BBC "Forgets" Palin E Mail Story – I Wonder Why……

Having read DB’s post at Biased BBC and the frenetic overture to the Palin e mails saga trumpeted on the BBC website a few days ago

Critics say the e-mails may damage Palin’s presidential chances

I thought I would check out the Beeb’s reaction to the general consensus in the US media that the much vaunted NYT/WaPo “investigation” had spectacularly backfired.

Even plodding Politico hack Molly Ball at Politico (probably through gritted teeth) had to admit

She was hands-on and averse to partisan politics. She championed openness in government and had normal relations with the media. She was a little starstruck by her interactions with national politicians but unafraid to do battle with the chief executives of the world’s largest oil companies.

though, being Molly, she had to inject some squirts of bitchiness a few lines later.

Her colleague Andy Barr, no admirer of Palin, was more generous, as was CNN’s Drew Griffin. In the Daily Telegraph, after the usual set of ill informed bleats from the master of cut and paste “journalism” Alex Spillius, Toby Harnden took Molly Ball’s words and juggled them around to give a semblance of originality.

Even blogging nonentity Ryan Streeter at ConservativeHomeUSA (thought by many to be financed by Lord Ashcroft) who thinks Palin’s role in the GOP should be to strut her stuff as a pretty cheerleader twirling her baton for Superwonk Paul Ryan thought the e mail colonoscopy had proved a damp squib (though, par for the course, he was more mealy mouthed than even Molly Ball.

But from the BBC – zilch, zero, a big fat nothing……I wonder why?

Fortunately, Cornell’s Professor Jacobson, managed to capture the video….

I don’t think it’s any secret that CH is financed by Lord Ashcroft.

That said you’re are surely right about the Beeb and the e-mails “showing a Governor hard at work”. How they must hate that! Theys till haven’t corrected their claims of her changing US history (publishing their bit AFTER she had been proved right!)

We need to have an FoI to find out how much the BBC spent trying to find dirt to use against Palin from these emails.  They must have used (my guess) at least 30 man days-worth of licence fee extortion money.

Great takedown Aging P.  A great example of everything we know and loathe about the BBC.  I had a look at BBC Online, and you’re right, nothing.

Came across this video though.  Freeze frame at 1:03 mins.  Do you recognise who she’s with?  With that lack of a field shaping up for the Republican nomination, I’m thinking it might be worth seeing Sarah Palin run, even if I dont think she’d beat Obama, but failing a better Republican candidate for 2012 emerging it might prove a good experience for her for another run.  I also see in BBC Online that Guiliani might go for it.  Hope so, he’d be a great President, if he manages a better campaign for the Republican ticket than 2007.  He may be a social liberal, but his bang on the money with defence and law and order.

The democreep leftists dirt diggers and diving smear merchants are looking awfully stupid right now.

Part of the Obama re election project was always based on the attempt to smear his enemies and dig up dirt to discredit them. This has always been a democrat leftist speciality and the democrat MSM can always be relied upon to engage in and spread any poisonous filth they can devise.

There is something else at work though that not many people have yet realised, the establishment elite political class are desperate to dominate the political narrative and set their own agenda. The attempt to steal the election from the voter by setting up an establishment friendly stooge republican candidate. You will notice that the one candidate being pimped as the only possible way to beat Obama is also an estblihment stooge insider, you will also notice the attempt to remove any tea party influence in the selection of the next republican candidate, its a done deal you see and any dissent might lead to the re election of Obama. He is being pimped as the only game in town, dubious polls and dodgy over presentation and a lock down on other possible candidates who might just rock the Washington elites hold on power.

You may notice from the establishment MSM that there is only one candidate capable of beating Obama, other candidates are visible only by their presentation as marginal losers doomed to failure. The BBC plays its part by peddling the failures and hiding the possible successes. The political establishment has got too much to lose by allowing a real right wing tea party patriot political outsider to gain traction and support, they want their candidate in place be it Obama or a tame pet stooge republican who will not rock the boat and will not make waves and will not change the cosy establishment staus quo. Too many powerful people have too much to lose.

Its Kang and Kodos and nobody else, Tweedledum and Tweedledee.
Kicking one out and replacing him with another identikit stooge who will change nothing is a favourite tactic of the political establishment, they have always realised that if they can control both candidates they win either way. The best way to rig an election is to own both candidates isnt it? A single election will decide if the USA live or dies, if the establishment wins its goodbye America.

    Nice summary, Aged P.

I see even Guardian columnist (and BBC presenter) Charlie Brooker was unimpressed with the frenzy. Here are some of his tweets over the weekend:

I guess eventually they’ll start raking through Sarah Palin’s poo. “Look, she ate something with sesame seeds on it in 2005.

Unless they find something staggering, which they probably won’t, it just looks a bit… mean. Odd, feeling sorry for Sarah Palin.

Gleeful reports saying “ha ha she ordered a sunbed!” So fucking what? I don’t like Sarah Palin, but I don’t like this either.

I take piss out of Mail wsite a bit in tmrw’s col for apparent conflicted position over something – then The Gdn does this!

On Newsnight Maitlis only wanted to know if any dirt had been uncovered (“ha ha she ordered a sunbed”, as Brooker puts it, was the exact level of Maitlis’ discussion with the Guardian’s Pilkington). She didn’t ask if the whole exercise was unseemly, or why only Palin has to suffer this sort of media colonoscopy. We know from Maitlis’ revealing little tweets earlier in the day why that was the case – she doesn’t like Palin.

Not sure, but while personal feelings are unavoidable, I had presumed that professional integrity in journalism required that ‘liking’, or not, was not only kept out of any published work but scrupulously kept in check privately through self-discipline.

At the BBC it seems more of a rewarded mandatory the more you expose your partiality.

Not just that she doesn’t like Palin, she has an evil, hateful desire to literally destroy anyone who is an effective, unapologetic advocate of conservative, Christian values.

The red estate is a tyranny in waiting.

As Aged P says the backlash against the media over the Palin emails has become the story, so the BBC has swept it under the carpet. If, say, the Daily Mail had attempted to crowdsource its newsgathering over a particular story only to suffer a negative reaction from its readership we can be sure that not only would the BBC have followed it up, its College of Journalism would have already provided a suitably mocking analyis on its website.

One thing to come of it – I can add “worked for the Guardian” to my CV, should I so wish (unlikely, I know). I say “worked for” – I wrongly tagged dozens of meaningless emails as “politically significant” and either “highly suspicious” or “Palingate!” just to waste their time. (There’s still unread emails on their website if anybody wants to do the same.) I did point out to them that their response message of “Thankyou” was not a single word (stupid Guardian redneck hicks) and they’ve changed it now, so I guess I did help out in some way.

No scoops mentioned at all in the Guardian’s specially dedicated twitter feed.  There is one tweet though, that sneers at Palin for somehow thinking that “bloggers are out to get her”.  No sh!t, Sherlock.  They were and are.  If the Guardian doesn’t understand that, they’re out of their minds.  I bet the Beeboids think the same thing.

The Palin email story illustrates an important part of public media discourse. Listen to the silence, to what is NOT being said and written about.

The best example of this in recent years is the John Edwards story. It was buried by everyone except (God bless its little cotton socks) the National Enquirer!  Even now liberals have airbrushed Edwards from their history like Stalin in revionist Russia.

The global warming email scandal is never mentioned in the media.

The worst example of this censorship is the Belgrano affair. The Argentinean battleship was preparing to attack the British fleet before being sunk on Maggie’s orders. An Argentinean naval officer admitted as much on a BBC2 documentary – BUT recently in a round-up of the Beeb’s greatest moments it was the Sue Lawley vs Maggie Nationwide program that was cited as the glorious  moment Thatcher was “caught out”.

But we have learned our lesson. Silence is no longer acceptable. And the heartening part about all this is that now we are watching and recording every falsehood and lie. It’s probably too late for Palin to recover from the barrage as the damage to her reputation has been done in the general public forum – but the fight is on to watch the back of the next Republican nominee for the White House. The media attack machine is poised – so are we.

Good points Louis. Let’s not forget that the first time the then BBC North America correspondent Justin Webb mentioned the John Edwards scandal was three weeks after the Enquirer’s revelations. Webb even admitted: “I am loath to get involved with the Edwards business”. Also worth remembering – Webb denied any anti-Palin bias during the election but later boasted : “I was very rude about Sarah Palin which upset some people.”

Great post Louis, its quite possible to see whats going on by looking at what is being hidden. The BBC are experts a telling half the story, hiding half the news to suit its prejudices and its narrative.

No mention at all that the Guardian was also beclowning themselves along with the NY Times and the darling WaPo.  Why does the BBC think it’s okay to censor that news?  It’s domestic, and they usually have no problem linking to the Guardian when it suits them.

If anything, these emails have actually restored a bit of my confidence in Sarah Palin.  The Beeboids know this by now, as even their fellow travelers in the US media admit it mostly makes her look better than they’ve portrayed her all along.  Yet they are silent, because the BBC simply will not allow anything positive about her to come through.

Here’s one Sarah Palin email the BBC will never tell you about:

‘A Down’s Syndrome baby will expand your world’: How Sarah Palin imagined God talking to her in extraordinary and touching letter about her unborn son

Read that and then ask yourself if this is the insane, horrible, stupid person Justin Webb and Katty Kay and the rest of them want you to think.  Not only that, but this must be conclusive proof that she’s the mother, which means that Andrew Sullivan is deranged.  Katty Kay and the other Beeboids will still have nothing but admiration for him, though.  It’s sickening.

So the story didnt pan out the way the BBC hoped it would and as so often when this happens the BBC drops the story. You could sense the beeboid childish exitement at the prospect of weeks of attack stories, digging up dirt and dishing it out.

The BBC at work with its foreign allies, an international web of leftist activism always looking for the next smear story, the next concocted bag of lies to spread, the next co ordinated pimping of the latest political line.

From an interview with the great American playwright David Mamet a couple of days ago in the FT:

What does he think of Barack Obama? “The question is can he run on his record in 2012 and the answer is no, because it’s abysmal. He took a trillion dollars and where it went, nobody knows. He dismantled healthcare, he weakened America around the world, he sold out the state of Israel. All he’s got to run on is being a Democrat and indicting the other fellow.”

So who would he prefer as president? He replies that he is “not current” with the Republican contenders until I mention Sarah Palin. “I am crazy about her,” he answers immediately. “Would she make a good candidate for president? I don’t know but she seems to have succeeded at everything she put her hand to.”

Worth reading it all – he slams the British intelligentsia for its anti-Semitism, too.

Governor Palin has left the BBC looking like the idiots they really are.

The BBC deserve a Pulitzer for Aggravated Mendacity (that means “lying” for any beeboid reading this).

Palin keeps drawing the BBC in, lusting after the ever-elusive Gotcha! headline, only to find… nothing.  This has been going on for months.  Palin is turning the tables on them and they don’t like it.  It must drive them nuts.  Each time the BBC wolf-pack goes a-hunting, the Palin non-campaign gives them nothing.  Though she’s making headlines every day, she does NOT announce her presidential run.  Maybe tomorrow, maybe never perhaps…

I like the way this completely f***s the BBC up: no message, no itinery, no Big Announcements, no PR people to kiss the BBC’s ample buttocks.

Remember these are not nice people – but the emails show that Palin ran a tight ship in Alaska and conducted tough negotiations with the oil companies.  The BBC/Guardian axis fell for it hook, line and sinker, desperately looking for a team of drones to go through all those emails. Couldn’t have happened to a nicer bunch of vipers.
