CHUCK E’S A BLACK PANTHER…

Did you see the BBC giving lots of publicity to singer songwriter Ricky Lee Jones this morning? She was on TV and Radio this morning, extolling her admiration for the Black Panthers. You can understand why the BBC likes her. (No link yet)

Yes, at that precise point I turned off the radio and listened to some music.

On another matter, I was away this weekend and noticed that Premier Inns no longer carry BBC TV – enough reason to support them!!!!

What the hell is this?  The Black Panthers (technically the “New” Black Panthers) are in the news right now because a self-proclaimed whistleblower from the Justice Department has quit and is now complaining that he and his colleagues were told to drop a case against them by corrupt political appointees.

Backgroud:  On the day of the last election, there were three “New” Black Panther guys standing in front of a voting station trying to intimidate people into voting for the black candidate.  One of them had a baton and all were trying to physically block a couple of people from entering.  One of them was also a local Democractic Party apparatchik.

This was all caught on video, and a case was brought against them by the Justic Dept. while Bush was still in office. The case was won by default because the Black Panthers ignored the case entirely.  Didn’t file papers, didn’t show up, nothing. When time came for sentencing, though, the case got axed by the Democrats.

Two Democrat political appointees who technically supervise the lawyers who run the show told the lawyers who had won the case that in fact it the evidence didn’t add up and they must drop the case.  Their decision was final, even though the appointees didn’t actually bother reading any of the details of the case.  One of the lawyers quite and is making the news rounds now – the ones who will dare talk to someone claiming The Obamessiah and His black Attorney General told them to drop a case against black people who supported His candidacy.  Of course, because the whistle-blower is a white Conservative, some will assume it’s all down to racism and it was wrong to bring up the case in the first place.  Even though they admit the intimidation was going on.

That’s why the Black Panthers were on this woman’s mind today. Did the BBC mention any of this?
