BBC insights on Islam…

‘Myself and everyone involved in the making of theseshows have nothing but respect for Islam. It is a beautiful religion (that Iindeed studied at University) and one that we’re fully aware of is based firmlyin love and peace.’  Colin Edwards BBCproducer

‘Islam is a vision of umma, of human community to whichis entrusted the trusteeship or stewardship of the planet.  What an ideology for the good of us all if itwere put into living and practical effect!’  John Bowker, broadcast on BBCworld service.

It’s based on SUBMISSION. That’s what the word ISLAM means, for God’s sake. SUBMISSION.

Since when is SUBMISSION based on “peace.”

    Newsnight, evening of Wednesday 16-Jun-2010
    —————————————————–

The main news topic on normal news channels that evening was how President Obama had had a face-to-face meeting with the BP executives over the oil spill and coerced BP to:

    – Stop dividend payments for a year (the first time this has happened since the second world war)

    – Put aside a £20 billion compensation fund

    – To declare no upper limit on future payouts to this fund

This story is astonishing and newsworthy on many fronts:

     – national leader imposing his will on the legal and corporate governance of a huge non-US company.

     – Many would say that this was solely to save Obama’s face and also to strengthen his severe anti fossil fuels bill going through the legislature which will apply huge taxes to all energy users.

     – The perverse justice of the US in imposing these restrictions on BP and yet allowing Union Carbide to escape paying anything for the Bhopal disaster.

     – These actions will have a very bad effect on UK finances and pensions.

     – Yet another sign of Obam’s anti-European attitude

So with a huge story like this, what do Newsnight spend practically ALL of the first 25 minutes of their programme reporting on:

    … wait for it, it’s a HUGE story …

… No, really! This is a big scoop …

The newsnight main story of that night was:

Some Jordanian muslim who is under house arrest in Britain on terror charges and is whinging about it.

Yep. Really on the ball aren’t they?

To rub salt into the wound, who did they have as one of the main studio guests on this topical news item about a whinging terrorist?  It was none other than that disgraced MP, Tony McNulty, who stole thousands from the taxpayers by lying about his parents’ home on his expenses.

They did eventually report on the BP-Obama story, but only 38 minutes into the programme.

Quality.  Worth every penny of my TV licence!!!

    Regards,

A very flustered and frustrated Daedalus Parrot.

The liberal mindset even with years of evidence simply cannot accept that Islam is anything but a religion of peace.

Here is a classic bBC article about how an Islamic terrorist cannot be deemed a threat and thus instead of deporting him back to his home country he should be allowed to live here on benefits.
Terror suspect speaks about life under ‘house arrest’

A man judged to be a threat to national security has decided to break his strict bail conditions so he can speak out about the difficulty of his life under virtual house arrest…..The government says Mr Alsamamara is a committed Islamist extremist and a danger to Britain.

Mr Alsamamara arrived in Britain in 2001 and claimed asylum. That claim was rejected and in 2004 he was arrested by police and imprisoned, pending deportation to Jordan.

The Jordanian intelligence department has told the British government it wants to question him in relation to alleged contact with the former leader of al-Qaeda in Iraq, Abu Musab Al Zarqawi, and over claims that he underwent paramilitary training in Afghanistan.

Mr Alsamamara denies any links with terrorism and says he faces torture if he is returned….

Police also found a will in an envelope on a notice-board. SIAC said it was written in “lurid terms”. It includes references to “jihad” and records his wish “to slaughter” members of the Jordanian government and the police.

What is known about the evidence against Alsamamara

Isn’t it nice how the bBC has no problem defending terrorists openly.

Mr Alsamamara does not deny writing this will but argues it simply quotes from the Qur’an and the hadiths,

On a radio programme (possibly “Start the Week”) Rageh Omaar said that he thought the doctrine of Jihad had been formed as a result of Muslim’s experience with the Crusades. Omaar was the BBC’s correspondent in Baghdad during the Iraq War and has since fronted documentaries on Islam.

In his remarks on Jihad he is wrong – Jihad had been running for 450 years by the time of the Crusades, which were a reaction to attacks on Christian pilgrims in the Levant. Omaar could not possibly have been ignorant of this history, so that makes him not mistaken, but a liar. But no one challenges Muslims about Islamic doctrine on BBC programs.

We are in the Third Jihad. But for their military impotence, this would have been a full blooded war by now. Occasionally, the violence breaks through the carefully constructed smokescreen, such as 9-11, 7-7, Beslan, and the Hezbollah war.

But as <a href=”Maher: Media ‘Way Too Stupid’ to Understand Israel/Palestine Conflict, So They Side with the Palestinians | NewsBusters.org “>Bill Maher</a> has said, the media are just plain too stupid, and too left-wing to get what Islam is about.

Colin Edwards and John Bowker can do more damage than any suicide bomber, they eat away like a cancer at our society, a society they despise yet take so much from.
They must see the danger, they must see the reality of islam and its cruel fascist and racist bigotry, the mysoginist values of stamping on the weak without mercy, mercy and forgiveness are alien to islam as are tollerence and acceptance.

They see beauty in uglyness and love in cruelty and tollerence in supremacist bigotry. I am not a religious person but even I fully realise what the bible meant when it spoke of the adulation of satan.

        Well said Cassandra.

I know many people, who were never Christians in the strictest sense, are now beginning to realise that Western civilisation would not exist were it not for Christianity. They are becoming supportive of Christianity.

Muslims are waging war on us on the religious front. Just like antibiotics are of no use a against a virus, and only an immune response will do, so it is now.  This means that it is a fight to death. So far our Christian leaders are engaged in multi-faith debates, knowing not that it is part of Taqqiya. But sooner or later, they will have to admit that the early Christians were right. There can be no Toletance of the doctrinally Intolerant. There can be no Tolerance of those who believe that the sword is the way to spread Islam.

Even the late Orriana Fallachi, a committed Athiest, saw that in the end, when the chips are down, we will have to choose sides. She chose rightly.

But, they live in fear of the extremists too.  Maybe not an opinion acceptable to some posters here.  But, in reality Islam is fragmented. What about the Alevis, what about the Sufis ?  They are persecuted by “brother” muslims, but not non-muslims.

The media and those that choose to work in it have never been closely examined for any prejudices and entrenched beliefs that may affect how the news events of the time are reported.
I have never seen an in depth analysis examining the motivations of those who control much of what we see and hear and this has been the case since at least the 60s when the new generation of university graduates emerged heads filled with Marxist revolutionary fervour and idealism.
The USSR at the time expended great resources to agitate and cause as much trouble and social strife as possible and universities were prime hunting grounds, the anti colonial and anti establichement movements were causing massive damage to the west. The plan was to foment a civil collapse where the USSR could pick up the pieces, they traded in jelousy and hatreds and explored every avenue to exploit this.
Many in the media were at least sympathetic to any ‘freedom’ cause and movement as it coincided with their own beliefs, many so called strggles were assisted by a complicit media that used its position to undermine authority and support insurrection and unrest.
You see we see only what those with the power wish us to see, the floors of the editing suites could tell a story, we have allowed the media to spin us a version of events which in many cases was totally at odds with actual reality and bore more resemblance to the authors political prejudice than reality.
The tragedies of the past like the African post colonial cesspit of violence was in large part triggered by and perpetrated by a minority in control of the media lens and those who used that lens for their own political struggle.
The USSR and its subsidiary international socialism has been dead for decades now but its poisonous and vile legacy of the exploitation of hatreds and prejudice still lingers to this day and its effects still touches us to this day and will for many years to come.

Here’s an object lesson in how al-Beeb facilitates the anti Israel message in Britain:

Jeremy ‘al’ Bowen interviews Bashar al-Assad, President of Syria, Hizballah’s weapons logistics provider, political assasination facilitator to Lebanon and Opthalmologist; as he gets his war-mongering freak on with those evil Joooz.

The usual BBC rules regarding Middle East despot interviews apply: loaded, leading questions, not a single challenge (apparently the Turks did nothing to provoke this ‘raid’, despite the overwhelming evidence to the contrary that has surfaced since); stateroom setting, hushed reverence.

Notice too, how the legitimate boarding of a vessel about to breach Israel’s borders is termed a ‘raid’ by al-Bowen – a lead which Bashar willingly takes.

      It was… ‘interesting’.

But as the fragrant teleprompter reader Sian intoned on Breakfast this morning, Mr. Bowen is ‘Middle East Editor’, and hence a highly experienced, professional and objective person to handle such a sensitive issue using the UK’s national broadcaster.

The Trust wouldn’t allow some totally compromised chump, that even they themselves have had to censure for ‘preferences’ in this fraught region, to be in the driving seat of such a key interview, surely?

Yes that item on Today before 7 am came across as completely sympathetic to creepy soft-spoken Assad. The bit at the end where Bowen said, almost as an afterthought, that Assad denies Syria is arming Hizballah, but the US and the UK are determined that it is.  It sounded as though Bowen was suggesting that  it was Assad’s denial that had the most credibility.

Bowen might have said ‘raid,’ but during that report someone called the flotilla incident “Israel’s attack.” Whatever evidence comes to light, if it favours Israel it’s regarded by the BBC as a lie, doctored, or ignored altogether.

          • Philip says:

But it wasn’t a raid. A raid (to my mind at any rate), would normally imply a manouevre or operation with the element of surprise with the initiating party.

The action against the Mavi Marmara was the legitimate boarding of a vessel threatening Israel’s borders, with plenty of pre-warning – and, as can be seen by the, er, welcoming party preparations, the other party knew exactly what was coming.

Don’t let them get away with it. We need to be pedantic and pick them up on everything.

Abu Al Bowen soothes away worries about the hostile colonisation of the UK with lashings of moral equivolence and outright lies, the islamists become the militant who then morphs into a peace activist who then somehow becomes a community activist and elder who wishes for peace.
The rage filled racist hostile colonist who arrives by engaging in the slave trade/passport scam becomes equal at least to native people, his criminality is excused, his racism and bigotry is accepted as cultural and his religion is praised.

I hadn’t seen this, so thanks for the link.  It is disgusting, and the outcry over here has been kept to a minimum.  I have no problem with a mosque being built in the neighborhood (it’s not on Ground Zero itself, but a couple blocks away), as religious freedom is vitally important to the US.  However, as Condell points out, and most reports have censored, it’s going to be much more than a mosque.

Having a whole “Islamic center”, especially one named after Corodoba, is a moral outrage, and is extremely insensitive to the families of victims.  It’s infinitely more insensitive than the French having a bacon fry-up in the banlieu.

As I’ve said before, 30 people from my street were murdered by Islamo-nutters on 9/11.  The street sign on the corner, like many others in the neighborhood, bears the name of a fallen fireman as well as the regular street name.  However, the Muslims around here (like the ones who run the corner bodega and sell me beer) were just as saddened as the rest of us, flew the flag in their windows, and do not support mass murder in the name of their religion.  I would also point out that a few innocent Muslim workers also died in the towers on that day.  So I have no problem with a mosque being built down there.  However, it’s no place for the glorification of any religion, especially directly responsible for such an atrocity.

A mosque is one thing – a celebratory display is quite another.  I fear that’s what this is going to be.   You can bet there would be an even bigger outcry, and loads of sneering from the BBC, if a Christian group wanted to build some big evangelical center there.

I may be inspired to do a little activism myself in the neighborhood about this.

The BBC types through the years have always supported those who would destroy Britain and the west. First it was the communists, who unfortunately were defeated. The left didn’t care or turned a blind eye to the mass murder in the UUSR, “the end justifies the means”.

The left then took up with Islam, another barabaric doctrine to fill the void left by communism. The left always talk of peace and pasafism yet at the same time they defend mass killings.

The left wingers are sick, they really can believe that Islam = peace, even when the bombs are going off around them. With communism the BBC types had a problem, most of the westen goverments were against them. With Islam they are on to a winner as most of the governments today are full of appeasers.

There would be far more peace in the world if violent jihadist adherents of Islam stopped killing each other and anyone else their bile picks on

BBC  Radio 5: reporting at our expense at Islamic Algeria’s response, from Algiers, at half-time to England game: with TV sets there being switched off for Islamic prayer-time.

BBC reporter does not use the word ‘Islam’ nor ‘Muslim’ to describe these events!

    Indonesia.

BBC is very late to catch on to repressive Islam in Indonesia.

    ‘Jihadwatch’:

    1.) 24th May –

“Indonesia: Authorities shut down church after protests by Islamic supremacists”

    http://www.jihadwatch.org/2010/05/indonesia-authorities-shut-down-church-after-protests-by-islamic-supremacists.html

    2.)29 May-

Indonesia: Police checkpoints and raids against jihadists jeans and tight skirts

    BBC report:

    18 June:

“Gay and transgender struggle for acceptance in Indonesia”

    Pakistan.

    BBC report:

“Eleven killed in ‘US missile strike’ in Pakistan.”

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/south_asia/10356604.stm

    Alternative, non-BBC headline:

‘Eleven jihadists killed in US missile strike in Pakistan.’

    Also for BBC:

    “Why Pakistan Produces Jihadists”

  29. George R says:

BBC’s ‘militants’, and Islamic Republic of Iran.

Apparently, for BBC, the following event is simply a case of one group of Muslim ‘militants’ (Shia) hanging a member of another group of  Muslims militants’ (Sunni):

“Iran hangs Sunni militant leader Abdolmalek Rigi”

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/10359415.stm

    From an anti-Islam perspective though:-
