Making Israel Toast

Melanie Phillips presents two inspiring pieces today. William Shawcross’s JPost article, and a statement made last year by Spanish politician and journalist Pilar Rahola.

The international press does major damage when reporting on the question of the Israeli-Palestinian issue. On this topic they don’t inform, they propagandize. When reporting about Israel the majority of journalists forget the reporter code of ethics. And so, any Israeli act of self-defense becomes a massacre, and any confrontation, genocide. So many stupid things have been written about Israel, that there aren’t any accusations left to level against her. At the same time, this press never discusses Syrian and Iranian interference in propagating violence against Israel; the indoctrination of children and the corruption of the Palestinians. And when reporting about victims, every Palestinian casualty is reported as tragedy and every Israeli victim is camouflaged, hidden or reported about with disdain.

A comment under Mr. Shawcross’s article in the JPost links to an online article from the US that adds an even more sinister dimension to Israel’s predicament. The US government’s abandonment of Israel and the implications thereof.

I intended to insert a video of a discussion between Jonathan Sacerdoti and Dr. Ghada Fahmi that was aired on Al-Jazeera, but my link wouldn’t upload:
http://www.youtube.com/user/mrjonsac#p/u/4/RT8ZtjNheMk
Do see what you can do with it. Or go through this and click on the link “speaking” in the 3rd paragraph.

Dr. Fahmi holds an important position in the Islamic Studies department at Exeter University, the university where Ilan Pappe is Professor of (revisionist) History. I’m told that the Arabic and Islamic Studies department is generously funded by Saudi Arabia.

This wasn’t on the BBC, but Dr. Fahmi does appear on the BBC, and is regarded as a credible spokesperson. I wonder how many people she speaks for, and if her attitude to the flotilla fiasco actually represents BBC thinking, or that of the British intelligentsia. Her theory is that the media unfairly favours Israel. The reason? Because they have the audacity to air, occasionally, Israeli spokespersons. In Dr. Fahmi’s view, this alone constitutes egregious media bias towards Israel.

Raving moonbat and vile terrorist enabler Lauren Booth tells salivating “peace activists” not to watch the BBC news and calls Mark Regev a “killer” and confesses that she doesn’t care about Israel’s security calls to take up arms against Israel then quickly corrects herself and says she means we should wave our arms about!

Thanks for posting that too! (Why should everyone stop watching the BBC just because Mark Regev makes Lauren Booth vomit? Pathological ego centric narcissistic personality disorder gone mad or what?)

What does this woman get out of this – is she really that commited to a “good cause” or is she just like most of the crowd deranged? I cannot really see what her motive is. She most certainly is mentalily unstable and should be put in a nice place with people in white coats.

And hence a perfect potential ‘expert’ ‘guest’ for any average heat over light BBC organised ‘discussion’ around this topic.

I am erring on holding the BBC, with other cynical, complicit MSM rabble rousers, responsible for the downward spiral being ensured by their news-shaping antics.
With a supine government guilty by their pathetic lack populist failure to actually wait and find out what the heck is going on before knee-jerking.

I heard Mark Regev being intereviewed by Shamira Ahmed early on Sunday morning on Radio 4.  He was hardly allowed to finish a sentence, she was practically hysterical.  An opposing view  to him was allowed to speak totally uninterrupted.  Business as usual from the BBC.

I would expect legal action to be taken against it.

Many people at the BBC would see nothing whatsoever wrong with Councillor Kelly’s rantings.  Especially in the comments section.

His next blog post carries a couple of photos of him attending an anti-Israel rally.  Old fat stupid-looking slob,  quite unlike the photo he carries on his comments.

But of course he is well-fed.  He “earns” a living as a Labour Councillor.

Here is a clip of various jihadist statements by leading Hamas spokesmen.  Funny,  I don’t recall the BBC ever telling us that Hamas wishes to destroy the West – they don’t even tell us they wish to destroy Israel, or that the nutters on MV Marmara had the same aim.  Every British soldier killed in Afghanistan is obviously regarded as good news by Hamas – and its Iranian backers.

OK,  I want the entire BBC news service to be “destroyed”,  because it is utterly biased,  an affront to its Charter requirement of impartiality.

Whoa – I can’t say that,  it is far too extreme.  Even to say it should be closed down would be attacked by Beeboids as an extreme view.   Even though if they are any good as “journalists” they could seek work elsewhere.

But please note – I did not use the word “annihilation” about the BBC news service,  but that is the exact word that Hamas leaders use every day about Israel and the Israelis.  Israel faces a threat to its very existence – but the BBC studiously avoids informing its audience properly of this fundamental objective of Hamas.

    …………….

(Incidentally, I see Barbara “Tears for Arafat” Plett is now covering the UN for the BBC.  Pretty appropriate,  I suppose,  she’ll feel very much at home in that nest of vipers.)

You’ve got the issue in a nutshell.  Hamas is an openly genocidal movement against Israel and Jews throughout the world but the BBC hides this and portrays it as victim.  The BBC is in the hands of some extremely evil people who are wilfully working hand in glove with Hamas, Hizbollah and Iran towards a second genocide of the Jews.  If this isn’t something that should prompt mass rallies against the BBC outside its studios than nothing is.

The mere idea that we allow the hideous Saudi regime to finance an Islamic Studies department at a British university is deeply troubling. It’s as if we allowed Moscow or Peking to fund a department of Marxist-Leninist Studies during the Cold War.

The Saudis are playing a particularly treacherous role: on the one hand obsequiously condemning Al Qaida type terror while the West is watching and on the other funding the teaching of the exact beliefs that lead to that terrorism.

Wonder what the Turks think of this:   http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2010/06/lets_see_how_turkey_welcomes_a.html

Israeli students are planning a reverse, genuine freedom flotilla filled with vital aid and no weapons, sailing towards…Turkey.

One plan is to sail to Turkey to deliver desperately needed aid to the Kurds who are fighting to establish an independent state of Kurdistan on land occupied by Turkey. The Israelis also would like to help Christian Armenians whose ancient enemy, Turkey once again, is also blockading their area via Azerbaijan. The Israeli group would also like to peacefully greet any future fascist flotillas sailing to well equipped, well supplied Gaza at sea, explain their concerns and redirect them to areas which desperately need the aid. Israel regularly allows food and medicine into Gaza but the freely elected and brutally corrupt Hamas government distributes it, usually denying supplies to its many enemies.

The bBC’s Abu Bowen cries ‘foul play’

(bBC) The bBCs Middle Eastern editor Jeremy Bowen isn’t know for his impartiality when it comes to reporting about Israel. In fact no other bBC reporter is as reviled as much as Abu Bowen. Under his stewardship Hamas,Hezb-allah and fatah have been given a makeover. (Ok not so much Fatah as the other two hate them, but when they kill a jew Abu gets a hard on) which is why under his leadership. We have had classics such as Barbara Plett openly crying when Arafat died while reporting from the scene. We had Orla Guerin reporting from the Lebanese village Bint Jbeil during 2205. According to the bBC the village had been destroyed. Thing is another British news agency also reported from the village on the same day and gave a much different account. Bloggers soon picked up the discrepancies

DP111, my abiding memory of Abu Bowen was him strutting around the perimeter of Sderot hours before Cast Lead, getting all excited while he told us about how, if the IDF went into Gaza, they would be heavily disadvantaged in close quarters combat.

During that little episode, “tzeva adom” sounded, while Abu Bowen was still outside, far from a shelter protected only by his bullet proof vest and kevlar helmet, and a kassam shot past in picture.

His reaction was a joy to behold.  He looked terrified, began jabbering, “Did you see that?  Did you get that?” and I’ll bet he wet his pants.

Anyone who heard Lord Patten’s cringeworthy interview on the Today programme this morning (11/6/10) may have had the same reaction as I did.  Rather than write to the Beeb, however, I addressed myself to him directly via “They Work for You.”:

    “FOR THE ATTENTION OF:

    “Lord Patten
    House of Lords

    “Friday 11 June 2010

    “Dear Lord Patten,

“I heard your interview on the “Today” programme this morning (11 June).

“I am not unduly surprised that you told only half the story (this was after all the BBC) but are you really ignorant of the fact that the poorest among the population in Gaza are so because they have to pay Hamas for the aid which the EU donates free of charge? How can you justify what you said when there is evidence that in Gaza City at least, there are luxury hotels and restaurants and other amenities, see http://www.tomgrossmedia.com/mideastdispatches/archives/001114.html

“Why do you think that these cannot be translated across the whole of Gaza?

“Particularly shocking was your twisting of the truth about the flotilla incident, to make it seem, as usual, as if the Israeli Navy attacked without reason or cause. Have you seen the footage from the Mavi Marmara itself before the Israeli navy boarded – how the pro-Hamas thugs prepared for what should have been a peaceable encounter as was the case with all the other boats?

“I deeply resent my taxes being put towards funding thugs such as these to perpetuate their terrorist activities against Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East – and you may be absolutely sure that this will be the case if the EU or other international bodies get their wish.

“May I respectfully suggest that you view the following

“It is satirical, true, and like all good satire it works because it is essentially true. “We Con the World” includes, apparently, conning you.

    “Yours sincerely,”
