SAMCAM BAD, LIBDEMS GOOD

Caught BBC TV news this morning, rather in the same way as one catches a cold. There was an item on Samantha Cameron talking about her husband, David. I thought she came across fine and quite human. The BBC instantly went to get a woman’s group who found the whole thing “patronising”. It’s clear they seek to undermine the Conservatives even on the most mundane level. Then there was a fawning interview with Nick Clegg, in which he was allowed to bash “the rich” and agree with the Orwellian Childre’s Commissioner that we are criminalising children. BBC loves the liberal agenda and this translates into the toadying interview with Cleggy.

Nothing new here, Newsnight had a 40 minute attack on the Tories last night and Radio 5 joined in tihs morning as well.

Well, I guess that might be a step up from the rest of the planet feeling ‘My hero’ was as inspired a piece of spousal oratory the world has ever been privileged to hear.

That Newsnight report from Liz McKean was even more biased than it at first seemed. It featured three ‘talking heads’, all from the Left – without letting Newsnight viewers in on the secret that they were all left-wingers rather than disinterested experts. They were:

Nick Allan, a former diplomat who also happens (though we weren’t told this by the BBC) to be Head of Communications at The Guardian – so probably not a Tory.

Agnes Poirier of La vie, a left-wing French journalist who often appears on Gavin Esler’s Dateline where she frequently attacks the Tories.

Alexandra Pardal (an active member of the Party of the European Socialists) from the Labour-aligned Centre for Foreign Policy. Liz McKean didn’t mention anything about her other than her name and the name of her think tank. Viewers would not have known anything about her (or its) party allegiances.

Two more left-wingers, Marc Roche of Le monde (the French equivalent of The Guardian) – another regular on Dateline – and Gavin Esler of the BBC, then took on Conservative MEP Charles Tannock. Esler interrupted him repeatedly.

A favourite trick of biased broadcasters.  I remember once a General Secretary of Labour (forget the guy’s name) was one week being interviewed in this capacity, and only a week later was being interviewed as a member of think tank the IPCC without any reference whatsoever to his highly partisan background for the unaware viewer to adjudge his comments.

I’m sure the valiant Tory Party will waste no time in nobly sallying forth to condemn this screamingly bent journalism.  Not.

At least ITV are balancing out Brown’s friendly interview with Trevor McDonald conducting one with Cameron.  Let’s saviour these last vestiges of democratic broadcasting while they last …

BBC election propaganda (for next 10 weeks), via Radio 4, for Labour no doubt  by BBC chum, Obama supporter, Simon Schama. Tories not happy:

The BBC don’t care, they get away with murder politically but the Tories don’t complain, the Tories should be making formal complaints to the BBC trust every day. Every time a Tory appears on the BBC they should only talk about BBC bias.
