SAMANTHA OROBATOR – BBC HEROINE?

Mmm, maybe I should rephrase that! Did you catch this item on BBC Today this morning concerning the fate of alleged British drug smuggler Samantha Orobator? At NO point was the possibility even discussed that she might have actually committed the crime of which she is accused by the Laos authorities. The BBC has been bigging up this story, with sympathetic interviews with her family. As has been remarked, funny how they are always innocent when caught. We had the usual human rights lawyer invited on to tell just how awful it all is. Not as awful as the consequences of letting drug dealers and their mules getting away with the dreadful crimes.

As I keep pointing out, drugs are a way of life for many beeboids. To them there is nothing wrong with some smack or coke.

I’d love to go into the BBC with a drugs search dog and do some random drugs testing. I just wonder how many beeboids would fail?

No satisfactory explanation of in what circumstances she managed to become pregnant AFTER her arrest and while in detention, having said it was not rape.

A question I would like to see addressed by our courts is that of females being pregnant by the time they appear in court but not being in that “happy” state when arrested/charged.

It would be far too cynical of me to suggest an attempt at the sympathy vote, wouldn’t it?

This particular ‘mule’ happens to be pregnant, with the trial about to start and no access to legal advice before it in order to prepare for trial, I find this state of affairs very worrying. I’m glad the bbc took it up, it shows that in Britain human rights do matter and that the state broadcaster will expose abuses of them to the world.

On this the BBC gets my vote.

There is still Civis Britannicus surely? I don't fully know the ins & outs of this but either way she should have consular support. If she was raped then all bets are off – silly I know – her rights have been cancelled and so too are her obligations.

Just as a rule of conduct – you can't be shooting pregnant Brits – wait until she's dropped at least. That's kinda barbaric.

So if Hitler had been a woman and up the duff in 1945 you wouldn’t have had her killed?

What about a pregnant female suicide bomber?

Funny that the feminists/lesbians in the media are all up in arms over this dopey cow because she’s pregnant, yet if the silly bitch were to have an abortion none of these lesbians at the BBC would care.

    Talk about double standards.

er Martin this is the state sentencing a pregnant woman to death. It’s not relevant the nazis may have done it, that was back in 1945, this is now, things have moved on. Did Britain use gas chambers no, does Britain sanction suicide bombers of any gender – no.

You’re way off base, stop comparing things that are not the same.

Funny that leftie twats seem to want to import foreign laws HERE, that’s what concerns me not some silly bitch.

And like I say the leftist Lesbians have NO problem killing unborn babies when it suits them.

Nigerian drugs mules ‘on the rise’

Sarah Montague seemed uninterested. I noticed that no articles about this “mum-to-be” have a link to the above, either. Curious.

Although, it sounded to me like there was an assumption of guilt by both her and the lawyer rep. Why else bring up the prisoner exchange idea, which caused the lawyer rep to stammer through the obligatory “presumption of innocence, etc.” boilerplate? Laos hasn’t executed anybody in 20 years, and it’s not like there’s been a rash of innocents getting arrested for heroin smuggling.

When did this woman become “British”? She is a Nigerian who has been allowed into the UK. Her mother is a professional Nigerian student “studying” in Ireland.
Are the Nigerian government and media making a fuss about this?
    Somehow I don’t think so.
Whenever “British” drug mules have been intercepted abroad the BBC comes over hysterical.

Like the new layout, but as some other blogsters noted when Bowman went off the rails and started banning everyone left right and centre, the prominence of this blog is due, in no small part to all those who post here.
The comments bit needs to be a bit more high profile.

It’s beginning to look like it. Stop telling people what to call themselves. Stop messing with the comments zone by taking away options on how to post, and stop calling people trolls who haven’t broken any rules.

    TPO,

Other reports say Orabator has been in the UK since the age of eight. That makes her way more of a Briton than nearly every other criminal the BBC usually heralds as “British”.

Of course, they still won’t even bring up the possibility that her story might in some way be related to the general problem of Nigerian drug mules. No, they’ll hide any unpleasant thoughts and focus on the sensationalism instead.

Too many journalists are being branded spies for my liking. It depends on why she was there, the real reason, but the issue of legal representation still remains. She is entitled to it, and should have got it imv.

David, I’m not sure if you recall it but Andrew Bowman became hyper sensitive, insulting anyone with the temerity who disagreed with him. After one tirade against someone I suggested that he grow up. I was banned.
As for trolls like hillhunt and Alex Reynolds, well I’m 100% with you on that.

Actually her family are living in Dublin…
    Tangled whoever.

As I said her mother is a professional Nigerian student “studying” in Ireland.
She came from Nigeria. The father is still there.

I’ve always found the liberal left a tad hypocritical when it comes to intervention in other country’s affairs. Having lived and workied in a number of countries in the Middle East and Far East some 35 years ago I found it sensible to give the appearance of abiding by their laws. I may not have agreed with them, especially in Saudi where we all had access to alcohol, but if you wanted to stay out of the pokey you didn’t wave breaches of their laws in their faces.

People with a highly developed sense of their own self importance like Clive “Stafford” Smith (pompous prat) think it their divine right to tell other countries what is wrong with their legal systems.

This woman has pitched up in Laos, not exactly renowned for pulling in the punters. Now I wonder what the tourist attraction was. Surely not the golden triange.

    http://www.search.com/reference/Golden_Triangle_(Southeast_Asia)

Now does anyone really need the lecture on the realignment of Class A trafficking from the Caribbean to West Africa and the recruitment of mules from that region??

Any thoughts from either of you about why the BBC isn’t making any connection between her case and the ongoing problem of Nigerian drug mules? Not even worth a link on the website? They usually like to point to relevant archived reports.

Maybe they know their McNae’s? Media law still applies, even if the criminal charge originates outside the UK.
