CEASEFIRE.

To be honest, I was sorry to see tonight that Israel has called a ceasefire. It would be best that the IDF/IAF continue to pound every Hamas savage into the dirt of Gaza but I guess this was an inevitable political gesture considering the Obama coronation coming to you 24/7 early next week. I caught Jeremy Bowen commenting on this announcement on the 10 News and was struck by his once-more repeated admiration for the Hamas policy of what he calls “Martyrdom and sacrifice” aka hiding behind women and children and finessing homicide bombers in the kindergarten. The BBC still refuses to share with us how many Hamas terrorists have gone in to meet Allah prematurely, instead preferring to imply that Israel has only killed innocents during this campaign. The coverage of this military campaign against Hamas is a textbook example of BBC bias against Israel and all the reason in the world why we should not be funding such naked anti-semitism .

Good point Bio. But if, after you’ve deciphered it, it’s still bollocks, where does that get you?

“Fish: You objection is a little like walking into a hospital with a ferrit hanging from your hand and saying, ‘i need some one to treat this dog bit.’ and then lobbying to have the dangerous dogs acts broadened and made more survier.”

Sorry Ben, I just didn’t understand much of that at all. Why do you think ferret and dog bites are comparable to the practicalities of dealing with terrorism?

Do you really believe that dogs and ferrets form complex decentralized networks? Are tightly coupled dog / ferret operational cells biting the enemy whilst loose coupling is used to protect the governance level from accountability?! Who would be boss in your scenario? Cats? The dogs will never accept it, I tell you!

Proof yet again that the bbc propaganda handed out by its biased reporting is failing miserably amongst its own viewers.

the first ten comments are very much anti hammas and are not fooled by the wuzzy fuzzy image the beeb has been shilling out the last few weeks.
there are many free thinking people out there who think outside the narrow bbc box.

Yes, that’s why I wrote to the BBC and suggested that they dispense with the tab “Readers recommended”. I’m all for a discussion and seeing other opinions but HYS is just being systematically used for Israeli propoganda. Scrap “Readers recommended” please!

    [antihypocrite], Winterthur, Switzerland

You Euros wrongly believe Israelis do not have many supporters in the world. Just becos Euros hate Israel does not mean others in the larger world do not understand the terrorism they face.

BTW winterthur was i seem to remember the location of the swiss insurance companies who handed the Jewish insurance policies of the concentration camp victims to the Nazis so they could cash them in on behalf of the third reich.
Only trouble was, some survived and discovered the awful fraud.
must see if its on google somewhere.

Noted also that those who call themselves “antihypocrite” are almost always the worst hypocrites.

In fact a Swiss calling himself “antihypocrite” is beyond hypocrisy.

Is Winterthur Swiss *German* by any chance?

correction Winterthus is both the name and the location of the insurance company. it was huge then as it is today.
there is quite a lot to read about and all i can say at this moment is that at today’s values the insurance policies are in the region of 20 Billion dollars. NO doubt this helped the nazi war effort greatly.
Since switzerland became the headquarters of the immensely wealthy Muslim Brotherhood perhaps they have since moved on to more lucrative allies.

the UK and US have killed 1.2 million Arabs for a bit of petrol, why no UN investigation of war crimes?

No, they haven’t. Those numbers are false. And regardless of the real numbers, most of them were killed by their fellow Iraqis and other Muslim terrorists.

Ah, it’s because the US pays a billion dollars per year to the UN (the largest contributor by far) and the UK has veto. In other words chuckles, they’re politically biassed and worried about their jobs.

If the US has so much influence over the UN, why has the UN been supporting Hamas?

Nailing your colours to the mast? They have had to withdraw now, which shows what a pointless venture it was in the first place. they claim to have achieved their goals in gaza, which is kinda like when a football manager tells you his team have played well, but they lost the game.

    MW,

I think you will find that once the smoke has cleared and the tough guys who arent in Gaza have finished declaring victory…that reality will be very different to what you think it is.

Israel has moved to cut out the cancer of terrorism that is hamas. Israel has done what the west couldnt, to combat terrorism and defeat it.

Sure you see a few terrorists making grand speaches, but these guys know they just got bent over an apple cart and rogered up the shuzpah.

What should happen with all that moeny that is about to pour in to Gaza is that it should come with the condition that Palestinian society must change. No change, no money.

As the BBC likes to say, its really as simple as that.

I think you’ll find that killing perhaps as many as 900 terrorists wasn’t pointless.

You should also note the speed with which Hezbollah disclaimed responsibility for the few rockets fired from inside Lebanon.

Apart from what has been achieved on the ground (and under it) in Gaza it serves as a deterrent to others not to mess with Israel. That was one of Israel’s aims and the fact that the Arab world has remained largely silent and none have joined in the actual fight is proof that it has worked. Even Iran has been remarkably subdued in its reaction.

Or perhaps you’d prefer the IDF to stay in Gaza and finish off Hamas to the point where they’d plead for mercy?

I’m with David V. Israel should have maintained the pressure until Hamas admitted defeat instead of allowing them the chance to claim victory, for the benefit of the likes of you to believe.

No, this is more like when one football team beats the other and then the losers claim a win for being last to leave the pitch.
