REPARATIONS NOW?

I noticed that the BBC ran an item on “Today” this morning concerning the demands from some of those who have suffered grievously at the hands of the IRA for financial compensation from Libya which supplied the IRA with weaponry. Fair enough, but I’m just wondering why the BBC reporter did not see fit to enquire why it might not be quicker to seek reparations for IRA murder… from the IRA? Their senior leaders are now seated in the government of Northern Ireland and their organisation is flush with cash. I know it’s not quite bias, but it is an obvious question and one that the BBC does not ask. Why? Are some questions forbidden?

David, as we know, bias is just as much in the omission as the inclusion. You are right…its a very legitimate question to pose and a proper journalist would have used it.

Reparations please from Bill Clinton for his fiasco legacy of sub-prime lending, and Gordon Browns’ ridiculous bogus “fiscal stimulus” rate cuts – interest on savings fallen from 5% to 1%.

Now the ban on short-selling financial shares has expired the short-selling hedge fund parasites are back.

Who now has any confidence in anything? No way to run a railway. Or anything else.

Difficult to say without hearing the whole conversation.

And like the other poster above, many belated returns of the day….

Ooops just listened to it. It seemed like a pretty reasonable report. It was re compensation from the Libyian government, and perhaps they wanted to concentrate on that. As you say yourself, its not actually bias…..

I read awhile back that members of Sinn Feinn IRA were flitting around Wall Street at the time of the crash.
    They’re alleged to be skint.

    David Vance,

I thought “Bill Buchanan” had been banned from this website for dishonestly stealing another poster’s identity, but he seems to be posting at 10:49, above.
