PARISIAN PERPLEXITY

I was intrigued by this item the BBC ran on Today this morning concerning what it alleges is the “raised tensions” between the Jewish and Muslim communities in France. As far as I am aware, the “raised tension” seems to manifest itself in only one direction, as the Molotov cocktails hurled at a synagogue north of Paris by “youths” demonstrates. I know that the French Interior Minister, Michele Alliot-Marie, in a wonderful example of dhimmitude, has been suggesting that there has been anti-Jewish AND anti-Muslim violence in France but the thing is that there is no evidence anywhere of any violence by the French Jewish community against Fench Muslims. Thing is, there is plenty of evidence when it comes to Muslim attacks on Jews but a total absence of attacks on those Banlieue “youths” that so enjoy a good riot. It would do the BBC better to report facts, not engage in wishful thinking, and that includes those occasions when the facts do not suit their moral relativist narrative.

The reality is that Al Beeb has gone out of its way to insist muslims are victims, especially after the july terrorist attrocities…yet not a thing about Jews being victims of muslim aggression in this country!

This ‘France 24’ report at least indicates the scale of the problem in France, but the obvious perpetrators of the anti-semitic attacks are not named, but only hinted at:

“Sarkozy condemns attack on French synagogue”(includes video clip).

I noticed that too David. I also noticed that they didn’t really give a comprehensive list of the large number of attacks against Jews since Operation Cast Lead began, let alone those that have occured prior to that.

It was no more than a token so they can say, “yes we have covered it.”

And of course it hasn’t “raised tensions between the two communities“, there’s no attacks on Muslims by Jews. It’s a one way street.

The British government should consider a similar ban on the Iran regime’s PRESSTV which is given a political platform on the Sky satellite to broadcast from London studios round the clock, while there is no reciprocity of provision for anti-Hamas, anti-Ahmadinejad broadcaster (I don’t mean the BBC) to set up in Tehran. We’re not talking free speech here.

Disturbing but given the French record in WW2 hardly a surprise. In fact the question of complicity with the Nazi regime in the destruction of the Jews by other European nations is one of the taboo subjects of history.
Denial is part of the European governing class DNA.

Let nobody forget the tragic fate of Ilan Halimi – the young Jewish boy tortured and killed by French Muslims. The BBC totally failed to enlighten the public as to the attackers religion/motives.

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/4742094.stm

“Victim Ilan Halimi died after being found naked, bound and gagged in a crime that shocked France.

The 23-year-old man had been held for ransom for three weeks.

He was dumped near the Sainte-Genevieve-des-Bois train station near Paris on 13 February, and found lying in agony with horrific injuries to his body. He died on the way to hospital.”

According to the BBC News editors, Jews worldwide sort of deserve what’s coming to them. It’s unfortunate, of course, and they’ll shed a small percentage of the tears Barbara Plett shed for Arafat, but they feel that Jews everywhere must bear the brunt of the criticism towards Israel. That’s just how the world works to them. So it’s no wonder that Jews in Paris are implicitly culpable in these “tensions”.

After all, in the minds of BBC News people, Jews have dual loyalty, most Jews blindly support a country of their ethnic brethren, and the “Jewish Lobby” controls US foreign policy. We’ve heard this here directly from the mouths of Beeboids, so we have to accept that this is how the BBC views things.

Reason doesn’t apply here. Only double standards.

You can imagine the way the anti-Jewish hacks at Al-BBC would have reported the pre-WW2 years in Nazi Germany…..”Tensions between members of the Nazi Party and the Jewish community are increasing….”

I think it’s worth reminding everyone of the BBC editorial attitdue regarding Israel and the Palestinians.

Many people here will remember the Alan Johnston situation. While he was being held, the BBC was tireless in their support of him, calling for his release, etc., as they rightly should do for a colleague, regardless of what I may think of his professional behavior.

However, the BBC had no shame whatsoever in printing this article about Palestinians in the UK expressing solidarity with Johnston:

The solidarity event was held at a Palestinian restaurant in west London.

Organisers said they wanted to “send a clear message to his kidnappers that the Palestinian community… are appalled by this act”.

Restaurant owner Mohammed Zomlot, who is from Gaza, said the Palestinian community in the UK wanted to support Mr Johnston.

“I feel that we are the people who really should care about Gaza, and who should care about Alan,” he said.

“Because Alan, at the end of the day, he’s one of the people who cares about us and he works for us, and that’s why we have a responsibility to protect him, and we have to ask for his immediate release.”

The BBC article even (proudly?) puts that as a subheading for this bit. They’re so busy trying to show that not all Palestinians are bad kidnappers, and most of them really, really, care about Johnston, that they didn’t think twice about doing it.

    UK Palestinians in Johnston plea

So basically the guy who had just been named Broadcast Journalist of the Year by the London Press Club (mostly staunch Israel supporters, right?) is not a journalist, but an advocate for a cause. But the BBC will think I’m insane for thinking such a thing.

Dave S: Yes. The fact the Royal Navy had to sink a large portion of the French fleet in WW2 as they refused to come over onto the side of the British and fight the Germans AND the fact that southern France was left in control of the vichy French and Marshal petain says all you need to know about the French.

They won’t care. They don’t see it as a problem. It’s just the Palestinians’ opinion, not a reflection on Johnston or the BBC.

I had the pleasure of watching the French state broadcasters coverage of the Palestinian Solidarity demos in the south of France on Saturday. You have to hand it to the French – their media (France 2 and France 3) may be state run but their broadcasting was impeccable and puts the BBC to utter shame.

The Gaza thing was item 4 on the news reports, not ITEM 1, as per the BBC.

All mainstream political parties including the PS socialists condemmed the anti-Israeli/ Anti-American rioting. Only the PCF Parti Communist Francais and the “Syndicalists (CGT communist union) fronted and organised the Palestinian solidarity demos.

A few cursory seconds were given to the Pally-propaganda footage of “children maimed by Israeli’s” and fleeting picture of a placard equating the star of david with swastica. The cameras moved quickly to Sdrot and life under Hamas rocket fire.

Well done the French. And shame on the shite BBC

You say: “Your posts are getting more desperate.”

Please don’t try to personalise this. Comments about me are off-topic.

It’s not about me, it’s about the BBC’s reporting of Gaza.

As a BBC reporter Johnston, like all professionals, should be impartial.

Whether he supports peace, war, Arsenal, Spurs or Celtic Rangers, those personal views should not be apparent in his reporting of Gaza.

    He’s paid by the BBC.

That Palestinians believe he works for them seems to be indicative of bias.

Actually, for all the frenzy of posts removed those remaining do seem to be mostly on “our side”.
