BBC News Online drops newspaper front page coverage

– absolutely nothing to do with front pages like the one featured in the post below, oh no, of course not! It’s all to do with copyright of photos you see – even though these could be dealt with in other ways, such as pixellation. Cowards!

Note though that “the written review of the daily papers will continue” – so that’s alright – that way the News Online Beeboids can better select which bits of newspaper coverage to report. It’s a bit like the old News Online polls – they used to run them all the time, but more often than not the results were embarrasingly unsympathetic to the BBC’s right-on world view, which is why we now have all those carefully selected (Don’t) Have Your Say pages instead.

Posted this on another thread, but…

Saw BBC Breakfast this morning, which is never a good start. The hideous Natasha Kaplinsky embiodies so much of what I dislike about the BBC – a third-rate local news presenter, seemingly devoid of independent thought, turned into a C-list celeb by virtue of Celebrity Come Dancing, that paragon of public service broadcasting. At about 8:25am there was much hand-wrigning and sneering from the auto-cutie Kaplinsky and her gormless Dermot replacement over the NASA shuttle problems. The viewer could be left in no doubt as to where they stood on this piece of US funded extravagance. I emerged from the shower at around 8:45 and the lacquered one (for that is her) was rattling on about it again, this time to a couple of experts. She actually asked the question “Is space exploration worthwhile when we live in a world of poverty and inequality?” The expert, to her credit, seemed somewhat dumbfounded. If it was down to Beeb, the West would undertake no frivolous, privateering activity (never mind an important piece of scientific research) until the ‘inequality’ issue was resolved.

Communism lives on at Narrowcasting House.

Americans & ‘Bad People’ in Sahara-Sahel” which (I quote) summarises “how North-West Africa fits into America’s imperial grand design” and other such America bashing ROAPE articles.

    er, no it doesn’t

    “Iran concedes to UN diplomacy…..”?

    er, nope.

    “Iran restarts nuclear programme”
    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/4131706.stm

    Yeah, that’s about right.

The BBC constantly paints the EU & UN as “saviours of humanity” & US as “dumb cowboys”. The EU & UN have had a chance to show the world what they can do. The result speaks for itself.

How about a few “critics say” in the puff pieces for this sorry excuse for a diplomatic negotiation? The EU will now be relying on the US to ‘do something’. Then BBC can whine from the sidelines about Uncle Sam’s hegemoney etc.

If the EU is a “superpower”, I’m a “banana”.

Well it won’t be £126.50 for much longer. Apparently they are asking the Government for a 2% + inflation rise in the tv tax every year for the next five years.

As I said on the other post: The BBC claiming they can’t publish front pages of the Morning Star etc anymore is rubbish because this site gives you the front pages of hundreds of papers throughout the world including British ones…..so their feeble ‘copyrigth’ excuse fails (how unusual). Will they EVER tell the truth to those who pay for all this?

Oh yes newspapers which exist to earn a profit* would quite naturally rush to sue the BBC for giving them free publicity and encouraging a person to buy a copy.

*All except the Guardian which makes a massive loss despite it’s huge cover price and massive government subsidy via ads for thousands of useless pointless PC jobs also paid for by the taxpayer.

OT and not that important in the grand scheme of things but…
A lot of viewers find DOG’s (the logo in the corner of the TV screen) an annoying distraction. BBC3 increased the size of theirs over the weekend and received a lot of complaints from viewers. This prompted a discussion on the BBC3 news on which they invited two guests on to discuss the issue, both guests were in favour of DOGS and one of them worked at the BBC. Do these guys have any idea of BALANCE!

In addition there was also an article on their website which basically exposed their contempt for anyone with a differing view,

The inhabitants of planet Beeb have long hated dirtying their hands with newspapers that don’t agree with their world view.

If the Beeb thought it could get away with it, the only newspaper headlines it would ever show would be from The Guardian, it’s pages handled with hallowed, bum-kissing reverence.

Just as you’d expect, really; as The Guardian sets the agenda for most BBC current affairs programmes.

I’m surprised Planet Beeb doesn’t combine forces and form Guardian TV News 24….presented by Polly Toynbe…er…oops she’s already been there done that…..

A busy chap this Mr Patel:

Bilal Patel is a British Muslim Leader in East London

He is a spokesman for Stop Political Terror, a pressure group campaigning against ATCSA and other recent anti-terror laws whose patron is Yvonne Ridley, former journalist and apologist for the Taliban.

Has spoken on a number of occasions to the media, and in particular in relation to the case of Babar Ahmad, a British prisoner awaiting the outcome of an extradition hearing to the United States.

    Socialist worker – a letter
Blair is using the London bombs for political gain—and some Muslim leaders have shamefully capitulated, writes Bilal Patel

Red Ken used him as well:

“Livingstone also favourably quotes a condemnation of the London
community coalition’s criticisms of Dr al-Qaradawi from a discussion
board on Imaan’s website. He claims it was typical of Imaan’s views
and fails to acknowledge that the passage he quotes is from one person
taking one position. He does not mention that it was this one person,
Bilal Patel, who posted 9 of the 22 posts in the discussion.” (Harry’s Place)

He stood as an independent Muslim candidate in Preston in the 2001
    general election,

Also seems to be involved with MCB, MPACUK and other rather ‘excitable’ organisations…

So why do the BBC not tell us this when publishing his views etc? He is by no means unbiased!

  27. max says:

    Anon, good question LOL.

    Here’s part of the answer:

Bilal Patel, now 35, stood as an independent Muslim candidate in Preston at the 2001 general election.

He canvassed young men and women and picked up 1,300 votes – not enough to save his deposit, but enough to make him think about doing it again.

Mr Patel says young British Muslim disaffection comes from a belief that their elders “kow-tow” to politicians who refuse to give them an equal stake in society.

    SASSY!

“Many of us are annoyed with the older generations. The sort of leadership we need is something more radical than what we have. But if you speak out as a young Muslim you are labelled extremist.

Rock the boat sort of approach, don’t you think?

Heh. I must be very bored 😮

He’s in a little trouble, isn’t he, our Tony? He’s just run out of excuses on Iraq. He can’t find those damned ‘weapons of mass destruction’. You know – those things that we went to war in Iraq for. Well Tony – you’ve finally found those ‘weapons of mass destruction’. In Brent, through the ballot box, where we destroyed you. And I promise you, you’ll find plenty more ‘weapons of mass destruction’ come the next General Election. Because we will destroy you as surely as we destroyed Labour in Brent. And THIS is what you call ‘weapons of mass destruction’ – the power of the people! And the people are no longer with you, Tony!

    1) ‘Bilal’ above has a Deutsche Telekom IP address, coincidentally the same as Joerg’s. Joerg – don’t dick around with the comments, there’s a good chap.

    2) Whilst it’s interesting how much ‘Bilal Patel’ has ‘Had His Say’, we should remember that neither Bilal nor Patel are uncommon names in multi-culti Britain – so without further evidence it would be imprudent to suggest that they are all one and the same person – but, perhaps the Beeb-lurkers hereabouts would care to look into the matter and report back to put people’s mind’s at rest.

may i state my view that the bbc should go to the markets for finance and not force the british people to pay for its agenda.if the bbc is so confident of support then let them sink or swim in the market-place.

yesterday the witch zainab badawi tried to bully the good, kind and wise judge richard goldstone into giving the corrupt kofi anan a break.
“how can mr anan go to an upcoming important meeting with this sword of damocles hanging over him?” asked the witch.
judge goldstone was too kind to answer that corrupt men should not be going to important meetings.

Great stuff on Radio 5 Live this morning with the clueless Victoria Derbyshire.

First we have a discussion of Omar Bakri, with Victoria standing up for the plucky muslim’s rights. She also said something disparaging like this about public opinion (paraphrased)
“well, most people want to bring back hanging, but we don’t want to go down that route” etc.

Then there was a text vote on whether or not to ban the plucky muslim from returning to the UK. The result:

98% of texters said he should be banned!

Poor old Victoria, she seemed shocked by the result. Or maybe it just reflects the level of presenter airheadedness at the BBC these days.

Just after the Bakri discussion, she also got a bit shirty with a former gay man, who was gay no longer, and who criticised some aspects of the gay lifestyle and community.

Beeboid conclusion:- we are OK to call for the killing of Jews and infidels (as long as we are muslim), but don’t dare criticise the gay lifestyle (unless you are a muslim).

Good call, Eamonn. I have posted on this site before about the dilemma the BBC now finds itself in re their new best friends, the Islamopaths, and their old best friends, the gay community, given their new best friends seem to have a slight problem with the lifestyles, in fact, with the mere existence, of their old best friends.
When a proiminent figure in the gay community is slaughtered in broad daylight and a note pinned to his chest with a knife, will tedious drones like Derbyshire stop equivocating and wake up to the true nature of the problem?
Politically correct poker is truly fascinating. The rules concerning who trumps who seem to change with the zeitgeist, and now the Islamists are in the ascendency.

The left wing press such as The Time and The Sun (owned by that world renowned socialist Rupert Murdoch); The Telegraph and the Mail (the two papers of choice for all trade unionists, communists and leftie whingers); and The Express and The Star, owned by Richard Desmond the well known liberal especially on issues such as freedom of expression (when it comes to publishing porn).
