ARMS KILL…

In recent days, the BBC has been leading the charge against what it alleges is our evil arms trade. Nicky Campbell is currently running such a debate on his dreadful Big Question programme. The meme is that we need to wind up this awful immoral trade, sack all those involved, and give peace a chance. Such 1960’s hippy tripe is evidently deeply embedded in the BBC DNA. The leader of the Respect Party, Salma Yaqoob was on to lend her heavyweight insight and denied that the UK should have ANY Arms Industry.

BBC REVISIONISM

Was watching Peter Mandelson on the Marr programme. Now the Marr sofa’s prime purpose is to provide a platform for a series of leftists to come on and attack the Coalition but Mandelson, as ever, pushed the envelope. With a straight face, he emphasised to Marr the need to sustain “fiscal responsibility”. This coming from a member of the Government which has devastated British finances! Marr never challenged Mandelson’s claim and thus it is being established that Labour were fiscally prudent. 24 hour propaganda in every guise.

CAMERON CUTS LOOSE…..MOUSE ROARS

Did you see that  David Cameron has hit out at the BBC for whingeing about his Government’s cuts.

The Prime Minister blasted the ‘British Broadcasting Cuts Corporation’ for publicising every reduction in spending without properly explaining why efficiencies were necessary. Downing Street is understood to be increasingly frustrated with the way the corporation is reporting the Government’s austerity programme. Mr Cameron made his comment after giving an interview to a BBC reporter on youth unemployment.

The interview took place last week, before his Middle East trip, which was overshadowed by the revelation that he was accompanied by arms dealers and by criticism that the Government was failing to get Britons out of war-torn Libya. In a parting shot, at the end of the interview, the Premier said this was a ‘good news story’ and the ‘BBCC’ should treat it as such. The reporter asked him: ‘The BBCC?’, to which Mr Cameron replied: ‘Yes, the British Broadcasting Cuts Corporation.’

My question is this; What is Cameron going to DO about it? Go along with installing CINO Chris Patten as the next Chairman? The BBC needs confronted, undermined, punished for its bias.

BBC MISSES THE TUNISIAN STORY….

The BBC seems to have determined that the Tunisian narrative ended when the protesters chased the repulsive President Ben Ali. Democracy has spoken and freedom is now in the air. Except, of course, that is not the case….

But last week, faster than you could scream ‘Allahu Akbar’, hundreds of Islamists raided Abdallah Guech Street armed with Molotov cocktails and knives, torching the brothels, yelling insults at the prostitutes and declaring that Tunisia was now an Islamist state.

As soldiers fired into the air to disperse them, the Islamists won a promise from the interim government that the brothels would be permanently closed. In other cities, brothels were targeted, too; and there have been demonstrations throughout the country — whose economy is heavily dependent on the vibrant tourism industry — against the sale of alcohol.

Suspected Islamists otherwise preoccupied themselves with slitting the throat of a Polish Catholic priest, which, if confirmed, would be the first such sectarian murder in modern Tunisian history. And anti-Semitic slogans could be heard outside Tunisia’s main synagogue: this in a country with no history of persecution of its Jewish minority.

When the Tunisian revolution started last month, it was hailed as a template for the rest of the Arab world. But if revolutions are judged by their outcomes rather than their intentions, then the story of post-revolution Tunisia is equally instructive.

Why is the BBC so disinterested in what follows when the people speak in these lands? Answers on a Koran…

UNIVERSAL ED

Is it just me or has the BBC been going out of it’s way to ensure that Red Ed Miliband gets a rebuttal in every time the Coalition so much as opens its mouth? I was looking at this page concerning the Red One’s appearance at the Welsh Labour Party Conference today, note how they actually top and tail the item with videos of Miliband waffling in that ever so earnest but yet slightly scary wide eyed way. I don’t recall the Conservatives being granted the same frequency of coverage and rebuttal when Blair and Brown held court. Then again, if Cameron really is supporting Chris Patten as the next Chairman of the BBC, he deserves ALL he gets.

NEWSQUIZ

I had the misfortune earlier today to listen to what the BBC allege is a “topical panel quiz show”. I refer, of course, to the News Quiz. The panelists were Jeremy Hardy, Paul Sinha, Imran Yusuf and Fred Macaulay. We all know Hardy for the hard left parasite he is, feeding off the largesse extended his way by the BBC. Palestinian loving Mecca visiting Imran Yusuf  lived down to expectations and Paul Sinha (“Openly gay” according to his biog) proved to be particularly vicious in his leftist stream of hate. Macaulay got to spout about how wonderful  Scotland is under SNP rule. What a lousy programme this has become – stripped of any value other than offering lefties a chance to spew out their trash “humour”.

THERE’S NOTHING LIKE A DAME

I am sure you can’t have failed to notice that Dame Elizabeth Hoodlass has been all over the BBC today (Radio and TV) criticising “the cuts”. The BBC forgot to mention that she is a long term Labour Party member, and activist, and has been a Labour councillor on Islington Borough Council. Not quite the independent voice that the BBC would like to infer.Happily Biased BBC readers are more informed than the BBC would like us to be….

NICKY CAMPBELL SEES THE LIGHT?

This was posted a few days ago by B-BBC commentator Too True. “What do I think of the BBC today? I detect a speck of light in the darkness of that foul, propagandist, news-laundering organisation:  Just after 54 minutes into a 5 Live programme on anti-Semitism, we have this exchange:

Nicky Campbell: Are you a Muslim Abdul?

Abdul: Yes.   Nicky Campbell: You are properly horrified when there are Islamophobics attacks because of the atrocities committed by Muslims and Islamists, so why aren’t you similarly horrified when there are anti-Semitic attacks?   Abdul: If there are anti-Semitic attacks….   Yardina, Jewish Brit: There are!   Abdul: …first of all we do not condone, we do not accept from anybody…   Nicky Campbell: You seem to be looking for a justification by saying if Israel committed…   Abdul: …that’s not what I’m saying; there is suspicion obviously because the funding is coming from here, the funding is coming from America…   Nicky Campbell: Do you understand why there is suspicion from some people of Muslims in this country?   Abdul: …I appreciate that obviously… what the media portrays… that Al Qaeda is responsible…   Nicky Campbell: Why are you saying, “What the media portrays as Al Qaeda” if it’s not true? You don’t think Al Qaeda is responsible for atrocities?

Fair play to Campbell on this occasion however I have to say that I think the only light I see is that of another left-wing train coming. One welcomes forensic examination of the Islamic mindset and I would like to see much more. But the overwhelming BBC meme is that ISLAM is a force for good, but perhaps with a few nutters within it (Just like Christianity, natch) and in that context I think this is a false dawn.

MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD TO RECORD "KISSES FOR ME"?

Sometimes, when I hear Jeremy Al Bowen talking about “the Brotherhood” I wonder if he has in fact mistaken the Egypt based bunch of Jew-Hating Islamic supremacists for the Eurovision winning Brit group of the 1970’s? I listened aghast to an interview with Bowen on Today this morning (7.50am) with Bowen once again sanitising the Brotherhood to such a degree that one could hardly imagine any downside from such a “conservative” group of kindly men. The BBC is doing all it can to portray what is going on in Egypt as a wonderful example of spontaneous people power, democracy in action. It seems entirely unconcerned about the vicious anti-Semitism that characterises the Brotherhood.  How odd.
