      A wonderful must-read post nofanofP!
Ta for posting-the hounding out of even “academic, factually based” research by the soft sciences like sociologists, shows that the Gramscian Marxist bubblecar was easily souped up and pimped into a Muslim SUV.
And there`ll yet be decent people dragged behind to an appalling death onstream within the next few years-well before 2030 anyway. The brilliance of the article is that it gives you the step by step methods that the Sharia mongers are using right now…using the craven PC broken-backed academics, Lefties and Jew-baiting types that fill the Lefts ranks…and are kapok for the Muslim windsock we`re seeing rise up.
Great post-a must-read….reminds me of Christopher Caldwells study a few years back…as prophetic as Zarqawi was when he gave us all the timetable for Islam dominance using immigration, technology blagged and lawfare, charities and media…hell, he even gave us the dates for IS creation…and so he`s more honest and credible in death than the BBC are.
If we binned the Beeb…how many scuds could we buy for Raqqa and Mosul next week?

That report is absolutely effing terrifying.

Ahrouch said: “The agenda is still the same, but our approach is different now. I think we have to sensitize people, make them understand the advantages to having Islamic people and Islamic laws. And then it will be completely natural to have Islamic laws and we will become an Islamic state.”

The reporter interjected: “An Islamic State in Belgium?” Ahrouch replied: “In Belgium, of course! I am for the Sharia. Islamic law, I am for it. It is a long-term struggle that will take decades or a century, but the movement has been launched.”

The implications for the rest of Belgium are absolutely effing terrifying

The implications for the rest of Europe are absolutely effing terrifying.

The fact that the BBC is choosing to cover this up is absolutely effing terrifying.

      Thank you Nofanofpoliticains.

I lifted and repeated this part from the above article because it is so important:

“Speaking to a reporter from Radio Télévision Belge Francophone (RTBF), the public broadcasting service of the French-speaking part of Belgium, Ahrouch said: “The agenda is still the same, but our approach is different now.

Are there different kinds of terrorists? The short answer is no! All terrorism, meaning the deliberate and indiscriminate killing of civilians, is morally wrong and indefensible. But, in Europe and elsewhere people seem to think there are “good” terrorists and “bad” terrorists. My terrorists are bad, because they attack my citizens and kill my people and harm innocent lives. But, your terrorists are good, because they are motivated by desperation and frustration over the policies of your government. My terrorists kill people for no apparent reason, they are crazy and irrational. Your terrorists on the other hand are responding to specific rational decisions, such as the building of settlements and occupation. So when a Muslim extremist with a suicide belt blows himself up in a crowded theatre or shoots people indiscriminately, if they are French people that is bad, but if they are Israeli people on a bus that is good. Well, not exactly good, but understandable and somehow justified.
Note that the UN does not have an agreed definition of terrorism because the Arab countries have prevented a definition that might include the terrorist attacks against civilians carried out by Palestinians, who they do not want to be classified as terrorists. Pres. Hollande has stated that he will bring a resolution to the UN Security Council to have them unite against terrorism. But, how can they do that it they don’t know what terrorism is? On Friday a father and son were murdered while driving in a car near Jerusalem. Was that not terrorism? If the SC resolution does not incolude that as terrorism then it cannot be justified.

So now, after the horrific attacks in France, where they used suicide belts and kalashnikov automatic rifles against unarmed defenseless civilians, let us dispense with the liberal cant. All terrorism is intrinsically wrong and morally unjustifiable and because it is carried out by a Syrian or a Palestinian or an Algerian or an Egyptian Muslim, against a night club in Casablanca, a train in Madrid, a family driving in a car in Jerusalem, a rock concert in Paris or a Russian airplane, makes no difference. All terrorism is barbaric and must be fought.

Please note BBC there cannot be a double standard on terrorism.

When I ask about the Paris attacks, Celine blames French government policy.

“I think there will be a third world war. But France has been asking for it because of its intervention in Syria,” she says.

“The Paris attacks lasted three hours – but this happens everyday in Syria. And Palestinians are dying, too.

“A quarter of Paris says: ‘Pray for the French, pray for Paris’ – but they don’t do it for Palestinians. They have called for solidarity with the Palestinians for some time – but they did it as if it was fashionable.”

Celine just out of kindergarten by the looks of it, so very much in tune with the BBC agenda.

I had to smile at the spat between Ken Livingstone and Kevan Jones on today’s Daily Politics. On being stopped by a reporter Red Ken stated quite vehemently that he didn’t think an apology was necessary after making an offensive remark to Kevan Jones, regarding the latter’s mental health. We know Livingstone has some form in these matters. I’m sure everyone remembers the concentration camp guard insult.

Apparently Red Ken has apologised now after a telling off from little Jeremy. Personally I’m all for free speech, but imagine Livingstone’s reaction if anyone, particularly anyone from the right, had offended any of his fave minorities.

The other thing I recall about Livingstone is that he got away with with little harassment or explanation around his tax-avoidance that was highlighted in his last mayoral election campaign against Boris. His little problem was just allowed to go away.

That tactic was so evidently based as a trap for Boris and yet it ensnared Livingstone.

Strange thing is that in the interim we have had numerous elections, and in none of them has anyone been asked to provide their tax detail/ information. The requirement has simply evaporated.

UKIP was 8 to 1 a few days ago in Oldham. Now down to about 7 to 2 – even before Corbyn’s latest gaffes. Tories are 100 to 1 so their previous vote will likely switch en masse to UKIP,

This could be a big upset – eg how does the Labour Party get its traditional party workers out on the streets to shepherd the vote. And have the Election Officers for the borough applied the recent tightening of the postal vote arrangements ?

Not surprising the BBC keeps it all very muffled – just like they muffled Farage’s major post-Paris speech in Basigstoke on Monday, and today’s press conference by Leave.EU.

It was briefly reported on Granada Reports last night. They interviewed the labour and conservative candidates but ignored the UKIP candidate, just showing, at the end of the piece, a list of all candidates. I only watch live TV when visit my mother’s house and had thought ITV news was less biased than the bbc but from this and other ITV reports, including the immigrant swarm, I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s just as biased as the bbc. It would be nice to say ‘ at least we don’t pay for itv’, but in fact, we do because you can’t watch ITV without paying £145.50 for a TV licence. And there’s a democratic deficit in all of this because, without a TV licence, you can’t watch the Parliament channel.

As you say in a previous post there is no MSM outlet in the UK which isn’t heavily leftward leaning. We desperately need some balance to our news, we need a Fox station, but of course the liberal left establishment grants broadcasting licenses so there is no hope of getting one. Our only hope is that more and more young people get their news via the net and that some balance is available there. But the Tories seem quite happy to let the BBC try and corner that outlet as well by charging us an increased general tax dedicated to the BBC, so that the corporation can fund its internet activities without having to charge the consumer directly for them.

The Media Show on Radio 4 is indulging in some serious navel gazing about the coverage of the attacks in Paris, I mean, should ‘we’ have even used the word ‘terrorist’ – I think we’re going to find that word absent from Der Lugenpresse along with Islam Muslim, Jihad and others very soon.

series of co-ordinated attacks in Paris on Friday night resulted in the deaths of 132 people. Media outlets quickly mobilized with blanket coverage across television, radio, newspapers and social media. How do the news media outlet co-ordinate and respond to such a breaking and dangerous situation? How do you decide what is a proportionate amount of coverage? And with so many unconfirmed reports, how can you be sure of the reliability of your story? Steve Hewlett discusses the pitfalls and challenges with a panel of guests; John McAndrew from Sky News’, the BBC’s Gavin Allen, Professor of TV journalism Stewart Purvis, Jeremy Griffin from The Times and Ryan Broderick from Buzzfeed UK.

    And then:

The chair of the Commons culture, media and sport select committee has written to BBC director general Tony Hall about his concern over the corporation’s plans to spin off its TV production arm into a separate commercial unit and create BBC Studios. Conservative MP Jesse Norman, who replaced John Whittingdale in May, says he has asked Lord Hall about the impact on commercial rivals and the production sector. He tells Steve Hewlett why its important for the public to be fully consulted over the creation of the new subsidiary.

Were any readers aware this was going on? Seems the BBC is up to a little privatisation of its own without any help from external agencies, thus proving it can be done !

    • AlexM says:

Yes, this has been public knowledge for a while. The only reason for doing it is to make part of the BBC an independent production company so that what goes on there is outside the purview of the BBC governors/Trust or whatever comes next: BBC collects £3.5 billion of license fee money and pays £3.4 billion in contracts for programs over to its subsidiary where it can squander it as it sees fit, leaving only the pay and perks of the DG and his typing pool open to public scrutiny.

With only a choice of Sky or Beeb (Fox, CBS etc aren’t interested in reported atrocities in Europe) – I got the fully monty of reporters milking and padding for all they were worth. In the confines of a Cabin you really notice these things. Things were livened up somewhat by a fellow table guest who asked “had we realised that over 90% of the crew were Muslim Phillipinos, and how easy it would be for any one of them to blow up the ship to kingdom come !”… that made a few of ’em choke on their lobster I can tell you ! Not an unknown possibility though. After the beaches, the airliners, concerts, restaurants and stadiums, then the Western infidels who take cruising holidays with muslims attending to their every whim, could be on the next ‘hit’ list.

Indeed. I am certainly not going to be a happy traveller when I go through a UK airport where the security checkers have the look of possible being Muslims. But to have this fear of being blown up at 30,000 feet is obviously hysterical Islamophobia and blatantly racist to boot. Although I imagine that a few more planes being brought down by bombs may well make this fear a main stream one. No doubt we will all get stern lectures from the BBC to the effect that we should regard our possible deaths as being necessary for the advancement of multicultralism , which of course we know is merely the first phase of the creation of the Caliphate. Its a pity the BBC doesn’t understand that , but hang on perhaps they do and see it as desirable.

It seems the number of articles the BBC allows us to comment on is getting fewer and fewer. The exception being vapid celebrity tittle-tattle and technology stories (the section where Rory Cellan Jones markets Apple products). If you look at the comments after this article about bombing Syria you get a clue why the BBC doesn’t want to hear the opinions of its paymasters:

I was wondering who would be first, BBC or Channel 4, to question the French state of emergency on the grounds that “innocent” people were being detained without having committed a crime, Human rights. French Guantanamo Bay, undermining our values, -blah, blah. Channel 4 seem to be the winners. After exhibiting numerous peace-loving, patriotic, model Muslim citizens who hate ISIS, some counter-terrorism expert would have us believe these defenders of western democracy would be so incensed by these measures, they would support ISIS. Why? You would think those who were really opposed to ISIS would welcome any measure to neutralise them.

I have visited Brussel, Liege/Luik, Antwerpen, Brugge, Verviers and Charleroi on numerous occasions. What is striking is the difference that is obvious as soon as you enter either the Flemish speaking areas or the Wallonian (French speaking) areas.

Liege ? Luik, Charleroi, Verviers are run-down and full of immigrants and a hotbed of racial tension, contrast that with Antwerpen & Brugge where the cities are vibrant and full of Dutch / Belgian citizens.

I have seen many examples of Moroccan, Tunisian and Syrian immigrants attacking the local police and anyone unlucky enough to find themselves in the middle of their weekly riots. It is amazing that the BBC fails to report these weekly disturbances and that none of the UK media seems to have bothered to report on, a little digging would show that the Muslim population of Belgium is full of Islamic terrorists who are hell-bent on destroying what was a lovely country.

Mind you, I suppose that Belgium is a perfect metaphor for the EU… a country with a split personality (French or Dutch) and one that is breaking apart at the seams with the constant influx of Muslims who hate their hosts.

If the German media is anything to go by, the German approach is to keep low as well. I have just listened to the Anna Will talk show where members of the political elite have been explaining that every response to ISIS is a cunning trap set by ISIS for the unsophisticated to fall into. Hollande’s 3 months state of emergency is falling into the ISIS trap as the French are destroying their own freedoms. Our Basic Law would not allow this. The flood of refugees from Syria is another ISIS trap. Stopping the flood would make us less humane, just what ISIS wants. We Germans will do the life-enhancing thing and invite 100,000s more in. Putting troops on the ground in Syria? The quagmire trap. Unlike the stupid Americans in Iraq and Afghanistan we Germans won’t get bogged down for years in futile military action. And of course the “blowback” trap. All the “non muslims” in Germany would be incensed that crusaders were defiling Muslim lands and start blowing themseves up in beer gardens. All very Zen. By doing nothing you achieve action. Or some such ballocks. Maybe Putin will Groznyfy IS,. It would certainly solve the returnee problem

The FOI request is inappropriate and the BBC’s response is wrong.

The BBC isn’t responsible for the charity BBC Children In Need, it has its own management board and trustees so it isn’t appropriate for the BBC to respond at all. If they were being helpful they might have pointed out that any request for information should have been directed at the Charity Commission. However unless the request makes a challenge that the charity is operating outside its declared remit or is breaking charity law they are unlikely to be of any help.

The Charity Commission does make public the accounts of the charities that it oversees, such as
      BBC Children In Need 2014

I don’t think the BBC can be challenged as to how BBC Children In Need spends the money it receives. It is legitimate to ask though if what started out as an internal charity should be inflicted on us for a period that gets ever longer and over more ‘platforms’ as the years go by and also, should the best part of half-a-million pounds of licence fee money be ‘gifted’ to their charity for ‘hotel’ costs? (They claim that we sort of get it back because otherwise the BBC would have to spend money on putting on real programmes).

‘We’re just as shocked’ – Muslim messages going viral after the Paris attacks
    http://www.bbc.com/news/blogs-trending-34858514

There is a great part in the report, the irony of which, obviously escapes the Beeboid who put the piece together:

“In a viral video from Pakistan, five young men say that they are not going to be “apologetic” about the Paris attacks and “cannot be held responsible for a few deranged individuals who somehow claim to be like us”. They explain how they are no different from people elsewhere in the world: they get annoyed when they don’t get their morning coffee and “the only thing they slice and roast is a gooooood piece of juicy steak”.
But as John Lennon’s Imagine plays in the background, they add in all seriousness: “We’re the same people as you. We have the same fundamental problems as you have. We have the same hopes, dreams and ambitions as you.”

Imagine there’s no religion. Now there’s a thought.

When the terrorist attacks took place in Paris last week half of me was wondering when we would see the BBC jumping to the defence of Muslims/Islam and the other half was thinking that surely they wouldn’t dare after such a horrific event.

But no, true to form, today there has been an outpouring of pro-Muslim, pro-Islam propoganda. Some of what I’m seeing and hearing is an utter disgrace. I don’t want to see the brother or cousin of one of the attackers “laying candles” on his balcony.

My guess is they were just waiting until the initial rawness had passed because they knew people were so angry they wouldn’t want to see it.

The link that nofanofpoliticians posted about what’s happening in Belgium with the election of two Muslim politicians shows the truth that there is no two sides to Islam. Those two Muslim politicians were voted in en masse by fellow Muslims who obviously support what they stand for – Sharia Law and the Muslim Religion. Why else would they be voted for?.

I heard a little of the Jeremy Vine programme today(I was too busy to turn it off so it was warbling in the background) and the most telling comment that was sent in said it all, infact I was surprised they read it out.

The caller in question pointed out that when all the other world buildings displayed the red, white and blue of the French flag buildings in the “Muslim world” such as the Pyramids and Mecca didn’t.

The BBC employ people like Sarfraz Manzoor, who were probably ‘The Only Muslim In The Village’ , who go down the pub and watch football and think that they are ‘moderate Muslims’.

In March he went looking for the ‘moderate Muslims’ that the politicians and the BBC believe in:

Sarfraz Manzoor asks if moderate Muslims exist. If not, where did they go?

Sarfraz describes himself as a moderate Muslim. He says he isn’t offended by satirical cartoons and belongs firmly among the liberal and progressive of his religion. But now he wonders if he’s something of a rarity.

Is the idea of tolerance and integration a hopeful myth and the reality something more troubling? We’re often told the vast majority of Muslims in Britain are moderate, but what exactly does that mean? Sarfraz finds out.

He found out that now some schools are 90%+ Muslim, that girls see the hijab as part of their ‘identity’ and that the new young are ‘reclaiming’ their heritage that their parents have abandoned – they are more Pakistani than their Pakistan-born parents. I think he was quite shocked.

It seemed that Dan Damon, one of the BBC’s less bad staff, was going to produce a reasonable World Update today till he got to Jenny Hill, who was trying to convince listeners that the ‘refugees’ waiting to enter Germany, to add to the 750 000 already there, consisted of children and the handicapped and would never in anyone’s wildest nightmares represent the slightest threat to the host nation. Absolutely nauseating stuff.

Then he moved on to the presenter of the BBC Asian Network phone in programme who whinged about the imaginary wrongs done to Muslims after Paris, like one Muslim being scared to go to the bank in case he might be attacked by white people and another, on joining a solidarity rally for Paris, being asked what he’s doing there. And this was presented as evidence of a major hate wave against Muslims. (I’m not making it up.)

Then Dan Damon said something that made me feel shame for him:

“I think we share some responsibility in the media… one of the things that people want is for Muslims of good heart to come out and say this is not done in our name, this is not the God we recognise. If we’re not reporting that then we should be, we should be putting it on the TV.”

How about Muslims doing that first and then the media could report it, Mr Damon.

Then he redeemed himself to a degree with the following:

What, though, do Muslims of good heart do about the guys who set up their stalls in West London, for example, where they are selling jihadist literature. They are outraging the local population, but they, because it’s Britain, the police won’t stop them, they’re allowed to do it…”

Then he was, naturally, interrupted by the little shmuck from the ‘Asian’ Network who dodged the question entirely and went on to spout the most outrageous propaganda, saying that if people are spreading hate speech against Muslims they should be treated in exactly the same way.

But of course, they aren’t. They are arrested even for criticising Islam, while the Muslim preachers get away with encouraging murder of infidels.

There’s a helluvah lot more to Fisk in that programme but I’m afraid that I simply cannot do it. I need a long, hot shower after wading through all that crap.

The BBC knows what’s important. The home page on its ‘news’ website is currently showing two items without challenge or thinking or research.
First one: the Hijab wearing patriot (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/blogs-trending-34852817) about a Muslim woman who wore the Stars and Stripes as a headscarf on Fox News. Look at the first picture, a screenshot in which the woman, Saba Ahmed, makes the profound and BBC-approved comment of “You wouldn’t shut down churches just because there were one or two Christians acting badly”. One or two? Some would say the problem is that there are one or two THOUSAND Muslims acting badly in many Western countries, and one or two MILLION Muslims acting badly across the World. Secondly, remember Waco? Where the US government decided to slaughter 76 Christians because there were “one or two acting badly?”.

Second article: the World Economic Forum reports that the gender pay gap between men and women may take “118 years to close” (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-34842471). A table in the article lists the ten most ‘equal’ and ten least ‘equal’ countries, the latter comprising: Yemen, Pakistan, Syria, Chad, Iran, Jordan, Morocco, Lebanon, Mali and Egypt. Can any eagle-eyed readers spot anything that those countries have in common? Because the BBC sure can’t. Nope, it’s a total mystery to them, as with so many things.

Remember Hollande getting pissed on all over on his open minded/empty headed death rattle of a “motorcade” as he scuttelbutted into the Elysee Fields of Leftyland in 2012…and his tin plane getting hit by “Blitzen” as he went to give Merckel a footbath…or be a footstoolie anyway.
God is SCREAMING at us all is he not?…and every picture like these ones I mention tell one hell of a story.
F…in mounting block for the new face of the Charlemagne tin god of horsies? Can you buy a suitable scaled Ka`aba black rock to mount the clapped out Champion or Trigger that Bin Laden rightly said was the West in equine form?
Put Merckel and Hollande together-you get either Merde or Murder!
Best learn how to make our own croissants soonish…the EU will doubtless ban them within a few years.
France is fucked if their elite here are as craven as our BBC is for us…but we here know we`ll be fighting back…
A picture of Jim Morrison, a soundtrack is a stylophone by Lennons “Imagine” playing on an autoloopie.
“Sound And Vision” from the land that gave us Zola, De Gaulle and Debussy?….time to bail out on that great culture we used to admire so.

This does not seem to be quite the case in the Beeb bubble who report on his trip to Wales where apparently he has a lot of grass roots support.

Poor old BBC. The water is starting to pour from the widening cracks in the dyke (and I don’t mean Sandy Toksvig, Jane Hill or Susan Calman) and they are running out of appendages to stick in them.
The Muslim PR push just won’t find traction amongst the population at large and their political party is an unelectable basket case. Their desperate tactics are allowing the mask to slip past the point where a quick shove puts it back safely above the nose.

BBC Today on Radio 4 interviewed some French Socialist politico loonie who told us that the deaths of so many people at the hands of Islamic terrorists was not as bad as the Front National gaining power ! I’ve heard this from the Fascists before, and it just goes to show how little regard they have for the people, and democracy.
One of the most incredible things she came out with, was that the people might vote Front National because they’ve been telling them this would be the result of Fascist Leftist policy for years.

Obviously reality is totally lost on this cossetted woman.

The BBC would do well to note the word ‘terrorist’ that other media outlets are using.. What is it about the BBC that they cannot bring themselves to use the word ‘terrorist’ and ‘muslim’ in the same sentence. Instead they prefer neutral words like Jihadi or militant. They are showing their true colours by romanticising and championing these muslim terrorists and not describing them accurately. There is no place for political correctness when you are dealing with murdering muslims, as the French police and security services are now showing.

Well worth a listen – James Delingpole and Douglas Murray have a chat about the Paris terrorist attacks:

    November 18, 2015
When are we ever going to understand that Islamist terrorists really mean it? This is the theme of a special Paris edition of Radio Free Delingpole starring the go-to expert at dark times like these – Douglas Murray, Associate Director of the Henry Jackson Society. Douglas has been warning for years that attacks like the one on Paris were coming. How did he know? Because unlike so many politicians and commentators who find it more seductive to bury their heads in the sand, Murray listens to what the Islamists are saying, studies what they do and finds little reason to believe that peace and love are about to break out soon if only we light a few more candles and get James Taylor to sing You Got A Friend again – maybe this time with the whole Laurel Canyon crowd. So: who’s to blame? Where do we go from here? Are Britain and the US next on the list? And is there any damn thing we can do about it? Douglas has all the answers…

    • JimS says:

That means that you have a choice from eight that are good to eat.

Get another ten from the same source and now you have a choice from sixteen, which is 60% more than the original ten that you were offered but these are all safe!

There are of course now four ‘bad’ grapes, but we can’t call them that because that would stigmatise the other 16, (and the others queuing up to get in!).

Eat enough ‘bad’ grapes and your body might adapt.

If “Private on Manouevres” is NOT a BBC staffer-I`ll be surprised.
Yet his comments are loathed-the good sense of the likes of Wisconsin Bird get top ratings from the Demos.
Imagine ther`ll have to be some “technical glitch” soon to close them down
“Clear The Streets”…Inayat and Medhi are coming to the BBCs aid as we speak.
And yes, Today features Webbmeister worrying some French Senator(eh?) re the Rise of the FLN….oh no!
(To quote Bruce from Family Guy!).
No matter WHAT Islam does-the BBC wish to match it from within, without the inconvenience of having to buy their own Stanley knives.
The cossetted liberal lefties and IS want the same thing-but at least IS march under a black flag and I`ll know `em…the BBC stroll gaily under a stonewashed rainbow ribbon and think they`ll corrode us all from within by pouring olive oil onto the flames they`re warming themselves over…with an option of leaving trails for ISIS to spot the rest of us.
Traitors…IS tell more truth than they do. Evil or evil deferred….our call.

Breakfast decided to have a virtually all female show with the two female presenters. Even Steph was doing her bit at the NEC careers event in Birmingham, the usual ‘why oh why aren’t girls going into engineering.’
So no discussion of male suicide rates, or the banning of International Men’s Day at York university on the very day a 21 year old male student took his own life. The fact that men are more likely to be unemployed, homeless and if in work, die at work doing the jobs the women don’t seem to want.
I’m not sure if the decision to use the two women presenters is the beeb making a point!

I saw the report on RT. Their reporter Paula Slier has my considerable respect. She was holed up in her office under police instructions because the killer was thought still to be nearby, and whilst having just witnessed the aftermath of the murders, was reporting in a calm, controlled and lucid fashion.

Unlike the BBC wimp, was it Graham Satchell in Paris, poor boy, who started to cry because he had been standing in the rain for a couple of days. Had he just seen someone dead on the pavement and another dying being carried away on a stretcher, a few minutes before, both stabbed to death, as had the magnificent Paula?

She, and many other of RT’s reporters are streets ahead of their equivalents in the BBC.

I’m old enough to remember the Aberfan disaster in 1966 where an infants school was buried underneath a coal slag heap. In grainy black and white, I clearly remember the reporter (but not his name), he wore an old style Mac with tie belt, and with microphone in hand he slowly spoke of how this tragedy had unfurled. His voice broke many times, but through gritted teeth he relayed his report. The same when Walter Cronkite reported the death of Kennedy, clearly moved, he carried on reporting. On the other side of the coin I remember Fiona Philips (now defunct from a morning news show) reporting on the death of Princess Diana, totally unemotional as though she was reading the weather forecast.
