Start the week open thread

Time for a fresh open thread……a Tory conference in full swing, mass Muslim immigration, a war in the Middle East with the Turks and Russians curiously bombing everyone except the one target they should be hitting…the Islamic State, Europe in turmoil and Peston’s hair….the BBC newsroom must be working full-steam ahead, all hands to the pumps, to keep up with all that and shape it into a narrative that pleases the left-wing sensibilities….

Anybody watch the BBC’s attempt to decimate Britain First, 06/10/15, BBC3. The narration contained all of the usual descriptions: Extreme right etc. But, I thought that the portrayal by the deputy leader, Jayda, was quiet and measured. Well done to them for their attempt to portray a balanced view of the muslim question.

Apart that is from the obvious set up by the BBC when interviewing them outside court. Whilst attempting to give the interview to a BBC news reporter they were continually heckled, barracked and provoked by what I can only see as a plant.

The hope being that they would lose it with the heckler and therefore have not only the news footage of it but also the documentary footage, all for convenient future use.

They’re not wrong and in some ways I admire their tenacity, but with such supporters, on which the media are always going to focus, they are never going to go ‘mainstream’ or gain my support. There were definite shades here of the hatchet job done on UKIP pre election.

I found it ironic that we barely saw the interviewer – Miles Double-Barrelled – just a glimpse with his hair pulled back in a ‘man-bun’. (what was that about first impressions ? ) I got the feeling that he was a ‘media-studies’ grad from a few years ago, couldn’t get employment so diversed into self made films.

I think all these ‘kids’ who proclaim shock horror at facing alleged racism and terminology, like a Victorian lady swooning at a swear word, must really have been bathed in cotton wool as children. What planet are they on ? They have got to ‘man up’ and get real that not everyone has their views, and like it or not, face the fact of life that there will ALWAYS be racism/discrimination whether its skin colour, faith, age, and weight. Just because they are journalists, tv presenters or film makers, doesn’t give them the right to be moral guardians for the rest of us.

I may not agree with the views of some, but I loathe the righteous indignation by those in the media who believe THEY are right and no-one else is.

Yes the old …. attempting to shout a question,(out of earshot of recipient) … that of course appears louder due to mic position trick … then mournfully bleat, “but refused to answer our question”.
UKIP supporters on here have viewed that trick, many times.
If you watch it back, all of the questions raised about Islam are valid, the facts relayed by Britain First are sound, including about halal funding terrorism … that the BBC tried to portray as outright lies.
A typical hatchet job, insidiously, dressed up carefully as part human interest story … if the incompetent, and self serving tory traitors spent a tenth of the time on this as they do vilifying the poor eh!.
The bottom line who is more factual about Islam, its premise, demographically, its effects on our society?
and the threats in a multitude of ways to it?
Agree with them or not, Britain First …….. or the BBC?
Character assassination always the way, however carefully disguised
Yet again “shooting the messenger/s”, and genuinely, there are bigger players than the BBC at hand too.

    One has to wonder

Hugh Jackman (Australian actor starring as Captain Hook in the new movie Pan): S’truth mate, you’re an adult, right?
Charlie Stayt (BBC presenter of current affairs): No, I’m still a child… well, inside.
Hugh Jackman: (somewhat flustered by Stayt’s admission) Well, there you go… I guess that’s the point of this film.

It would be nice to think the BBC man was joking and somehow talking in the spirit of this new movie version of the Peter Pan story – which is a children’s story very much about the state of being a child.

Given the fact most BBC current affairs presentation is now pitched at a reading age of about ten, one has to wonder.

If she was a white woman saying that about black people or “BME”s there is almost no doubt at all she would spend some time in prison. The drunken woman on the tram said a lot of offensive things but, iirc, she didn’t suggest that whole races should be murdered, and she was put inside.

I’ll bet she will either get away with it completely or receive a small fine with a judge telling her that she must not allow herself to be caught again, or else she would get another telling off with an added finger wagging.

Yesterday two BBC business news presenters appeared to be mildly amused by the brutal treatment handed out to Air France managers by a mob of “workers”. I commented that this seemed to me to reflect a much broader BBC cultural attitude towards violent /criminal protest.

Today, Hugh Schofield, writing in BBC Pravda, claims “French political and social culture is still strongly under the influence of 1789-93, though of course with an admixture since of conservative counter-currents.” He goes on to say that “Today, the French talk of “economic crisis” as a fact of life. There is mass unemployment, and people live on very low incomes. Politics changes nothing, so the mood favours dissent.Secondly, there is the effect of social media, which exaggerates grievances and whips individuals into states of righteous hatred.”Unions – paradoxically – are weak in France, in the sense that membership levels are low. They are strong only in the sense that the law accords them a central place in the running of workers’ lives. They are thus part of the “system” – “and the system is one that many working people feel has failed them.So these people take direct action, outside of official union channels.” And he signs off with “If the outside world is shocked by the Air France incident, some would say it is because the rest of the world has found new ways of dealing with labour conflict.Others might say the rest of the world is docile: at least in France workers still fight the fight.”

So there we have it brothers and sisters- its OK to roll out the tumbrils as “the system” has failed. The Air France saga is not because this airline is uncompetitive, or that a socialist government is incapable of reforming the French economy, or that the French far-left have promoted violent protest for decades.

The French economy is in crisis because it is devoid of economic freedom. Employers have to contend with a 3000 page Code du Travail, enforced by an army of bureaucrats, which covers how they may operate in the smallest detail. Would any foreign investor really want to put their money into France, only to be told what to do by a curious alliance of Poujadists and Communists? The answer is obvious.

Migrant crisis: EU to begin seizing smugglers’ boats

The smugglers are not smuggling boats. They are smuggling people – who wish to be smuggled.

The questions the BBC doesn’t ask:
If the force captures a boat loaded with people on the high seas what do they do with them? That’s the people, not the boats. It would be ironic if they were sent to ‘refugee’ camps in Europe under far better and safer conditions than when they left.

How will the force distinguish smuggler from passenger if the smugglers don’t resist but simply blend in?

So I popped round my Mums this morning, and she had the BBC breakfast news on, it got to the London news section so they started with the weather, then went on to mention that a Walthamstow Street had to be closed last night due to 200 teenagers “rioting”.
That was it no further explanation, a quick browse of the web revealed the “rioters” were a diverse crowd, but as it was over some sort of love triangle instead of police brutality, the ethnicity of the “rioters” was not an issue.

After 20 minutes I came to the conclusion that what it was telling me about Syria was almost certainly a pack of lies. Unfortunately, exactly the same is also true of the BBC, Sky and ITV, which instead of Putin’s lies, tell me the equivalent from Obama and Turkey.

It has certainly come to something when national broadcasters are no more reliable than those of a discredited semi-dictatorship which has an appalling record of lies, arms smuggling, data theft, ultra vires judicial activity, treachery and putting its own self-interest above everything else.

And the Russians aren’t perfect, either.

Currently not being reported on the BBC …

Cameron has just voiced disquiet about the indoctrination of Muslim schools in the UK. According to an IPPE report there are 250,000 Muslim children being ‘educated’ in roughly 2000 madrassas in the UK. They are NOT regulated by Ofsted.

Did anyone else know this was happening in our country?

I had no idea we had imported these appalling centres of brainwashing into the UK.

Apparently the kids are physically beaten in these schools. Although we are not permitted to know exactly what goes on the report found evidence for 146 beatings in just the first few months of 2011.

But don’t worry Mohammad Shahid Raza, chairman of MINAB, set up by Muslim organisations to improve standards in mosques, said he would now treat the issue as a matter of urgency (phew, for a moment there I thought he was going to blow smoke up our arses):
He said ‘These figures are very, very alarming and shocking.’ He then went onto say he wanted the issue to be dealt with through self-regulation. Hmmmm, would that be the same self regulation that led to 146 beatings in just a few months of 2011?

How can we have allowed this to happen? Where are the BBC’s documentary departments whilst this despicable behaviour continues? Where are the police?

Yes I think most of us know of the Madrassas in the UK. Muslims are supposed to be able to recite the Qur’an in its original Arabic, and if they can’t pronounce it correctly they are beaten.
Thank goodness they never actually know what those words actually mean ! Several of them are so hopelessly thick & stupid that they cannot accept that translations have been written, and attempt to learn Arabic themselves to understand it !

When I rather mischievously asked a Labour councillor her thoughts on equality with Christianity, where the law states that the religious services must be in the vernacular, and applying it to other religions, apparently equality doesn’t actually have anything to do with equality on that front (or any other!).

So Muslims have to rely on Imams to tell them what the Qur’an actually says and how it applies to their everyday lives, and as in all communities, there are good & bad, who tell them what they have been taught by others.
In this sense there are no moderate Muslims or extremists, only those guided this way or the other.

They are taught a basic framework at the Madrassa and also at home, and as Yasmin Alibhai Brown told us, their teachings on non Muslim women are of particular concern.

To be fair to the BBC, they have run several documentaries on Madrassas, but more on a line of child beating, and not the unacceptability of Islam. They have also produced documentaries on Sharia courts operating in the UK.

The Police unfortunately are in the same place as they were in Rotherham – not wanting to offend anyone!

Quran (4:52) – Those (Christians) are they whom Allah hath cursed…
Quran (5:59-60) – This verse begets the infamous belief on the part of some Muslims that Jews are descended from swine and apes, since it says that wicked Jews (at least) were transformed by Allah in the past.

Let’s not forget the invitation to smite the unbelievers at the neck.

I hope that is helpful to the MCB.

Cameron makes a speech attacking extremism and refers to madrassas where kids are indoctrinated. Muslim Council objects and Cameron will back down. But there will be a bit more in the pot for organizations representing ‘moderate’ Moslems and prevention of radicalisation. To coincide the BBC run a programme on Britain First, denouncing them as racists. Immediately Cameron’s pals in the UAF issue a statement claiming that Britain First are fascists which means for them that Britain First is a legitimate target for no platformism and violent disruption of their meetings. Prediction: look out Britain First, Cameron will be gunning for you as an example of extremism.

Cameron …. you doublespeaking quisling, traitor
Let ME, be clear, if children in a Madrassa learn the Quran, and Hadith … which they ALL do, we’ve got children being taught that they shouldn’t mix with people of other religions; all other religions are perverted, being beaten; being told wives can be beaten, mandated hatred to Jewish people, being told lying to any none Islamic adherent is justified, taking non muslim sex slaves is justified, jihad is obligatory and kill the infidel wherever you find them.

Exactly. Its not that these kids are being taught a perversion of Islam its that they are being taught Islam as usual. The liberal left and Cameroons must surely understand the basic fact that Islam is unable to coexist with a society run on western values. But now that we have millions of Muslims they can’t admit to us this truth. So they whistle in the dark and hope that the BBC can help keep the lid on things by showing how ordinary and unthreatening Muslims are, after all they bake lovely cakes don’t they, until something , no idea what , turns up and solves the problem. Of course the fools compound the problem by allowing more and more of these aliens into our country and making concession after concession to the Muslims. With each passing year the problem gets worse and Islam gains more ground. The best thing that Cameron can do is to start us all at the Madrassa so we can learn how to behave in our Islamic future! However, I think that they may have worked out that if the sleeping British public saw what life was going to be like for them, then the balloon would go up! No bacon rolls, no alcohol , no gay sex, let alone marriage, rape as the new norm for all young girls plus the knife, forced marriages, burkas, no democratic voting, the list could go on for pages. What a happy future we will all have!

Camerons leftie speech to the Tory conference has been ‘hailed’ by the BBC as ‘Blairite’ and indicative of his admiration of Blair.

I can understand why he might look up to Blair, the length in office, and the multi millions he’s made. Where he’s wrong though is that Blairs politics are despised by both the right and the left, and even the BBC seems to feel a little ambivalent about the Blair years now.

Blair stayed in office not because the public supported his policies, but for a myriad of other reasons.

The Tories chose some truly dreadful old buffers as leaders who would have struggled against any Labour leader let alone a slick operator like Blair / Mandelson / Campbell, and their control of the media.

Hiding massively unpopular policies like mass immigration and an inept opposition who didn’t see it was happening.

Enormous tax receipts which allowed Blair to squander like crazy.

Friendly media, such as the BBC, and News International. Celebrity backing.

Public ignorance. They didn’t know what Blair was up to – they do now.

I don’t think Cameron would be able to get away with Blairism Mk2 if Labour had an electable leader, fortunately for him they don’t.

I think they had him recycling old PCs or some such. The thing is that Sir Alan’s business empire is pretty mickey mouse, and he doesn’t actually have a load of meaningful £100,000 a year positions to fill. The hundred grand was really just the prize for winning, dressed up as a job offer. When Stella English sued him for not giving her a real job, they changed the format so that the Sid James lookalike is now going to be the winner’s “business partner”, which completely negates the whole concept of the programme. Why have a 12 week “interview process” when you could just spend half an hour looking at their business plan?

Really all the programme is now is a bit of light entertainment, watching idiots fail at simple business tasks. It’s like X Factor for people who know what a spreadsheet is.
