‘Trust Is A Huge Issue!’ Says Ed Miliband

Number 10 Downing Street is the headquarters and London residence of the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
A glimpse of the future……Ed Miliband issues his new set of pledges that he promises to implement in government

Ed Miliband on the Today programme yesterday told us that ‘Trust is a huge issue’…so much so he set out his promises to the nation literally carved in stone…and has constantly attacked David Cameron as someone who can’t be trusted to fulfill his election pledges.

Such a massive emphasis on his determination to carry out his own promises must surely mean any deviation from that would be headline news….trust in politicians apparently being the big, raging question on everyone’s lips if you believe the BBC.

How then when in a BBC interview Miliband’s chief political strategist tells us this….

‘I don’t think anyone is suggesting that the fact that he’s carved them in stone means he’s absolutely not going to break them or anything like that’

…..does the BBC essentially ignore that ‘bombshell’ comment when they spent days wittering in about Cameron’s ‘brainfade’ and yesterday filled the airwaves with the mutterings of a loose-lipped LibDem who told us the shattering news that Cameron may think he won’t get a full majority?

You have to look fairly hard to find the story about this on the website…not on the frontpage, not on the UK page, but it is tucked away on the Election page…..what is on the frontpage is this…a story from 1892 no less….

How a gingerbread biscuit took out the prime minister

Nick Robinson fails to mention the comment in this piece in which he says ‘So, what is obsessing politicians of all parties behind-the-scenes is the debate about what a legitimate government would look like. ‘…...you might think a man who wants to be PM who makes promises, and promises to keep those promises, might not seem legitimate should he take office with votes he received on the basis of those promises…so why does Robinson not raise the issue?…..after all he has Tweeted cynically on the comments…

anyone out there actually think Sky TV is even more biased towards UKIP than the BBC.Whenever I switch on Sky they always have sly secondhands attacks on UKIP which they do not apply to the main parties. The BBC does that as well but at least tries to mitigate it by giving reasonable airtime to UKIP representatives

They and those that control the media cannot believe or accept that any but the current main three could possibly be a real contender of any consequence in this forthcoming general election-well let’s hope they might be found wanting. The biggest issue for all of us should be to steer this nation away from the clutches of a despotic beaurocracy now slowly dieying the EU.

It’s probably because the people that are running most of the media are foreigners. I always find it amazing the participants in a fabulously well financed site like this choose to get their opinions from non doms and/or Russians/Australian -Americans. Not very British imo.Hope you lot doff your cap to your betters when you leaf through your copy of the gutter press.

No racists on this site, only seekers after truth. That being so we don’t meekly accept the words of Labour HQ, or the BBC ( are they different?). Rather we seek out what seems to us to be a true version of events around the world from a rich variety of news sources. You see we on this site believe in plurality of views, not just those spoon fed us by the monopolistic state funded broadcaster. You should try and become more widely read, it gives you a better perspective on life rather than the narrow leftist one that you seem to have.

Trust in me, just in me
Shut your eyes and trust in me
You can sleep safe and sound
        Knowing I am around

        Slip into silent slumber
        Sailin on a silver mist
        Slowly and surely your senses
        Will cease to resist

Trust in me, just in me
Shut your eyes and trust in me

That sentiment can extend to any of the leaders. I find it very amusing that Boris the buffoon is so well thought of. His tenure in London ,soon to be a part timer, has added up to painting a blue line around London for cyclists to die on, opening up London real estate to foreign investors, contrary to the interests of ordinary people needing homes and soon to be,changing the historic skyline of the capital by granting permission for another 120 shards to be built.
And for all that the man of jolly japes will probably end up as PM. Such is the basis of British politics and the stupid no nothing electorate. Better to vote for a cardboard cutout.

Why should Robinson issue such a hasty correction which suspiciously sounds like an apology?

Because he’s been leaned on, that’s why.

Trust! I do trust Ed Miliband to wreck our country from end to end. He will do more damage than even Blair and Brown did. He will ensure that England is broken up into regions gerrymandered so as to suit Labour. He will bring in millions more immigrants, and he will lower the voting age so children can vote. Both measures aimed solely at bolstering the Labour vote. I don’t think that the SNP will have any difficulty moving him to the left!
And of course throughout all of this he will be helped by his propaganda arm , the BBC ,who will treat him not as Moses but as a God himself, come to save us and lead us to the promised land of Marxist Utopia that the BBC long for.
This man is dangerous to our country !

which is exactly why everyone needs to vote Conservative tomorrow. The only constituency that should vote UKIP is South Thanet to get Farage as an MP but otherwise everyone HAS to vote Tory or we are all stuffed

What about Doncaster North? If you vote tory there, you let Ed Miliband win his seat. If tories vote UKIP in Doncaster North, They can ensure that Ed loses and is not even an MP anymore. If there are any tories in Doncaster North reading this, do this country a favour and vote UKIP.

There is only one place people should put their cross tomorrow (too late for the postal voters) it is for the “least worst” outcome in the national elections, which means for many people tactical voting.

There is no party with all the answers or ability to fulfil all the promises, it’s about the bigger picture of general direction of travel.

You can always vote differently in the local elections to support “your” party.

It will interesting when they compare the voting %ages between the two.

A few years ago the Lib Dems got 30% in the locals and 15% in the European elections on the same day. That probably sent them quite a message!

All of them, Labour, conservative, LibDems, SNP, are toxic dangerous to our country.

The only one we can give benefit of the doubt to is UKIP. Thats simply because they havnt had a chance to betray the UK so far.

Meanwhile, I click on Facebook and get…

BBC News shared BBC Shorts’s video.

    “Yes Sir, I Can Boogie”

5 MAY: ‪#‎BBCArchive‬: Dancing the night away in 1997 after the Labour party win. ‪#‎GE2015‬ Singing along to the chorus with some interesting moves… “Things can only get better” ‪#‎BBCShorts‬ ‪#‎BBCElection‬ ‪#‎Labour‬ @BBCElection

Well, yes, happy days ‘n all.

Odd thing to run now, surely?

    Comments could be going better.

    I liked this one:

Adrian Murphy No wonder they’re smiling, they knew that Gordon Brown was 48hrs away from stealing £200 billion from ordinary people’s pensions

Luckily for BBC staff, their unique variety of pension can only go up as well as up.

    I heard Labour’s Newsnight’s Chris Cook a few minutes ago…quoting the IFS.

He, together with his BBC colleagues, still fails to mention the IFS criticism ‘that if you vote for Labour, you do not know what you’re voting for’.

Once again the BBC fail to point out that Labout in promising to balance the CURRENT books…are using cynical ploy, like the Mob to run two books, one they’ll balance, the other to hide away their borrowing. On top of that there’ll be PFI.

The BBC have also continued to edit out the IFS / OBR’s criticism of Labour’s tax policy…in particular that the return to the 50% rate will only bring in £110m not the £3.5bn that Labour planned.

Now why on earth would the BBC avoid mentioning this critique of Labour’s most mentioned, high profile policy???????

    Is it because they’re twisted?

The UK is heavily reliant of the City of London. If Labour get in, there is a good chance that they will relocate to Switzerland, or even Hong Kong/Singapore.

HSBC are already planning to move to HK.

It really looks as though the BBC has got to a stage where it really dosnt give a damn what criticism it receives regarding its appalling bias as long as its beloved Labour gets into power. I think today has been possibly one of the worse so far, unbelievable. If Labour do get into power, thanks to the BBC, any investigation that may arise regarding there conduct will go on deaf ears because Labour are in power and will nullify any inquiry.
If it were a fair fight then perhaps you could accept the outcome of the election and move on, but witnessing what we have makes that very difficult.
Any respect and trust i had for the BBC has gone……
Lets just hope Labour don’t succeed and we can all celebrate.

The Beeb have relentlessly supported The Tories throughout the election. I would suggest that at no time has the issue of the Tories management of the economy been scrutinised. This is a big deal. This issue regarding ‘ Labour crashed the economy ‘ has not been discussed. These are really big issues to understand.if you don’t understand these issues then you really shouldn’t vote because you don’t understand how the most important element in your life operates and the rewards that arise from it
Instead the Beeb have stuck to mainly spending pledges. This frames Milliband as a spender and Cameron as a cutter which frankly has nothing to do with the central issue of economic growth. In fact no one has talked about where is growth coming from and whether this is really a recovery.

Speaking of Trust, here’s spouse Rory Cellan Jones @Ruskin147 (it’s his personal account, despite his job and employer heading the bio) tweeting something sensible in the form of a question, the day before the vote:

http://t.co/al0JHkGylB Mirror undercover video of UKIP candidate saying he’ll shoot opponent – biggest scoop of election?

So far twitter seems underwhelmed. Nitwit statements are not really working folk up as much as not reporting scoops such as the #Edstone, segregated meetings, vote-rigging community leaders, shadow minister hole digging, etc.

Lucky for Rory, any complaint will likely be easily dismissed before his missus needs to do so.

After ignoring UKIP for days, the BBC now miraculously lead on a UKIP story…. The one about a UKIP candidate being suspended.

Funny how they ignore all the suspended candidates from other parties.

Radio 5 in Bedford had an interview with an ex nurse who has had chemotherapy for breast cancer – now appears fortunately to be in remission. She was very effusive on how the NHS has got better since the late 1990s.

The GP also stated that in the 1980s (Thatcher) there were 6 applicants for every position as a GP – now only half the vacancies are being filled.
