7.25 this morning on breakfast BBC a Rotherham report. Oooh time for some hard hitting stuff then. Well no, Rotherham together campaign or somesuch where shop keepers are being leafleted on how to spot grooming. So are they in a corer shop or Kebab emporium, no a hideously white old woman’s wool shop. When we do get to the heritage mass rape issue we are then told how racist people are to ask for a white taxi driver. Cue, no one has been arrested and surely that should be the point of the piece. Instead we are driven around Rotherham by a taxi driver moaning about being the victim in all this. Token interview at end with blurred out white girl victim. Disgraceful misreporting by the BBC who produce another social worker piece that essentially blames everyone but the actual people who carried out these foul acts. I will lodge a complaint, yet again, but they seem to have me on a troublemakers list so I don’t get replies these days. I might get a knock on the door from a policeman just back from a Turkish half term break to tell me how to think and behave. This country is stuffed.

There was report on Look North the other evening, live from an Anglican church in Rotherham. They were holding a service for the people of the town in light of what has been revealed to have been happening there, re the Muslim rape gangs; council cover-ups; police inaction etc etc. The reporter was interviewing the curate who proved to be a typical lefty “lets all hug the world better” type, in which the C of E seem to do such a good line of clergy, he described how it was an event for people of “any religion or none at all” etc. The reporter then asked him if the people who had been invited included those most directly affected by the grooming gangs – those being members of the “Asian” community within the town. I listened to the question in disbelief, the curate assured us that of course those people were invited and were present in the church. The dhimmitude really was incredible, even by Look North’s standards – as if the section of society from which the perpetrators of this sexual abuse came were those most directly affected by it and deserving of sympathy, understanding and support.
It put me in mind of Mark Steyn’s line about “Multi-cultural Tourettes” kicking in whenever the media discuss Muslims or Islam and always try to put a positive spin on them and it. It seems to be the default position at the BBC, regardless of whatever the Mohammedans get up to.

    ‘GIANT… INFLATABLE….’ letdown

When it comes to that difficult journalistic challenge of how to express that correct amount of outrage at the sight of fruit-based racism in a sporting context – the BBC have something of a track record.

Who can forget BBC 5 Live’s Victoria Derbyshire as she egged on the Guardian contributer and ‘secret footballer’ to give us a good example of dressingroom banter with a racial flavour. Having elicited the show stopping “I’ve known a banana to have been left on a black player’s seat”, our Victoria’s sharp intake of breath was felt right across Salford and for a moment sucked half the oxygen from the Greater Manchester region (I know because the Met Office reckon it was the worst something or other since records began-ish) .

Now I like to see a bit of showbiz and spectacle (not so much the racism) so imagin my anticipation this morning as the BBC Breakfast sports sofa bloke tells me about some racial aggro at the football match involving Feyenoord and Roma (odd, I thought this was a strictly English problem hey-ho).

I was about to withness a “GIANT INFLATABLE BANANA”

If true this would eclipse the excitment of the Serbia-Albania international when a drone bombed the pitch with a ‘politically provocative’ flag.

So was the banana just puff? Or does it live up to its BBC billing as “GIANT” ?

Was it big – or was the BBC just pleased to see it?

    Radio 4 short news at 10 a.m.

It is now de rigueur for the [Labour-supporting] BBC to remind us of the NHS A&E waiting-time target of 95% of admissions to be seen within 4 hours … and any [Tory] failure to meet it. Thus, we were told that there had been a slight improvement in the percentage of patients being seen within the target time – now 92% – but that this was still below the target 95%.

Since repeating certain mantras is now regarded as news, here’s a Latin one of my own; feel free to use it ad nauseam:

The drip drip drip of NHS scare stories continues!

Today it was some poll of NHS workers saying that things had got worse in the last two years because of lack of funding (of course, and no mention of mass immigration as a factor). All this despite ring-fencing of the NHS budget. So the BBC goes with the Labour agenda and never asks the awkward questions which would mitigate criticism of the system by explaining increased demand.

The people seem to mean well, but it’s all haphazard, loosely managed, unplanned and Heath Robinson-ish. If a firm of auditors went in it would look like a job-creation scheme for a bunch of 40-60 yr old women with spare time on their hands.

Last night the papers had a story on how the daughter of a victim of JJ, aka ‘Mohammed’, wanted him to have ‘a bullet between the eyes‘. Understandable, you would think, that a daughter should feel emotional, but those charged with finding and dealing with him have the law to follow. No story, really.

But the Beeb are always spoiling for a fight to push their ‘progressive’ agenda. So today’s headline is that relatives want him caught alive. The strap on the BBC NHS News Channel is ‘Relatives of victims want militant caught alive‘. So, not only are the entire army of ISIS butchers to be referred to as ‘militants’, but the most blood-thirsty scumbag of all is to be given the same ‘respect’.

It’s interesting, too, when we now know that the authorities were aware of JJ’s identity for some time – and thought they had a non-disclosure deal with the media – that the BBC story includes ‘Yesterday the police arrived at his house ‘ with a film of – you guessed it – police arriving at his house yesterday. What was the significance of that, when they knew about him ages ago? It smells like a bit of mutual PR spinning agreed by the Beeb and the Plod. Cliff Richard style?

It’s remarkable how this story – and Saville – pushed the jaw-dropping immigration figures down the order yesterday. It’s immigration that warrants a follow-up today, but instead we get this nonsense debate on ‘a bullet’ v ‘take him alive’.

On the run up to the general election, a huge number of ‘public’ NGO’s (Labour stuffed Quangos) were set up by Gordon Brown are due to ‘spring-into-action’ soon. But there are new limits on using faux ‘charitity’ funding of political parties before a general election – hence the new ‘Transparency Act 2014’ was made law. Remember when Blair’s government had the ‘not’ very highly qualified ‘Science Minister’ who just happened to be the well known supermarket baron and the mysterious patron of the ‘Common Purpose’ org behind the BBC. He was the largest single donator to the Labour party at the time. Lord ‘supermarket’ has also registered another (private) CASH ‘charity’ as a ‘non-party’ charity funding for the sole public purpose of promoting EU values (outside the BBC) and opposing UKip in the general election. Perhaps we should avoid THAT supermarket – as its clear that the money will veer towards BBC objectives.

But what about the girls families? You know the ones who had no idea their daughters (the very same daughters they monitor 24×7 and interrogate them when they are just 5 minutes late home from school, the very same daughters who cant go anywhere without a male chaperone) left home and went abroad without the families knowing. Of course it wouldn’t do to report them missing whilst they were still in the UK or even near a Turkish Airport or Railway Station. No they had to wait until they were sure their girls were out of harms way (the dreadful UK Police). Only then could they issue their statement about the fact they had no idea etc and ‘it’s not like them, fun loving girls’. Thus holding off being too closely questioned by the authorities who don’t want to appear Islamaphobic whilst maintaining the Kudos within the community of sending their offspring to take part in a Jihad. Other than claiming benefits and free health care, housing etc, why are these families still in the UK and have not been kicked out?

‘The party is believed to be considering a pledge to cut fees from £9,000 to £6,000 in England if it wins power.’

Ah, so not so much a pledge, but a belief in a consideration of one. Clearly no space for that wee bit of context in the PR poster headline, eh, Nick, Norm, Danny, Hugs…?

‘BBC Political Editor Nick Robinson said Labour had yet to work out how to pay for the pledge.’

I think Millitwat needs a history lesson.

The £9000 tuition fee limit was introduced as a result of the Browne Review, instigated by Labour in November 2009, 6 months before the election. The outcome was pretty much known from the start – university fees were deemed to be too low and whoever governed the country after the next election (6 months later) was going to have to increase fees. The Browne review (Labour sponsored, remember) recommended the £9000 limit.

It’s also worth pointing out to Millitwat that Labour introduced University fees in the first place, relying on MPs from north of the border to get it through – even though those MPs represented constituents that would not be affected by the fees. The West Lothian (loathsome) mafia at work.

Academia hasn’t helped itself here either. The £9000 was supposed to be top limit, not a fixed price. They can charge less if they wish.

Having recently had to do the rounds of universities with offspring it seems they’re all charging the same amount anyway so it might as well be the fixed fee. The understanding appearing to be that if they didn’t charge up to the cap, then they would be considered a “lesser” university or that student might consider the course to be in some way inferior. In any other commercial practise, this would be considered price fixing; why aren’t they being investigated in the same way that supermarkets or oil companies would be in similar circumstances?

At least Millitwat this time seems to be aiming his sights at people old enough to vote.

As we all know, the taxpayer injected several billion pounds into Lloyds in the form of shares for equity.

Lloyds is now making a profit and paying dividends and the shares are now being sold by the Government at a profit. (The Shares have to be sold as a condition of the original injection of capital to comply with EU regulations)

So it was a profitable investment – not a bailout.

The emergency injection of funds by the last Government is probably one of the few things I agree with – however it was almost certainly at the suggestion of the BoE who no doubt run disaster recovery scenarios, rather than A Darling.

And a final note – the “£1.3 trillion” or whatever the loony left scream was the cost of the crisis is totally inaccurate. Most of the money was in the form of guarantees of creditworthiness and never actually had to be realised – and the Government made some nice earnings on fees for the service. – like they are with the loans to Ireland – borrow at 3%, ask Ireland for 6% back.

Northern Rock was a classic case of a bank being brought down by panic. As long as depositors keep their money ‘on deposit’ everything is fine, but if everyone wants their money ‘now’ most banks would fail too. If everyone keeps their seats in a theatre while a waste bin burns everyone will be fine. If everyone tries to get out many get crushed.

    ED THE HERO

Hero Ed is about to make an announcement on Tuition Fees. Cue, this morning, controversial BBC Deputy Political Editor, Norman Smith.

On the Toady programme, our Norman tells us that Miliband’s intention to reduce tuition fees is something that is, ‘Frankly very personal to Ed Miliband’. Smith likes that expression so much he emphasises it THREE times…and if that’s not enough he eulogises on, pointing out that Braveheart Ed has had to fight battles, even within his own party, to win this one

Fully briefed, up to speed and completely empathised, Smith, explains that rich future pensioners will have to pay the bill and slips in the latest BBC meme, ‘Intergenerational fairness’, a wonk phrase probably offered them by their Labour colleagues (Alastair Campbell?). We’ve been hearing that phrase from the BBC for a few weeks now, even more so since Cameron promised to retain universal pensioner benefits. ‘A bribe’, the BBC have countered at every opportunity, one BBC reporter even asked, last week, whether there should perhaps be an upper age limit for voting (these Socialists really don’t do democracy)?

Now, normally at this point when reporting Government announcements, Smith usually says, ‘But Labour say…,’ Not today though – this is a Labour announcement and rather than, ‘But the Tories say…’ he uses it to have a sly, clever little poke (such is Norman Smith’s idea of balance). The message here is that Brave Ed is being counterintuitive, taking money from pensions tax relief while, ‘the Tories are’, to use Smith’s words, ‘Straining every sinew to appeal to the grey vote’.

Yes this is the BBC line. The Tories are being cynical in appealing to the older voter…meanwhile, according to Smith, Miliband’s costly and unnecessary and bandwagon jumping reduction in tuition fees in an attempt to appeal to younger voters is nothing of the sort, it’s something, ‘Frankly very personal’.

    What biased bollocks

        Here is the report from UCAS. Page 17 is most interesting. It says;

Entry rates for disadvantaged jump by over 10 per cent to highest ever levels across the UK

Young people living in most disadvantaged fifth of areas became more likely to enter higher education in
2014 with entry rates reaching their highest ever levels across the UK.
In England the entry rate for disadvantaged 18 year olds increased by 1.7 percentage points (11 per cent
proportionally) to 18.2 per cent making disadvantaged young people in England a third more likely to enter
university in 2014 than five years ago. Entry rates for this group in England have increased every cycle since
2006 and they are now 60 per cent more likely to enter higher education than in 2006.
In Northern Ireland the entry rate increased by 1.7 percentage points (11 per cent) and in Wales by 3.0
        percentage points (22 per cent).
In all three countries the change in 2014 is the largest increase recorded.

I’m not surprised that people have struggled to find this. The BBC ignored the report completely (but then again in fairness, it was GOOD news!). If of course it was the ‘disaster’ Weird Ed claims, we would have never heard the last of it.

“In what way were the banking models of Northern Rock, Bradford and Bingley and HBOS anything to do with American sub-prime lending?”

“On 12 September 2007, Northern Rock asked the Bank of England, as lender of last resort in the United Kingdom, for a liquidity support facility due to problems in raising funds in the money market to replace maturing money market borrowings. The problems arose from difficulties banks faced over the summer of 2007 in raising funds in the money market.”

And for a fuller examination of the linkages:

          http://www.economist.com/news/schoolsbrief/21584534-effects-financial-crisis-are-still-being-felt-five-years-article

“Trust, the ultimate glue of all financial systems, began to dissolve in 2007—a year before Lehman’s bankruptcy—as banks started questioning the viability of their counterparties. They and other sources of wholesale funding began to withhold short-term credit, causing those most reliant on it to founder. Northern Rock, a British mortgage lender, was an early casualty in the autumn of 2007.”

Thanks for supporting my argument, Albaman, namely that the business models of Northern Rock et al were unsustainable because of their huge dependence on the inter-bank money market and nothing to do with sub-prime. They were borrowing something like 12 X what they held in customer deposits. Had the B of E still held its supervisory responsibility those models would never have been allowed to develop in the first place. Equally they would have been on HBOS’s case as soon as they spotted an over-emphasis on buy-to-let lending.

Brown turned his blind eye to this financial powder keg because it was fuelling his ‘boom’.

            Got that, Mr Omnibus?

There was a clear link between the sub prime crisis and the availability of funding to Northern Rock.

Just because you can’t (or do not want to see it) does not mean that it did not exist.

“The money markets have been afflicted with a crisis of confidence since the beginning of August. Sub prime mortgages in the United States had begun to go sour as borrowers began defaulting.”

“Confidence dropped in the money markets (the markets for short term loans). Banks, worried about their own exposure (and unable to quantify it properly) became reluctant to lend to each other, fearing other banks may be worse off. Debt markets froze. The banks kept high levels of cash to themselves.”

              http://www.stephenbeer.com/Articles/165195/Stephen_Beer/Economy/Northern_Rock_and.aspx

“By 2006, Northern Rock had captured 7 percent of the U.K. mortgage market and in the first half of 2007 such was the pace of expansion that it accounted for almost 10 percent of gross mortgage lending in the U.K. Then along came the credit crunch – beginning in August 2007 when growing concerns about exposure to US sub-prime mortgage assets led international wholesale markets including those in the UK to seize up.

Northern Rock came under pressure, as suddenly the supply of loan finance on which it depended simply dried up. ”

There is no evidence that any banker ever put a gun to a borrower’s head and threated to shoot them if they didn’t sign. Ultimate responsibility lies with the individual. Paid over the odds? Why did they do that? Did they listen to the man who saved the world?

There was a clear link between the sub prime crisis and the availability of funding to Northern Rock.

Only in the sense that the banks suddenly stopped lending each other money, as you might expect when banks start going bust.

Northern Rock were massively exposed as they funded their lending predominantly from the inter-bank market. As I keep repeating and you keep ignoring, the B of E would never have allowed Northern Rock (or B and B, or HBOS, or RBS) to develop such precarious business models and/or have so much of their lending in one sector and/or lend on such generous multiples (remember 125% mortgages?).

‘It was the first run on a British bank for more than 140 years but five years on from the collapse of Northern Rock, could it happen again? The short answer is maybe – but global and UK officials have responded with regulatory fixes, including some that could have made a difference.

In retrospect, it was clear that the bank’s business model of relying on short-term funding from the wholesale market to make long-term mortgage loans was inherently vulnerable to a loss of confidence.

This problem was compounded by three key factors. Northern Rock’s rapid growth was fuelled by aggressive lending to dubious borrowers. Its supervisors at the Financial Services Authority were distracted and philosophically disinclined to question its business plan and risk models. And the Newcastle-based bank exploited loose bank safety rules, leaving it with very little equity to absorb unexpected losses.’

    Irony.
On the Daily Politics there was an item about ‘attack adds’ which Mr Neil assured us were not permitted on TV in the UK because political advertising was banned! Well it may well be on his programmes, but 90% of the BBC Current Affairs and News output on domestic matters is blatant advertising for Labour. I reckon that without the massive free propaganda that the Labour receives, courtesy of the state funded broadcaster, Labour would have been in power very much less than it has been in the past 50 years and the countries politics much more right leaning.
Which begs the question , why don’t the Tories deal with the BBC? Judging by yesterday’s report on the future of the funding of the corporation, it looks as though the Tories are going to accept that the BBC should remain a state funded, near monopoly. They must be bonkers to allow its malign influence to continue to undermine their party and democracy in our country.

Beebinator, there are no Conservatives in the upper echelons of the ‘Conservative’ party. On the major issues that concern the UK: the EU, mass immigration, incompatible Islam, there is little to separate Cameron, Milliband or the BBC ‘narrative’. Look at this week’s immigration figures, for example, or Cast Iron Dave’s serial grovelling to the RoP. Or his wish to remain in the EU. It’s hard to see what the beeboids could really find objectionable about Cameron’s policies; & he’s sanctioned gay marriage – he should be sitting cosily in Evan Davis’ lap, perhaps he does, two metropolitan progressives with much in common, despite the charade the BBC indulges in to paint the PM as some sort of pinstriped devil from the 1922 Committee. A charade designed to trick the audience into thinking there really is a difference between our major politicians.
The BBC is quite safe in Cameron’s hands. He is part of the left-liberal progressive Establishment, & the BBC is its broadcasting arm. He understands this. He is a manager, not a politician with conviction. If a real Conservative leader emerged & turned his/her eye on the BBC & its guaranteed income, on its job-creation scheme for the Oxford/LSE ‘intelligentsia’, the beeboids would be shitting themselves. As it is, this seems unlikely to happen. The BBC’s depiction of a parallel Britain that is marching onwards to a ‘progressive’ paradise will continue – it will probably speed up & get madder. Anything that disturbs this triumphant march, such as the recent muslim demo in Whitehall, an event of great significance, is quite blatantly ignored. That glaring omission is testament to what the BBC is really about. They couldn’t have done anything different. It was just too hot to handle.

Thus, even UKIP are dragged leftwards because they dare not rock the boat and risk [BBC-orchestrated] unpopularity by raising the NHS funding issue or that of the nature (rather than simply numbers) of those pouring into the UK from the EU and the Third World.

I do sympathize with Essex Man; there are only hard options at this moment: vote UKIP on principle and risk a Miliband/SNP alliance or swallow hard and vote for the pink Tories on the basis that you hope they will be a little less bad than the Left.

Essex Man, if a few more Conservatives had voted UKIP in Heywood and Middleton, the Labour party you rightly excoriate would have lost the seat. UKIP will win a significant bridgehead of seats in May and will be the only alternative to Labour throughout Wales, the Midlands and the North. There is something seriously wrong with your party when it is not even competing in these areas any more. Get out of the way in the North and let UKIP beat Labour.

OK – opposing case in a nutshell. You see two big issues; the economy and immigration, with the economy as the most important. Others see it as pretty irrelevant. The economy is a ‘house of cards’ at the minute, a big crash is inevitable anyway, probably better if it comes early under Milliband. A united society can pick itself up after any crash – it’s been done before. Mass immigration, OTOH, will obliterate the tolerant, liberal society that has developed over centuries. We are headed for the fate of the Roman Empire. History will record that it all worked out well, but future Amazon customers will only have a choice of history books by someone with first name ‘Mohammed’.

Cameron will not get control of immigration. That is clear now. He didn’t promise a referendum in 2010, but he spun a yarn about having one ‘if blah, blah, blah’, knowing that the situation wouldn’t arise. He’s a dissembler – you need to face up to it. He promised to re-negotiate open borders, but has recently backed away from that after Merkel put her foot down. Now he is crafting subtle PR spin to big-up trivial benefit changes. Blind allegiance to that man will lead us to disaster.

Because they are not Tories. They are no different from the last Blair government. Until people start actually waking up that we have, at present, a one party state, this nonsense will continue until such time as the lid comes off.

And that’s exactly what these traitors are planning, Please, please stop this nonsense of right and left.

Whilst I’d agree that the current mob are not traditional Tories that still does not explain why they don’t act against the BBC. The BBC hate anyone with a blue rosette even and especially those they went to school with. They are totally and unequivocally for Labour. It’s not a question of policies it is a question of teams.

So just self interest should get the Tories motivated on curbing the BBC and at the very minimum ensuring that they obey their charter. Otherwise they lose out on all those lovely perks of being an MP. Let’s face it; that what the vast majority of MPs care about the most.

I would, but last time they invited comments – on the World Service website – they didn’t want mine because I’m not British.

Bloody cheek – they pump out propaganda worldwide, but they won’t accept comments from their worldwide audience.

And of course their ‘complaints’ website is a bad joke.

The BBC now concentrates mostly on Twitter and Facebook to pump out propaganda – ideal media for the short-attention-span generation, and of course it’s a simple matter to block ‘incorrect’ comments, Orwell fashion.

They’ve rendered the old comment websites all but redundant but we oldies recall a useful bit of info, and something the BBC never advertises. If you want to rub their faces in their bias in the hope of moderating their behaviour you can email BBC hacks by simply using the following address:

      name.surname@bbc.co.uk

Occasionally they even reply to your complaint.

And believe it or not, you can even get a rare admission of BBC wrongdoing by this method.

At first I was puzzled why business expert Peston would cover Marine le Pen and French politics. Le Pen has set out to defend French culture against Islamisation and has incurred the wrath of the UAF, Left Unity, the TUC, NHS workers and many in the Labour Party who protested against her speaking at the Oxford Union. But the left see this as racism and attribute increasing support for Le Pen in traditional Marxist terms – austerity, unemployment feeds fascism, they say. Its not Islamic culture that is a problem; its capitalist austerity and how the capitalists divide and rule, playing off muslims against the indigenous French. Hence Peston will focus on the French economy and how its problems inspire racism and feeds islamophobia. Throw off the shackles of capitalism mein comrades and there will be no Islamophobia or need to protect French culture.

On ITV’s Calendar, Milliband said that Amina Ali had withdrawn her candidacy for Bradford West because of family commitments. According to The Times this wasn’t the true reason. It was because she was scared by the Pakistani clan wars in the constituency. Switching to the BBC’s Look North we have detailed confirmation of this. Rather surprisingly the BBC had quite an item about the unsavoury carryings on amongst the Bradford Pakistani ‘community’. So Milliband told a direct lie. The BBC item was only spoilt by the fact that it was presented by an Asian woman who had very poor English.

I see the bBC has decided to report on Islamic terrorist apologists cage over that beautiful boy statement they made about JIah (John) Mohammed.
Cage: Important human rights group or apologists for terror?
As details emerged about the identity of “Jihadi John”, the masked Islamic State militant pictured in several hostage videos, questions started to arise about Cage, the advocacy group that had been in close contact with the man now known to be called Mohammed Emwazi between 2009 and 2012. Cage has caused controversy by suggesting that MI5 harassment could have contributed to the radicalisation of the Kuwaiti-born computer graduate who grew up in west London. Human rights groups say they are doing “vital work” but critics have called the organisation “apologists for terror”

Really , it seems that the bBC have thrown in their prayer mat with Allahs finest and now openily defend intolerant Islamic propoganda Human rights orgs as ‘Important Human rights group.”

    I quote from the bBC
“Cage said Mohammed Emwazi had sought their assistance after being interrogated by a British security official in the Netherlands following an attempted visit to Tanzania.”

So, he wasn’t radicalised when he picked up a Koran?
He wasn’t radicalised hanging around with Jiahist thugs in London
He wasn’t radicalised when he was stopped by the Tanzanians when they refused him entry into the country as a back door into Somalia (Why did they ban him?)
    the same with Kuwait

Yet a blood thirsty follower of his namesake who we are told don’t fear death, was worried shitless by a few questions ask to him in a foreign country. Anyway the bBC in trying to whitewash Cage, never bother to report that Beautiful boy statement. I wonder why?

Jim Naughty grumbles “not right-wing, not Nazis and want to raise awareness that Islam is a problem” – humph! Quite a contradiction there’.

And there you have the naked, liberal-lefty, hand-wringing, self-loathing and dhimitude of the BBC establishment in a nut shell. You MUST be a NAZI if you think Islam is ‘a problem’!

They also pointed out that these will be a counter demonstration by an organisation named ‘Newcastle Unite’ that would be the utterly fascist UAF one supposes – so why not say so?

Hopefully those skilled in such things can capture and share this quote because, as you say, that is a rather spectacular statement from a supposedly objective interviewer.

Look forward to him interviewing David Cameron on the entirely justifiable move by Turkey to turn back those of unsuitable faith fleeing Isis, as opposed to entirely legitimate economic migrants en route here to bolster the landlord industry in Kensington.

Or maybe there will be no time in the schedule as the BBC devotes its energies to coordinating the efforts of a group to which the PM is a founding signatory.

I’ll ‘Listen Again’ when it’s available to check the exact wording and then will be making a complaint to the BBC (for all the good that will do). The fact that Naughtie thinks this is ‘quite a contradiction’ and chooses to state that opinion not only shows naked political bias but his arrogance in assuming that his audience will agree.

        Please do.

It will do some good as that ‘log’ of theirs must be straining at the seams, and someone in there may just recognize when they moved to being a flat out propaganda organ.

Also, when they reply, as they must, a public airing of whatever vacuous excuse really shows them up more than being tucked away in one of their secret files.

And they don’t like it one bit, despite being so transparent ‘n all.

One of the few good outcomes to the Future of the BBC inquiry report is The Trust knows now that no one trusts them. This may focus a few minds for when the wall falls and the files they obsessively keep get researched.

it isn’t at all, you fall into the same trap as I do if I ever try to expound on ballet or flower arranging, subjects I know nothing, and care nothing about. Christianity was reformed by going back to the basics and cutting out all of the ‘man added’ stuff that gave power and control to the priests. Christianity was reformed by going back to the core message of the gospels, love one another, turn the other cheek etc. The trouble with islam is that they have never wandered far from their basic beliefs of hating the Jews/Christians/kuffar and smiting heads from necks.
Back to basics is exactly what ‘radical’ or ‘militant’ islam is, and will always be.

        • Mr Glodstone says:

They never “wandered far from the basics” because to try and do so or even to begin to talk about doing so, would lead to accusations of heresy; and then that really wouldn’t work out so well them.
That there is “radical” or “militant” Islam is erroneous.
“There is no such thing as Islamism, it is simply the expression in practice of what the Koran requires them to do. There is no such thing as moderate Islam, there are moderate Muslims – but no moderate Islam.”

“It’s been the sunniest winter for 86 years…. but to be honest, I’m struggling to find some sunshine for you around Britain this weekend…”

Oh dear, every time the BBC gears up for a bit global climate whatsname alarmism the bloody weather goes and lets them down.

    Still, keep soldiering on Peter.

‘Poor BBC television Weatherman, Peter Gibbs looked baffled and bemused Thursday as he broadcast to the nation rather sheepishly “…plenty more snow still to come…” Gibbs conceded the Arctic conditions were “…not going to give up without a fight.” Nonetheless, Gibbs was still obstinately clinging to the Met Office’s forlorn hope that “…it will turn a lot milder over the weekend.” Fingers and legs being crossed backstage.’

Of relevance to this thread and the one below on the BBC highlighting the silly view that MI5 radicalised the psychotic ‘Jihadi Mohammed’ – this morning, Today played an extended version of an interview with Sir John Sawers, ex head of MI6. In its wisdom the BBC allowed its leftie tame Muslim Mishal Hussein to conduct the interview. Her questions-cum-statements were often designed to subtly undermine what the security services are doing to protect us – Muslims who go to Syria are ‘victims’ etc etc

    • Ian Rushlow says:

The BBC and Mishal Hussein are not the people to answer them, but there are clearly a number of questions in regards to this matter. The security services do not radicalise Muslims, but they certainly use agent provacateurs and effectively ‘licence’ certain hate preachers in return for information. They also have a vested interest in permitting or perhaps ‘not preventing’ the occasional act of terrorism; after all – no terrorist threat, no need for large state security apparatus with its many jobs and a large budget. There is also the concept of ‘acceptable levels of terrorism’ which was followed in Northern Ireland; as long as there was only the occasional outrage on the mainland there wasn’t too much concern and it did, after all, provide a way of keeping the army busy when there wasn’t much else going on in the world.
Still, the security services are being undermined. You may have seen their recent recruitment advert featuring a girl in a wheelchair with the caption: ‘Mixed race, female, dyslexic – just what we are looking for’ (no, it’s not an early April 1st spoof). Now there is absolutely no reason why such a person or anyone else cannot and should not work effectively for MI5 and MI6, athough perhaps they should have added the requirement to be fluent in Arabic as well. But it is – how shall we say? – noteworthy that they are emphasising such characteristics. If the obsession to meet diversity and equality quotas is more important than the ability to do the job then we have problems. Perhaps we should outsource MI6… to the Mossad.

The Fascists at the BBC are in full recovery mode for Natlie Bennets Brain fade, telling us that everyone gets it, and that it’s nothing unusual. Asking almost every guest on every program to give an example of when they lost the thread in public.
Then there’s the perennial Fascist reality twisting – one of the Fascists favourites has dropped the ball, quick find a reason to blame it all on a white male! So the fact that she fucked up is all the fault of white men, because of ‘sexism’ ! Which the BBC pick up and run with like it’s the word of God !

In order for one’s brain to experience fading, it is a prerequisite that one should possess a brain in the first place.

In the case of Ms. Bennett, this is debatable.

What is NOT debatable, however, is the fact that not only is she not in possession of a brain, nor (on at least three occasions) has she been in possession of all the facts relating to the Green policies, if indeed there were any facts to be in possession of.

She is an Antipodean half-wit, and deserves to have fun poked at her, at every opportunity. She does not, it seems, intend to relinquish her position as leader of the compost party, so perhaps we may have more interesting “interviews” to witness in the near future, before the daft green pixie Lucas, in abject exasperation, grabs the reins again. Or maybe we might witness another spectacle of the mad Jenny Jones stealing the limelight. Now, that WAS funny.

Interesting, on Channel 4 news last night, the number of “students” who said they were going to vote Green. Says it all, I think, for the youth of today, and the “educational” establishments of the Former UK.

The BBC seems to be using the old trick of “denial of the unsubstantiated accusation” rather a lot recently.
Today R4 simply states “Pegida UK denies being a racist party”
This means that the BBC has absolutely no evidence that it could play on air that Pegida UK espouses “racism” ( why is opposition to an ideology or religion racism?). All that happened was that a BBC “journalist” asked a Pegida supporter “Is Pegida racist” and the answer was “No”. Naturally, a denial on air creates the impression that Pegida “has something to hide”. Denials of what is not the case can, of course, be repeated ad infinitum to enhance the “no smoke without fire” effect. I’m sure it would be equally newsworthy if Today led with “Eddie Mair, like Jimmy Saville a BBC stalwart, denies raping an 8-year old ” It’s very much the same with “Security forces facing questions about radicalisation of Enwazi”. “facing” suggests that real questions are in fact being adressed. The reality is that the BBC is simply regurgitating the unfounded assertions of CAGE. No one else apart from a Jihadist mouthpiece and the BBC would ever think the question was worth asking. “Was alien abduction the reason for Enwazi’s radicalisation?” Distortions worthy of the gutter press.

Indeed. ‘Critics are saying’. And it seems the currently ‘resting’ Flokker squadron on R&R ’til a slew of other poorly labelled Claymores are cleared are entirely happy when their sappers lay such unfounded efforts around and about.

Frankly, in the spirit of ‘two wrongs’, those on the receiving end of the BBC’s usual uni-directional holding to account could be schooled to greet such attempts with a few of their own?

      “Is Pegida racist?”

“Where would such a claim originate please? It’s like asking you as a BBC staff member if the BBC is headed by an internal self-regulation entity that is a busted flush and needs to go. Oh… sorry… no it isn’t; that is factually on record, from an ex-BBC staffer, Labour MP and Future of the BBC Committee member”
