Here We Go Again

Speakers at a pro-immigration policy conference

Isn’t it curious how the same person keeps bringing us ‘research’ that shows EU immigration benefits us….and the BBC loves it…. we’ve been here before…

The BBC, Still Selling Us A Lie On Immigration

Christian Dustmann, an immigrant himself, was one of the architects of Labour’s EU immigration policy, and yet the BBC thinks it is perfectly reasonable to quote his research as if it was entirely trustworthy….I note Migration Watch has been relegated to the status of ‘Pressure Group’ again….despite the fact thatSir Andrew Green of Migration Watch(disgracefully treated by the BBC as a Right-wing Alarmist 10 years ago) has provided more accurate, responsible and truthful predictions than anyone else.’

Dustmann runs an organisation that campaigns for immigration…In 2013 Dustmann organised the Migration: Global Development, New Frontiers…Interdisciplinary conference on migration and look who turns up to speak at his shindig…..the BBC’s pro-immigration Mark Easton, not to report but to participate, and Charles Clarke, Home Secretary in charge of immigration under Labour.

The fiigures are worthless as the person who has created them has vested interests…one in that he helped create the open door policy and he supports, actively campaigns for, mass immigration from the EU.

The BBC isn’t interested in investigating Dustmann’s claims, just trumpeting them from the rooftops.

Non-EU immigration isn’t the issue here because the big controversy is EU immigration and Labour’s policy.

Peston is just now telling us as I write that ‘this study lays this to rest’.

Immigration is not black and white. Some immigrants benefit the country, some cost the country. Everyone knows that. Most people also know that there is more to life than economics.
The BBC is wasting its time with misleading headlines like “New EU members add £5bn to UK says research”. Even reading the BBC’s own spin in the article it’s clear that the issue is not so clear cut. But the main point is that whatever the BBC spins, is anyone out there still listening?

      Or how about

New immigration adds to a 1000% increase in Female Genital Mutilation.

New immigration adds to a 100000% increase in cruelty animals.

      One carry on.

A nation is just not a group of people bound together to make money – a large Wall street. Humans are not merely homo-economicus but a people who have a common culture and language.

Unfortunately, it’s not just the sodding bbc spouting this crap to our nation. Sky were trying to sell it too. In fact, sky and the bbc are virtually interchangeable these days and I know the difference is that we don’t have to fund sky. However, it means that there is no serious tv news channel in our country where one can gather actual News. To me, that’s a serious defect.

Agreed. Having given up on the BBC 10pm News, I did some channel switching and caught Matthew Syed (who could make good use of long pimples in his defensive table tennis era) and formerly of the Independent now the Times and a black female journalist cooing over the headlines of the Inde and Guardian while castigating the DT and almost claiming I told you so immigration is good for the UK. No balance at all, or analysis or proper breakdown of the figures. Across on BBC News 24 newspaper review.. Bonnie Greer ahhrh. The one who suggests Griff Rhys Jones should p… off and leave the country if he doesn’t like Labour’s proposed cottage tax on overpriced London properties.
At least RT and Al Jazeera were not going on about the child of some BBC female with a fringe whose child had had an accident; for too busy with news of the real world. At least you know which side the bias will be on those two channels!

At best, all this study tells you is that if a cohort of young people whose education has been paid for by another state, are in good health, have no children, are in work and receive no in work benefits arrive in a country, they will probably pay a net positive amount to the Treasury, provided they leave the country before they start having children and are less healthy.
This was the flawed assumption behind the German Gastarbeiter policy in the 60s. Most Gastarbeiter did not return home. Their children in general did not perform well in the education system due to failed integration policies. The result is now euphemistically referred to as the problem of “Mitbuerger mit Migrationshintergrund aus bildungsfernen Schichten” = Fellow citizens with a history of migration from strata of society remote from education.
Are there any countries that enforce the return of migrant workers before they can have families? Obviously, this is the only way of ensuring that migrants provide a net economic advantage to the host country and preventing parallel societies.

This is from today’s Telegraph headline story.

Immigrants who came to live in Britain from outside Europe cost the public purse nearly £120 billion over 17 years, a new report has shown.

In the unlikely event of the BBC mentioning it, I wonder how they would spin it.

It’s called ‘the Gold Teeth argument’. Germany, 1942. The war has started to go badly wrong for them, particularly on the Eastern Front. In a meeting in at Wannsee they discuss their latest plan: ignore the failings of the war and instead build a huge railway system and infrastructure to transport millions of people across the continent to house them in concentration camps and murder large numbers of them. “But won’t that cost billions of Reichsmarks? Shouldn’t we be trying to equip our soldiers and protect and feed our civilian population?” one of them points out. “Well yes, it will cost a lot of money” comes the reply. “But we’ll be able to extract the gold teeth from our victims – we might even make a small profit on the enterprise” is the cold calculated reply.

A crude comparison? Maybe. But illustrative of the mindset when financial arguments are used to try and justify the unjustifiable. Continued mass immigration? No thank you, not at any price.

As I have said before, only fools and those with a political agenda, can possibly believe that mass immigration has been, and will be, good for the country.
For decades the BBC has been at the forefront of the undemocratic attempt to force the British to accept mass immigration. They have used their enormous power to propagandise on behalf of the immigration lobby and to vilify anyone who dared to even query if this was a good policy, let alone to protest about it. They have helped to force leftist Political Correctness to be adopted by just about every institution in the country with disastrous results, as recently seen in Rotherham and no doubt many other places.
The role of the BBC in helping to impose the will of a small leftist elite on to our country in a massive social engineering experiment, has been disgraceful, and the long term harm that they have done is incalculable.

Isn’t it strange that in just about any other area of public policy ‘cost’ is a dirty word – money shouldn’t be a factor when it comes to education, heath or, when it suits, defence.

Yet immigration is a pounds and pence matter, plus £1 per annum per immigrant? Open the doors!

I rather suspect, if asked, (that will be the day!), that a large part of the UK would be prepared to pay higher taxes to rid themselves of the ‘challenges’ that ‘vibrant diversity’ has brought to these crowded isles. Go for it Mark Easton!

Here’s how it works. They look at (say) 10 immigrants. One is an overseas exec from a German company. He earns a fortune, pays £100K a year in tax and claims no benefits. The other 9 are from some impoverished country. None of them work and they claim a total of £99K a year in benefits. BBC calculation is: tax in = £100K, benefit payments paid = £99K, therefore UK is £1K better off. The fact that the German will probably go home in a year or two but most of the others will stay or maybe joined by others is ignored. Also ignored are the other costs; broadly speaking, if you increase the population by, say, 10% then you need 10% more roads, railways, power generation, fresh water, sewage disposal, refuse collection, hospitals, health centres, schools, housing, prison spaces (okay you need more than an extra 10% of those). And that is ignoring the various ‘soft’ or hidden costs. For instance, how much did the 7/7 terrorist attack cost the country? How do you put a value on the lives of the 1,400 young girls raped in Rotherham? If you take a more holistic view then it is apparent that immigration costs this country tens of billions of pounds every year. And as it has been going on for over 50 years we are probably talking in terms of a trillion pounds or more in total.

But that’s not actually the point. It isn’t about money. Our history, culture and heritage may not be shared by the BBC and much of the political Establishment but to us they are priceless. To enter into serious debate with them on the economics is an irrelevance and brings us down to their level. Some things are ultimately a matter of principle, not of money. No doubt one could cleverly argue that slavery, killing disabled people, allowing child labour or scrapping all medical care would be “cost effective”, but it would not make it right to do so.

I’ve said it before but repeat it here. Our family income has been reduced in real terms by between £6 – 9K/pa. Estimate because it is difficult to say where my wife would be today in her role if she had not been displaced by East Europeans as she was the main breadwinner.
I have builder friends who are unable to compete and are unemployed whilst there are massive building projects in the area and most of the builders are East Europeans. On one particular site there were 40 builders and only one was English.
There are possibly millions of us in the same situation. Its called wage compression and cannot be measured except by surveys of the people affected.
The media are incapable of joining the dots. On the same program they will have retail company results showing declining sales and profits. The reason is that ordinary folk just do not have the disposable income. In the past they could one-stop shop. Now they buy all over the place to get the best prices they can, so they can live.
The pay gap widens every day. But the rich buy the same as ordinary folk day to day so wealth is moving into areas other than retail. This is a loose-loose situation for the whole economy.

Seasoned BBC watchers will not be surprised by the choice of which of the two immigration stories, featured by the UK papers today, would be highlighted by our National Broadcaster.

Of course, just as expected from our institutionally biased BBC, there is only one story in town!

Featured right up there at No 2 on it’s main website news page,:

NEW EU MEMBERS ADD £5BN TO UK

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-29910497

On the scale of 1-10 in actual amount of immigration benefit or damage to this countries economy, the real story, right at the top of the scale of immigration impact to this nation, is in the Telegraph, (not even featured at all by the BBC – never mind being at No 2 on the BBC website):

“IMMIGRATION FROM OUTSIDE EU ‘COST £120 bn’”

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/immigration/11209234/Immigration-from-outside-Europe-cost-120-billion.html

The BBC is just so predictable and they really cannot help themselves in only highlighting the lefty position as normal, totally ignoring the bigger impact story!

But just like last time when the BBC featured such a positive EU Immigration study they might find, after serious analysis by other academics, the report was corrupted or omitting crucial evidence which makes a mockery and travesty of their headlines:

    http://news.migrationwatch.org.uk/2014/11/comment-on-creams-revised-report-the-fiscal-effects-of-immigration-to-the-uk.html

The BBC trumpeting also does not match my personal experience, since my partner is Polish. I can tell many stories about benefit abuse and non-payment of taxes from just the 7 other Polish families living close by, (almost everyone has found a fiddle of sorts):

    1. One family, (now found out and stopped), were on housing benefit, plus working tax credits and Child Allowance, (even though claiming for one of the children who has never ever been to England), sub-let their rented property to another Polish Family whilst they went back to Poland themselves secretly, (i.e. still in receipt of all the benefits paid into their UK bank account) . That is creaming it in – Council paying rent – plus extra £850 a month from sub letting etc etc

    2. Another two immigrants, who are local taxi-drivers, I know inform HMRC a bag of worms about their cash earnings.

    3. Three others have cash in hand local cleaning jobs which they do not declare earnings to HMRC.

Most will get caught hopefully, but the BLACK economy is so very much worse with EU workers locally, with almost everyone involved.

Yes people feel far more confident about taking risks ina foreign country. A friend of my DD while studying in the EU was caught ‘drunk while riding a bicycle’ told the police a pack of lies which she wouldnt have dreamed of doing in this country, and was let off, she also ignored a speeding fine after being caught on camera.. People take chances because they feel they can get away and will never be caught. Mostly they are right.

Like my post above Robert – from my personal real life experience – welfare and tax abuse is widespread in the immigrant community. Until the Government tightens up the benefits to reflect contributory factors, (plus including housing – time delays especially), then unfortunately our state welfare costs and loss of tax revenue from immigration will remain exceedingly high.

As we have to pay an extra £1.7bn just to stay in the club in order to allow even more to enter the country, that brings it down to £3.3bn.
There is absolutely no way that this miniscule amount will cover the extra amount we have to pay for health, education etc etc

We now have two major stories on successive days that the BBC has chosen to subject to the most outrageous spin.

The first is the immigration report prepared by UCL (and sponsored by the EU, for heaven’s sake!) which shows immigration has cost this country a figure of £150 billion. A story that has been countered, as Alan has shown, by running in its place a flimsy tissue of Nu-Labour inspired propaganda

The second is the government’s report into Britain’s very own ‘Islamic State’ – Tower Hamlets – which the Corporation has chosen to sideline into obscurity.

Clearly, something must be done about the BBC, whose flagrant abuse of its position to promote a Leftist agenda has now reached farcical levels.

Earlier today Fivelive had Rachel Burden interviewing a woman militant awaiting her chance to break into Britain from Calais.

To describe her as a militant is no hyperbole either. Her tone of voice was aggressive, filled with a sense of righteous entitlement as she complained about the cold, the dangers for women, her ‘waiting to come to Britain’ , the hunger, and finally about how she misses her little three year old daughter who she left in Afghanistan a year ago!

This woman cannot possibly be a genuine refugee fleeing for her life, if she left behind her baby daughter, who I am prepared to believe she loves dearly (there was a sob in her voice as she spoke of her).

Of course loyal dyed in the wool Beeboid Burden was all in sympathetic voice mode, no challenge whatsoever.

    The obvious questions were:

Why do you not apply for asylum in France?
How can you claim to be a refugee if you felt it safe to leave your baby daughter behind?

Remember they havent all come from the Netherlands, many come here directly. Yes you are right about Bristol, know it well. Do you remember that case of the black schoolboy who was attacked by Somalis with a snake a few years back? The media reported that a black schoolboy had been attacked in a racist incdient by a gang with a snake in Bradley Stoke to make it sound as if it was whites who attacked him. It was Somalis. Disgraceful.

Not just Holland, Belgium as well. I think a figure of 20, 000 coming to the Midlands mostly Coventry a few years ago is often quoted.
They received several £millions from both national government (ie taxpayers) to start a self build scheme for housing, but it was closed down when most of the money ”disappeared ” just the usual fraud, probably sent back to Somalia to help the terrorists and pirates.
Somalis are one group of asylum seekers who do themselves no favours. Just one case as an example. Two Somali girls got away with viciously wounding a white girl, leaving her with permanent injuries and unable to work for a long time. The reason they got off? They were drunk and therefore not used to alcohol and were not responsible for their actions!

Anyone living in, or close to, London will know of the real impact of mass immigration. It’s not something that can simply be worked out using pounds, shillings and pence. It’s far more important than that. Cheaper foreign workers depress working class wages, increases the demand for housing and therefore property prices sky rocket. If you’re a British youngster looking for a job or a house you might see things in a slightly less rosy way. Of course these well heeled lefty parasites needn’t worry. A Polish plumber isn’t going to be given the late night shift on Newsnight or Start the Week.

The upper eschelons of the elite no of course not, they have the connections, but the ‘normal’ Metropolitan well paid middle class who support mass immigration and just blithely assume that their ‘talented’ sprogs will always be successful, are taking a risk and are too complacent to even see it.

I have ignored every attempt from the bbc to extort money from me for the last five years (I pay enough tax in other areas). At the start I just thought it was an unfair bill, but after the last couple of years I realised how right my actions are. It would be great if the majority would do the same, and then these bbc slimeballs would have to join the real world , and with in a couple of months their opinions of imagration would change. I doubt if the corridors of the bbc are full of people talking foreign languages ,making their workplace feel like you are working in eastern europe. There is no way this level of imagration has been beneficial to this country , and it is sickening for this bbc regime to promote otherwise.

see the trouble with the mass immigration debate is we cant affect the outcome of any goverments policy on this issue, yes me and you constantly complain about mass immigration from non eu countrys since blair and co opened the floodgates in 1997,but what can we do about it.to me immigration from third world which makes up the vast majority of mass immigration into the uk is the elephant in the room here which politicians including ukip are to scared to talk about this because fear of being accused of racism, you know its so easy to moan about eu immigration because they are white, but me and you know that non eu immigration is the problem here, just look at any big city where we have problems with the child groomers, paedo rings, islamists, hate preachers, terrorists plots etc, that has nothing to do with eu immigration, that is the result of mass immigration from non ue third world countrys and by avoiding this issue just makes this immigration debate a politacaly correct farce.

    • Their time is over. For every action there is a reaction. And there is and will be a bloody great whirlwind. It’s gathering like a storm out to sea.

The BBC will pay for what they have done and their chums the Labour Party who are slowly crumbling as we speak under their own hypocrisy, treachery and lies. I really think their contempt for the average British subject is enormous and goes and in hand with their ignorance of what makes us tick as people.

They are on their way out. It will take time and determination but these self serving, self perpetuating institutions of the Consevatives, Labour and the Beeb have simply betrayed us.

I can forgive the Tories…just, God knows why, maybe they are not complete traitors and have MP’s who truly value Britiain. Maybe they haven’t gone as far as Labour and the Beeb in knifing the people that they should represent, defend and respect.

Respect; They, the Beeb and Labour have shown precious little of that. They have used their valuable power to destroy us as a nation. I will NOT forgive them. They have earned my hate, which is a difficult commodity to muster. I hope my countrymen from Aberdeenshire to Cornwall feel the same.

We are fighting a war that, like our grandparents who fought in the second world war. Sounds strong? Not a bit of it. Our enemies don’t come at us with tanks and guns and speaking a foreign language.

They come as us with broken promises, sold away rights in back rooms in Brussels, mass immigration, corrupt postal votes, polticised state financed media, two party state that masquerades as democracy, indutstrial rape of the weakest by minority groups and the influential and the law turns away, they want to break down England in to easy to control bite size regions, remove civil liberties under the guise of prevention of terrorism because of groups in our country that they introduced without asking us.

This new war is every bit as desperate but it’s becoming clearer who is on-side and who isn’t. I know where I stand. UKIP. Maybe they are Dad’s Army as the Left wing media refer to them but I know I’d rather be with that ramshackle but honest, truly liberal in its real sense, bunch than the vicious, sneaking, sneering Goerballls-like propaganda machine of the Balkanising Britiain Corporation and the fascist Left who they front and pimp for.

Good and angry. We should be angry at those you describe who have betrayed old England. Our enemies see us as the defeated. So sure are they . I remember a quote somewhere that the defeated has no more right to speak than does the seed. We must be as the seeds.
It is impossible to awaken in these liberals the notion of land and people. They cannot grasp what is instinctive to many of us. They do not understand the compact between the past generations ,the present and the future that is the basis of a people.
Waste no time in arguing with them. They are of no importance. My river valley has seen generations of Englishmen and women living and working quiet lives but always loyal and trustworthy. Look at the war memorials in our villages. These are my people and it is time for them to make their voices heard.

For Beeboids: re- their ongoing campaign for mass immigration to colonise Britain.

    Publicity for book-

    “Britain’s Great Immigration Disaster”
    (2012)
    by Gavin Cooke
“In the long history of Britain as an independent nation all of the immigrant groups who ever reached our shores never amounted to more than one per cent of the population…before 1997. Between 1997 and 2010 more than five million foreigners were allowed to come and live in Britain unhindered and they now make up more than 13 per cent of the total population, one in eight… a total still rising by more than half a million each year. Ignored by fearful politicians is the fact that more than two thirds of all migration since 2001 has come from outside the EC and that Britain, a tiny island off the coast of Europe, has seen its population increase to such an extent that it now has more Muslims living within its borders than the whole of the United States of America. Based on current birth-rates the Muslim population of Britain will exceed 50 per cent of the total British population by 2050. There was no vote ever taken on such a radical transformation…it was not in any political manifesto and it was never discussed in Parliament but the consequences of this invasion has changed the face of Britain forever. ”

The bBC are making much of the immigration report; however there is one BIG fact that the bBC are not reporting. Blair had an advisor who said that only 14k Poles would come to this country. Guess who was the author of the immigration report. Do you think it is a fact they would want to keep quiet. Well they have not told you in the news.

The BBC World Service was unbelievably biased against Israel this morning . The presenter made inflammatory statements such as “Jerusalem is supposed to be a holy city but it is anything but, with bullets flying and Israeli boots on the Mosque” The BBC had found an Israeli journalist to agree with her . He made sure to add to her totally false picture about Jerusalem by saying that Arabs and Jews could not walk on the pavement together.

  31. Cockney says:

Views on EU immigration are a generational thing. The people in their 20s, 30s, 40s perceive all the benefits and little of the downside, the older demographic vice versa. Economically people’s views edge rightwards as they start work, get richer, have families and some of the implications of left wing economics hit them in the face. Socially they don’t shift at all and if you appreciate having an international community with associated opportunities around you now you’re not going to start despising it the minute you draw your pension. In 20 years time the opposition to immigration from EU countries will have died out with most of its current adherents. Politicians know this which is why they’ll make a bit of noise but do nothing – they don’t want to be perceived as being on the wrong side of history (see also gay rights etc etc etc).

Sadly there is a large measure of truth in that. Not so much people in their forties perhaps but certainly younger people who fantasize (mainly) that they might want to live and work in Europe.

I’m not sure that’s true , many of my daughters friends (late teens early twenties) are anti EU/immigration as its their jobs that are most negatively effected by immigration

Still I’m sure David Abronavitch will be able to explain to them how its the fault of their perception .

Al Beeb reports that the leaders of the Nordic countries are giving warnings over Cameron’s plans to limit immigration from the EU.
Its not surprising, as Great Britain is fast becoming the dumping ground for the masses from the third world that get into Europe illegally and are ‘encouraged to go west ‘ – eg Calais.
The whole débâcle reminds me of the plot in the film “Johnny English”, where the Frenchman ‘Suavage’, intends to turn our country into one big prison.
