This chubby middle-class, over-confident home counties prat epitomises the smug, talentless, lefty drone. Anyone ever wondered why humour isn’t funny anymore? Because it’s been usurped by middle-class, self-loathing, intellectual lefty rent-a-gobs who all went to posh performing arts schools.
Political correctness by its very nature cannot be funny. Millions of years of evolution cannot be cancelled out.

DB, have you considered sending a copy to the prime trouble-makers, especially Mr Umunna, asking him to rate the racism on a scale of 1to 10, where 1 is Carol Thatcher using the term gollywog in the bbc’s green room and 10 is anything Diane Abbot says about white people.

BBC: uniquely-funded agency for the well-remunerated employment of “White Middle Class Left Wing Pricks” TM Pat Condell. Mitch Benn just one of hundreds paid for by the people they claim to despise, and they feel no shame, just perform on cue like a clapping seal.

See what happens when one twisted employer becomes the dominant employer of “comic talent”? Work only for the faithful.

Charter my arse, The BBC must go. Has UKIP got it in their manifesto? If not, they should. Gets my vote.

    It’s appearing on twitter, I’ve just been on Benn’s account and there are quite a few tweets already but it was a quote from him that was interesting;

“If I were being accused of racism, I don’t think my solution would be to ally myself with fascists and sing a song in a comedy darkie voice.”

But it’s ok for him because it’s classed as liberal comedy?

Lance Percival used to sing a mock-calypso every week on the bBBC in the 1960s, when they had satirical programmes like That Was The Week That Was. He had a commercial hit with one of them.

An attack from Bisto kid Yvette will not have UKIP too worried.
The more they attack, the worse it will be for them.

A long post – thank you for bearing with me as I’m having to think out loud.
The problem for me has always been to find words which adequately describe what is happening here.
Biased? Certainly. Partisan? Overwhelmingly. But this is to concentrate on the visible results of what is happening, which is more profound and disturbing than the dismaying, frequently risible, self-contradictory and cruel outputs of this institution of ours. The evidence is that a catastrophic process of institutional corruption has been spreading throughout the BBC, over at least a decade, probably longer. We are past the stages of entry-ism & infiltration, through internal ‘cleansing’, to the point where it has become a powerful instrument in the hands of whoever its masters really are. As a state within a state it will be busy coming to agreements with other anti-democratic organisations with whom it shares elements of a common purpose.
Of course, as consumers of its output, all we see are the results of those ‘foreign and domestic policies’, in the programming we receive. From Countryfile to The Long View, from Call the Midwife to the weather forecast, from The Life Scientific to the Archers, from Poetry Please to the Short Story Competition, from New Tricks to Strictly Come Dancing – from obvious to obscure, everything, everything! we get from the BBC is infested and eventually overrun by messages, meaning, innuendo, persuasion, cant and organised intent.
Like the Nazi State, like the Soviet State, like just about every Middle-Eastern state – like Social Services departments, local education authorities, local planning authorities – the list is endless and depressing – the institutional corruption of the BBC relies on and enforces the collusion and moral corruption of its employees, suppliers and partners.
The important thing is to realise that there is nothing new in this kind of collective cancer. The most vigorous organisations are quite often, simultaneously, the most malicious and dangerous to the society in which they are embedded. Societal tumours, they are incurable in themselves, and it would be folly to try to do so.
If, as in the case of the BBC, they are too tightly wrapped around the communicative organs of society to be simply cut away, then the standard anti-cancer strategies need to be followed. Starve or poison them (selectively, without damaging any collocated remnants of healthy infrastructure); reduce their damaging effects on the rest of the organism; but above all, work to avoid them metastasising. With the BBC, this last means labelling anyone and anything associated with the broadcaster so that they are sufficiently stigmatised to be unable to carry on outside the original organisation.
Because the BBC, like all these distasteful and damaging empires, will eventually collapse under the weight of its internal contradictions, in-fighting, mendacity, and the fact that it will (already has) come up against the limits to its expansionist and adventurist ambitions. At the point when everyone simultaneously and unexpectedly jumps ship, they need indelibly tarring, to make sure not only that ‘the big ones’ DON’T ‘get away’, but neither do the little ones, the little fat grubs who benefitted silently from being part of an iniquitous organisation, and who expect to simply exit silently to the next host.
The BBC will fail. Some people know this already. Just make sure they don’t get to their next set of target hosts with their corruption unexposed.

The prime driver is the NUJ. They are no longer a Trade Union but a political party and they should be defined as and policed as such. Their tentacles permeate throughout out media.

Great post. With a little tweaking it would make a very fitting eulogy at the long-overdue cremation service of our beloved, impartial, ‘got it about right’ national broadcaster.

One from immigration champion Bill Oddie. B-side to Funky Gibbon (which I doubt they’d get away with now either), and both initially from I’m Sorry I’ll Read That Again, a series wherein there are caricatures of West Indian and other settler accents a-plenty, making the much loved It Ain’t Half Hot Mum look like an especially po-faced LSE Student Union diversity awareness session.

I guess it was just ‘different times’ in those days.

I recently purchased a ROBERTS internet radio so as to escape the BBC radio monopoly. However on rare occasions I tune into BBC Radio 4 . The following message then appears:
    Description:
Intelligent speech, the most insightful journalism, the wittiest comedy, the most fascinating features and the most compelling drama and readings anywhere in the UK.

Who the f****ng hell are they kidding?
    Wrong on every count.
In my opinion this is a complete violation of the Trades Description Act.
The self promoting, lying left-wing bastards.
    Thank God for the internet!
