Carswell Vs Orwell

UKIP romped home in Clacton and put the frighteners on Labour in Heywood and Middleton.

The BBC are not happy.

The Today programme dragged in Matthew Parris (08:53), a man they know has a visceral, almost psychotic, hatred of UKIP and anyone who wants to limit immigration.  The BBC no doubt expected some bile and were not disappointed as Parris pronounced UKIP’s, and right wing Tories’, immigration and Europe policies as nutty and the Party as bigoted and racist.

Parris admits he doesn’t have to be respectful to voters in Clacton…and indeed he isn’t…showing complete contempt for them saying ‘This part of Britain is simply wrong about immigration and Europe.’

Parris’ prescription for how UKIP should proceed in future if it wants to win more seats…..

‘Stop looking like a bigoted, nasty, rightwing party.  Carswell’s already beginning to feel uncomfortable.’

The BBC immediately took up that line about Carswell feeling uncomfortable with UKIP’s immigration policies, almost instantly repeating it on 5Live using Carswell’s victory speech as evidence…….the Guardian also uses the same interpretation….

In a clear sign that he will use his position as Ukip’s first elected MP to ensure that it acts as a tolerant agent of change, Carswell said his party must have a broad appeal.

“To my new party I offer these thoughts. Humility when we win, modesty when we are proved right. If we speak with passion let it always be tempered by compassion.

“We must be a party for all Britain and all Britons, first and second generation as much as every other. Our strength must lie in our breadth. If we stay true to that there is nothing we cannot achieve.”

I would suggest that he isn’t saying he is uncomfortable with UKIP’s immigration policies, that is a disingenuous and deliberately misleading reading of his words by the BBC et al who are subtly trying to put the boot into UKIP’s policies….after all he’s just joined the Party and has long argued for immigration control.

The BBC also came up with a couple of other interesting thoughts….UKIP voters are all white, old and working class….well as UKIP took 60% and 39% of the votes in the two by-elections  that would have to have been a remarkably unique turn out.

Guess that is just the BBC wishing to dismiss UKIP’s support as ignorant, racist and out of touch people who haven’t caught up with the modern world.

The second ‘interesting thought’ (12:10) was that Carswell’s victory wasn’t in fact a vote for UKIP but for a very popular local MP, Douglas Carswell.

That is undermined by a simple look at Heywood and Middleton where UKIP almost stole the election from Labour and their voting perecentage increased by 60%.

That might suggest it is the policies that people are voting for and not just the person…never mind that in 2010 UKIP didn’t put up a candidate in Clacton and  supported Carswell….presumably because he had views that aligned well with theirs.  A vote for him was a vote for UKIP’s policies in essence…the BBC is yet again trying to spin against UKIP.

A very Orwellian rewriting of events by the BBC.

I look forward to the Now Show tomorrow…..three weeks in a row when they trash Miliband?  UKIP is always trashed regardless.

Never in history have millions of Trojan horses been granted free access to a nation, and then given generous Benefits.

Substitute “Labour” for “so-called Conservative” and it describes now. I would still vote Conservative if Cameron had any intention of giving us a fair, free and binding vote on EU membership (he doesn’t and never will despite his lying promises) and if he did something about stopping mass immigration and returning all illegals as soon as found. Now he would have to do something about an English Parliament (same powers and rights as the Scottish one) and the dismantling of the BBC. Until his party becomes Conservative again it’s UKIP for me.

Linked with immigration which is still the top issue in people’s minds (say the polls) – I think the referendum question will be central in the general election.

Currently – Farage can and does say that Labour and the LibDems are refusing any referendum. And neither of them are proposing any real changes on immigration.

With the Tories, I don;t think Farage has yet persuaded enough people that Cameron’s promise of renegotiation with Europe is a false promise – that Europe will refuse any real changes, and that Cameron will try to present any marginal changes as major.

So – a lot will depend on whether Farage gets a fair crack of the whip in the TV coverage of the election. Will he be frozen out of the TV debates ? If Reckless wins at Rochester, and if there are some more defections to UKIP, it might become more difficult for the broadcasters to refuse Farage.

I am the first to admit all polling, especially online, is questionable in value, but it can be interesting who in the media can rush out a result they like, and who, as here, gets very reflective on deep reasons for results they don’t.

Pretty safe bet these are both newspaper polls the BBC will be unlikely to over-promote to the nation for whom it speaks.

This mornings papers have Yvette Cooper and Edward Milliband AND the Observer Comment not understanding, not having any solution, not having a clue how to tackle UKIP. The Observer was trawling out standard Liberal Left nothing’s that can only come from plush and remote leafy avenues of North London. Cooper and Milliband best was to concede that we COULD talk about immigration and had a right to be CONCERNED. Pah! At this rate UKIP might nail it.
However I get a smell that the Beeb, the Tories, MSM papers, and Labour with get together and do the dirt on UKIP like they did with the YES campaign in Scotland.

He can’t. He’s a Liberal not a Conservative. Like Clegg he would have signed the Lisbon Treaty were it not for Gordon Brown getting there first in 2008. The EU is a game of musical chairs played with the march of Communistic objectives. There is no democracry after the next general election as our choices of making any Specific and national changes to the EU comes to full stop this November the 1st. See the list below* means that England ceases to function as a nation state. The only way is out complet and full detachment from the EU. Cameron cannot deliver and Milliband will continue the nation slide into obscurity. We will never recover with another Labour governemnt and without doubt we will have no national identity to protect. At that point there will be no point in voting for left or right as the BBC will define what that means now we have the same disease and social problems of the third world. Murders and family breakdown, perversions and poltical corruption of many third world countries. The NHS ‘open borders’ policy will surely collapse as we cannot pay for all the Worlds tropical diseases (including HIV) TB and Ebola that will each become progressivly more expensive (not cheaper) as cases escalate. The TAX bill for each HIV drugs treatments alone is more than £7,000 per year for every infection. Over a third of whom are already infected (increasing) including many Woman (increasingly children born with the disease) for those who ‘share’ a male partner. The additional cost of each foreign born diseases bought in by ‘sex tourists’ and male prostitutes is already a high factor in London. Farage is right to state the dangers of having an open border to the NHS treatment for those who pay little (or nothing) into it. No amount of money will cure the NHS from escalations of such disease (as world anti-bacterial drugs are already failing due to over prescription) in this crowded island of forced multicultarial objectives and very messy EU agendas following the (2008) Lisbon treaty. We are all voting for our very cultural survival, UKip is far more important than the entire BBC stranglehold on media. On the 1st November England loses its national identity and democracy for good. Vote Conservative (or Labour) and get worthless euro money, corruption, Islam and a police state backed up with Liberalised BBC media thugs high on crack.

One would be the Labour, Conservative and Lib Dem parties representing our new ‘political class’, agreed on almost everything, including our continued subservience to that weird new ‘Europe-wide’ form of government centred in Brussels. The other would be the UK Independence Party. All these years later, it seems the voters of Clacton and Manchester have begun to get the message.”
