Still Liberal, Still Biased

BBC had ‘deep liberal bias’ over immigration, says former news chief

Nothing’s changed since 2004.

Here’s the BBC explaining, or rather explaining away, the immigration problem:

Q&A: Calais migrant crisis explained

Immigrants are just wonderful the BBC tells us…they all want to work, they speak English better than the natives…and they don’t want any welfare handouts at all…..

Why is the UK seen as a target?

It’s long been suggested that many migrants think they would have a better life in the UK as well as access to better benefits.

In fact migrants have quicker access to housing and benefits if they stay in France.

The British Red Cross agreed that it was a myth that migrants wanted to come to the UK for the benefits.

The charity also said that many of them have been taught or know English, and want to use the language.

Trouble is that’s all hogwash….and the BBC knows it…here it misses out a crucial part of the Mayor of Calais’ reasoning as she threatens to close the port:

Calais mayor Natacha Bouchart has previously threatened to shut down the port unless the British government did more to stop the problem of illegal immigration.

And not just in that article but this as well:

On Tuesday, the Mayor of Calais said she would blockade the port unless Britain helped to control the migrants.

Wonder why the BBC avoids this:

Calais Mayor Natacha Bouchart has long argued that Britain’s “generous welfare system” is the real cause of the migrant crisis in her town.

As for welfare……even as they wait in France they demand it….

“We do not want to live like animals but as normal human beings,” the letter says, stating they want “access to decent living conditions regardless of whether we are documented or not”. Last night one migrant, Younes Sajadi, said: “This would be a sensible solution to our situation.

Besides being given “houses in Calais with respectable hygiene, freedom from police checks, and three meals a day”, the migrants also want “negotiations between France and the United Kingdom” to ensure their arrival in Britain as soon as possible.

The BBC dodges around the question of benefits here:

‘In fact migrants have quicker access to housing and benefits if they stay in France.’

The BBC suggests only that they might get benefits faster in France (Migration Watch says:  In short, it is far easier to gain access to unemployment benefits in the UK than anywhere else in the EU15. ….so not true then…good old BBC) but avoids talk of how much…..and it looks like the UK government is the most generous with the handouts, the Mayor of Calais is correct….which is why immigrants flood here.

Update: H/T  The Beebinator in the comments who saw this plea from immigrants in Calais:

If we ask for asylum in France, they will make us wait many months before we can have access to a a shelter, whereas in England, in Germany, in Holland, they give us a house, we have access to school, to proper food and dignified conditions of life. France leaves us in the streets for more suffering.

“Our benefits are some of the most generous in Europe.”?

The UK was found to have larger than average “social assistance schemes, including housing and family benefits, as well as unemployment assistance” …but several other nations offered better benefits in other areas.

So housing, family and unemployment benefits are more generous in the UK then….all the major welfare benefits.

More Than 370,000 Immigrants On Benefits

Immigration to Britain ‘cuts Romanian unemployment’

It seems we are the most generous to those in low paid work as well:

From Migration Watch:

Comparison of UK Benefits with those of the EU14

The UK is far more generous than most other EU15 countries in topping-up low wages by just over 80% through in-work and housing benefits. This makes employment in the UK a very attractive for migrants from less wealthy EU member states, especially after adjusting for differences in the cost of living.

Access to unemployment benefit is also much easier than in other EU countries.

So, benefits are more generous and paid faster than most if not all other EU countries but the BBC tells us it is less generous and paid slower.

Everyone knows the huge problems associated with immigration and that’s not including social breakdown and intercommunal conflict.

The headlines have just been full of the massive cost to schools as the population grows enormously and we have just had the latest immigration figures….and they don’t tell the whole truth as they don’t give the net figure for foreign nationals coming here….the net overall figure is reduced by large numbers of British nationals emigrating…so the actual number of foreigners arriving on these shores is in fact a lot higher than the overall net figure…for instance the last immigration figures told us that 212,000 immigrants arrived here as a net figure…but the real net figure was something like 270,000 foreigners came here  if you took away foreign departures from foreign arrivals.

We’re being lied to and the BBC is still amongst those lying to us.

You might like to read this from NewsWatch:

BBC ‘ignores key immigration reports’

The BBC tells us they are being fair on immigration and indeed, they allow one of the chief correspondents to shout it from the rooftops. But meanwhile, when hard evidence is produced to show that this is not the case, they either ignore it altogether – or say it’s wrong. How very, very Animal Farm.

As I mentioned earlier, my mate who after a posting to Sierra Leone told me that the locals there know two things about the UK:
    1) Manchester Utd
    2) They give you a home for free.

Its all well and good blaming the French, but actually the fault is all ours. We have to start thinking about our people first, not people from other countries. Yes I know that some of these people are in dire straits , but until we rid them of the get to England and all your worries are over, then we will continue to see thousands across the water demanding a new life over here.

Heres what the illegal immigrants squatting in calais say, its a bit different from what the BBC and subversive charities tell us. But its looks like the BBC and Charities are doing what the criminal illegal immigrants are asking

“We ask the government, the humanitarian associations, the people, the media, to support us and to stand with us.
If we ask for asylum in France, they will make us wait many months before we can have access to a a shelter, whereas in England, in Germany, in Holland, they give us a house, we have access to school, to proper food and dignified conditions of life. France leaves us in the streets for more suffering.

We want France to give good living conditions to the refugee and if they can’t do this, they have to open the borders and to let people go to England. Many persones who tried to go to England died from it, crushed under the train, the trucks of the buses. One sudanese migrant who was trying to reach england hiden on the roof of a train got divided apart by an electric pylone, many other ones died under the wheels or inside the freezer of a truck.”

These “liberals” won’t be content until there’s standing room only in Britain. There is something approaching the schizophrenic in the lefty mind set whenever the question is posed as to where we’re all going to live. They argue that we don’t have too many people, just too few houses, schools and jobs. Eh? If I’m feeling particularly masochistic and decide to try to drive across London not only do I have to stump up for the eye watering congestion charge, but I’m stuck in glutinous traffic for hours. It would take me less time to motor down to Wales and back. We are absolutely overwhelmed with people. It’s suffocating.
Yasmin Alibaih-Brown was interviewed on the Beeb a couple of weeks ago regarding illegal entry to our country. According to Yazza we should allow altruistic types to sponsor these illegals for as long as they like, thus removing them from dependency on the rest of us. She cited Canada as an example of where this is practised. Did the BBC chap who was having this cosy chat with her point out the size of Canada, or remind her that it has a population of 35 million?
    What do you think?

The bBC, immigrants protesting in Calais iver wanting in to England….And half the story
Just watched this from the bbC:
Calais migrants in human rights protest
Migrants in Calais have taken part in a protest asking for human rights protection amid rising tensions at the French port….The protesters who took to the streets handed out a statement to journalists signed “the migrant communities in Calais”. …It read: “Migration is not a crime and each and every one of us has reasons why we had to leave our countries and our families and why we are here now.”Europe is always talking about human rights and freedom but we cannot find this here….A worker at a migrants’ charity clothes shop called on UK Prime Minister David Cameron to offer help to the migrants, saying they were becoming overwhelmed by the situation.

Now in light of all the reasons why people want to come to the Uk, here, and the bBC’s attempt to make them into victims. Here is something from 2002 when Sangatte was closed down that the bbC doesn’t tell you in the above article:

    Sangatte refugees arrive in Britain
The first group of asylum seekers destined for Britain from the Sangatte refugee camp under a deal between the Government and France arrived in the UK today on a Channel Tunnel train….The group is the first of 1,200 asylum seekers – 1,000 Iraqis and 200 Afghans – Britain has agreed to accept before the Sangatte centre closes on December 30.The group is to be allowed into the UK on four-year work visas, rather than as asylum claimants, and will be helped to find jobs….Home Secretary David Blunkett announced earlier this week that the UK would take 1,200 of the 4,800 people registered at the massive camp.He described the closure of “a festering sore in Anglo-French relations” as a “major achievement”.

The above was something which has bugged me for a while, then after watching that video, I remembered what it was.

Would I be correct to presume that in light of the above, that this is a French problem?

I’m sorry but if illegal immigrants start violently wielding knives and threatening UK lorry drivers and travellers returning to Britain they should be dealt with in the most severe manner possible; chained up and sent, in a crate, back to the turd world hell-hole from whence they came. Despicable rabble.

No, the French police should search them, if they find a knife, pull them aside and shoot them in the head. The rest will get the message.

The BBC loves to misuse language. So it is migrant now not illegal immigrant. This is what Will Self was going on about. How to use language to alter reality and bring about the liberal hell on earth.
The BBC does it’s bit. The people trying to storm into this country have no right at all to do it. It is intolerable. So using “migrant” is an attempt to alter reality.
It is also a denial of our rights- the settled people of this land who have lived here for generations. The BBC is worthless.

If they want these disease-ridden, Turd-World savages in Britain, then the libtards must put them up in their own houses, pay for their upkeep, legal fees etc. and allow them to rape their own daughters if they’re that way inclined.

Weird that socialist France is regarded as a worse place than our nominally-capitalist Britain; this presumably shows just how deeply the lefties got themselves stuck in to the UK welfare system, making it all-but impossible for a Con-Lib government to overturn.
But if the bBBC has its way and breaks up the UK for Scotland to establish a socialist utopia funded by the magic money-tree, the ‘migrants’ ought to head north of the border.

I might be a really slow learner, but was shocked to learn recently that “assylum seekers” and “refugees” are NOT counted as “immigrants”.
So the faked up numbers that subtract emigrations from immigrations and nett them off against each other, entirely exclude the category of the most unemployable, who need the most support!

    Amazing!

You all talk about the disinformation and then trot it out as it comes straight from the BBC !

Does it not strike you as strange that the BBC – not normally known to raise objection to the benefits culture appears complicit in blaming it here?

Do you not think there might be another reason why asylum seekers want to come here?

It’s pure ignorance to talk of top ups to low wages – asylum seekers aren’t allowed to work so that’s not the reason!

The amount asylum seekers receive is less that JSA which is already very low, but they do get water Electric & gas for free regardless of how much they use. I’m sure most JSA claimants would gladly swap places.

    No.
There is another reason which the BBC and other liberals don’t want to tell you !

Most other European countries monitor the situation in the countries asylum seekers / refugees come from, and if it improves they send them back again. Not the UK though! Once you’re here you’re here forever, and even if it’s shown you’re a bogus refugee you aren’t going to get sent back.
Nor if you commit some very serious offences it’s highly unlikely you’ll ever be sent back.

Free health care for them and their families unlike other European countries.

Add into that a very active black economy, easy access to underage white girls and Labour party officials who will actively turn a blind eye and you have the perfect set of reasons as to why asylum seekers want to come here.
