Funny yes, in a perverse tragi-comic kind of way, but also deeply disturbing, not least because it is so commonplace no one seems to notice or care much. Other than those at the sharp end of deadly attacks, and ultimately deadlier BBC propaganda.

One has to wonder how many amended versions can be created by the BBC before they realise they have buffed the most rank turd to a sparkly shine that fools no one with a nose for deceit.

So I’m catching up on the news and I read up on the state of affairs regards Gaza/Israel
Gaza conflict: Israel ‘targets Hamas leader Deif’
Hamas says the wife and child of its military commander, Mohammed Deif, have been killed in an Israeli air strike on the Gaza Strip. At least 19 Palestinians have died since hostilities resumed on Tuesday, with both sides blaming each other for the collapse of the Cairo peace talks.

with both sides blaming each other for the collapse of the Cairo peace talks.
    Really???
Nothing about terrorists inside Gaza lobbing 40 missiles into Israel hours before the end of the ceasefire.

With the BBC knowing that hundreds of Imams have spoken against ISIS it shouldn’t be hard for them to find a critic. Especially as ISIS has murdered thousands of other Muslims also.

I was going beg excuse for an OT, but it is really not, being about the oversight systems of an all powerful (and after death, taxes rank second) public sector entity.

What’s not so shocking is the level of foul-ups, but it is interesting what differences there exist between HMRC and the BBC.

For a start, there’s an actually independent adjudicator.

And, surprise, when complaints are not run through an internal secret old boys ‘ girls’ club they get up held more often than not. Try 90%.

Amazingly, the BBC manages near enough the exact reverse, Though I think they may on occasion claim 110% immunity from any complaint having value.

The BBC’s Frank Gardner on the Foley murder:

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-28867627

‘…These grisly murder videos are abhorrent to most Muslims and non-Muslims alike and they’ve even been discouraged by Osama Bin Ladin’s successor as a “vote loser”.’

But do they find such videos ‘abhorrent’, Frank? How would you know what ‘most muslims’ really think of them? How many resident Mid East muslims do you have round to your gaff in trendy North London? Can you prove that ‘most muslims’ (bearing in mind there are over 2 billion of them in the world) actually find the slaughter of white middle class Americans ‘abhorrent’?

The BBC – pontificating nonsense and misdirection, as usual.

The correct (And political correct) term to describe somebody who doesn’t have the use of his legs due to a bBC work related incident involving a machine gun and lots of bullets is:

I have to laugh, for years this blog has been pointing out the bBC bias towards global warming/Climate change (CC) etc..anything and everything is linked to CC and at the start of the year we had the flooding of the Somerset plains, which while largely blamed at a certain Mr Pickles by the left. The bBC as always pointed at climate change as the culprit.

Well knock me down, bugger me sideways and call me ‘Rodger the cabin boy’. The bBC has now come out with this:
    Growth drives UK flooding problems
“Part of the UK’s problem with flooding is self-imposed, new research suggests. The study says the number of reported major flood events has increased, but in parallel with population growth and a boom in building in vulnerable areas.”

Hang on isn’t that what so many people here have been saying for ages. Yet to the bBC and their ilk we are all lying bastards who actually should be sacked

So where do we go from here? and when does the bBC remove the above article and return to calling me a fatherless person who likes to sleep on his back a lot.

Meanwhile back home, Cameron and May eager to placate home grown Jihadists, would initiate prosecutions against those who used strong language against the enemy and its ideology.

Quite a few years ago now we bought a TV Licence from a local Post Office and for some reason, never revealed, they did not forward on the money. We did have a licence from this Post Office duly stamped. Later we had a letter from the Licensing Authority telling us that we were not licenced. I wrote back and said we were. The letter we got demanding proof that we had a licence was unbelievably rude. They obviously did not believe us. We, as requested, sent off a photo copy and were promised a refund of costs and postage, which of course never arrived.

I do not have a tv, so he was obviously checking on me!…..It was occupied all right, i could here coughing and belching…..i wish i’d challenged him now, but he must have twigged, drove off at speed…..couldn’t get his number, or else the police would have been called. ”Political correctness stifles everyone and enables this cultural destruction. It has roots that trace back to the Marxists of the Frankfurt School and is now entrenched in the mainstream and governs how we act and the language we speak.
All our values that we have fought for have been swapped around: Weakness=Strength; Division=Diversity; Deviant=Enriched; Patriotism=EU federal super state, etc. Almost everything that was positive before multiculturalism is now a negative; we are told to worship the demise of our own culture, religion and identity, by embracing other cultures instead’.

Try going through the DIY stores. They have their own sub contracted plumbers who generally do the work for a reasonable price. If you get a private plumber who orders the bathroom suite from his local builders merchant he makes a profit on that too, as well as brands being more expensive.
Mind you if you want to support British industry youre probably better doing that.

It is not surprising that the BBC et al are avoiding mentioning the obvious fact that if the UK hadn’t had mass immigration we wouldn’t be worrying about what may happen when the ISIS murders return to the UK.
I don’t suppose they consider this factor when they tell us how beneficial all this immigration has been to the UK.
Of course we all know that if there are terror attacks on the streets of the UK the BBC will make sure that we know that it is down to a few lunatics who are not practising Islam as its founder intended and that they are condemned by all other Muslims without equivocation . And of course its our own fault anyway and we should prostrate ourselves and our values to an even greater extent than we currently do , before the great faith of Islam.

Normally, to submit a comment to a BBC article, you fill out a form, and the comment appears.

Not so with the Have Your Say about the James Foley beheading (on http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-28867627):

‘You can send us your comments by emailing haveyoursay@bbc.co.uk using the subject line “James Foley”.

Alternatively, you can get in touch using the form below.’

I think that the BBC want to screen viewer comments before publication to prevent anything that might be offensive to muslims being posted.

This country needs a frank debate about muslim extremism in the UK. It doesn’t need censorship to prevent people’s feelings being bruised.

“British Muslims make up a quarter of foreign Jihadists who have pledged allegiance to the Islamic State”

      [Excerpt]:-

“This is the Britain that the British authorities, and those who elected them, have chosen and created. This is the Britain of Tony Blair, Gordon Brown, David Cameron, Jacqui Smith, Jack Straw, Theresa May and the rest. – Conclusion from:-

“Beheading in the Name of Islam”

    by Timothy R. Furnish,
    Middle East Quarterly,
    2005.

“And two major aspects of decapitation in an Islamic context should be noted:
first, the practice has both Qur’anic and historical sanction. It is not the product of a fabricated tradition.
Second, in contradiction to the assertions of apologists, both Muslim and non-Muslim, these beheadings are not simply a brutal method of drawing attention to the Islamist political agenda and weakening opponents’ will to fight. Zarqawi and other Islamists who practice decapitation believe that God has ordained them to obliterate their enemies in this manner. Islam is, for this determined minority of Muslims, anything but a ‘religion of peace.’ It is, rather, a religion of the sword with the blade forever at the throat of the unbeliever.”

Given the effort that the BBC claims to take of using ‘neutral’ language, e.g. ‘militant’ rather than ‘terrorist’, (one man’s terrorist is the BBC’s ‘freedom fighter’ and all that), isn’t it time it stopped using terms like ‘British Muslim’, ‘British Man’ etc., terms that imply some attachment to these isles, and used the more accurate and neutral ‘Muslim resident in Britain’ or ‘Pakistani resident in Britain’?

  28. Anyone on this site tried Reuters on line site? It’s refreshing to see a balanced and straight forward news service. Compare it with the BBC ‘s and you will be surprised. It points out incidentally that ethnic minorities make up a whopping 14% of voters in this country and may decide that the (rather useless) Tories might not do another term. Not that I mind especially being no fan of the “ethically cleansed” Cameron and his band. I’m just thinking that it’ll mean possibly a decade of Milliband and Balls. Which will be worse. Proving that Labours immigration policy really has worked. And we were never asked about immigration. Yep. Democracy’s doing just fine for the Liberal elite.

Be honest what has changed for the better in the last 5 years? Just more of the same, and I voted Tory!

Remember apart from the period 79-90, the last 50 years have yielded a Tory party who took us into Europe and have continued what Heath started ever since and now we have Dhimmi Dave.

Don’t get me wrong I can’ t stand Labour and have never voted for them, but voting either Tory or Labour is just voting for more of the same. Even if UKIP just get one MP, hopefully Farage it will be a start just to get his voice in the HOC.

In essence voting Labour or Tory is voting for the further destruction of this once great nation and more of the same as to what has happened in the period 90-14, I’m taking a punt on the outsider, what other hope have we got?

But would agree UKIP are far from perfect.

How many times have you seen the bBC report on the killing of three Israeli youths as such:(All of the below are from the bBC)
“An upsurge in rocket-fire followed an Israeli clampdown on Hamas in the West Bank after the murders of three Israeli teenagers which Israel blamed on the group.”

“Tension between Gaza and Israel rose after the abduction and killing of three Israeli teenagers in June. Israel blamed the killings on Hamas, though the group denied involvement.”

Rocket fire from militants in Gaza and Israeli air strikes on the territory increased after the abduction and killing of three Israeli teenagers in June, which Israel blamed on Hamas and which led to a crackdown on the group in the West Bank. Hamas denied being behind the killings.

Israeli officials have said Marwan Qawasmeh and Mr Abu Aisha are known Hamas operatives, but the group has denied any involvement. Some have argued that the Qawasmeh clan might have acted on its own.

Get the drift from the bBC, even thou the Israeli knew exactly who did the killings, that they were Hamas operatives and that they ran off to Jordan after the killings. Killings I should add happened after numerous calls that weekend from Hamas to kidnap a jew.
(The poor lads were in 2 separate groups, of 1 and 2. when the car stopped to kidnap the single boy, the other two ran round the corner and jumped in. They could handle 1, maybe 2, but not 3)

The Hamas official, Salah al-Aruri made the comments during a conference of Islamic clerics in Turkey. He praised the “heroic action of the Kassam Brigades who kidnapped three settlers in Hebron.”

It is getting bizarre. The liberal media has not got a clue about how to deal with the murder of the American. Bluster and mislead for that they are well equipped.
Now today I heard what is really the crux of the matter.
An ordinary Englishman talking to his friends said ( I paraphrase his words) that he could not understand or accept that the indigenous people of old England are being exposed to the risk of mayhem and war on their streets and in their towns.
That it had never happened before and that whoever allowed this country to come to this ( by which he meant the governing class ) was guilty of treachery at the least.
We are at a turning point and this is what even the liberal dimly realises. We wish to raise our families in the peace we always have had ( at least since the Civil War ) and that was the failure of the governing class.
The elite can scream at us all they want but minds are made up and it would be a foolish government that takes no notice of the public mood.
That the media will fail to report this is inevitable.
The media has failed us. The politicians have failed us.The law and the judges have failed us. The entire governing class has failed us.
Now quite ordinary folk are fearful of the future. That makes them to be feared in their turn. Accusing them of various phobias and un PC thoughts must stop.
What was once a happy land with a social capital built up over generations has been wilfully allowed to go to waste.
Those responsible never asked us or thought they should do so. These are dark days coming and I do not relish them.

Capital city, a separate nation culturally and ethnically . A shrinking demoralised military. NHS swamped. Generational families that have never worked. Foreign terrorists who live amongst us. A medieval aggressive religion introduced without consultation or thought. …The decent hardworking tolerant people of this nation deserved better than this.

    • Charlatans says:

      “How did we get here?”
The facts are plain and simple.
Our proud, tolerant and decent Nation elected a Labour Government for 13 years.
They inherited the most Golden legacy any Government ever had in the history of this country.
They imposed upon us a ‘spinning’ culture that made Weapons of Mass Destruction lies just the tip of an iceberg.

They failed miserably in every Department of State:

      1. The lunatic Benefits culture.
      2. Bank Regulation – They destroyed our economy again – the second time they were in Government in my lifetime.
      3. The slowest growth in 50 years; they produced the fastest decline in British manufacturing since manufacturing began.
      4. They left us mired in the longest recession ever bequeathing us the largest deficit in peacetime history,
      5. The debt so huge our Grandchildren will still be repaying it off.
      6. Blair got rid of most of Thatcher’s EU rebate leaving us a daily bill of 57 million PER DAY, (chortling after-dinner promise from Jacques Chirac that he’d make Tony Blair President of the EU, which he didn’t. A small mercy and big escape – EU encouraged Ukraine trauma without him – imagine what would be the situataion with him).
      7. Immigration – where does one start?
They wanted to rub our noses into it – they certainly did that.
Nearly 4 million net increase, (plus god knows how many illegal’s). More than entered these islands in the preceding 1,000 years combined.
      8. But instead of catering for this deliberate increase with schools, doctors, housing: THEY nearly destroyed the NHS – including avoidable death rates going through the roof – 1,200 died in Mid-Staffordshire alone. Taking us back to medieval times of the Black Death.
      9. Talking of Medieval –
the Wars they got wrong – Afghan & Iraq being there most heinous crimes –
      resulting in ISIS –
radiclising UK Muslims to Syria and Rigby, FMG, Muslim Paedo gangs all over our land.
This is a brewing legacy which we all, (including the vast majority of non-radical decent Muslim population themselves), will have to face up to determinedly face up to this problem now in the same way we stood up to Hitler – mark my words!
      10. They built less houses under there reign than since the 20s – notwithstanding this millions increase in the population! They now even question why house prices have no longer become affordable by the upcoming generation, since they made it an area only the rich can enjoy, like their current front bench ‘Millionaires Row’ – not to mention the Blair’s!
      11. They raided 5 billion a year from pensions.
      12. They sold off 400 tons of UK gold at the lowest price possible – yet they want to criticise Royal Mail sell off – totally different league! More neck than a Giraffe!
      13. UK School results slipped from in the world’s top 5 to now in the late 20s. Biggest error was closing Grammar Schools which gave the poor a chance – and allowing Muslims to run Madras’s – another legacy we currently having to unpick!
      16. They failed to build a lot of the other necessary infrastructure such as power stations. ZERO is that total.
      13. Its easy now to forget the Millennium Dome – 800 million pounds lost – it seems insignificant chicken feed now compared with the total overall legacy!
      18. They continually increased fuel duty by over 107% – YES that much – now thankfully escalator dropped.
      19. Brown sneakily, discreetly signed the Lisbon treaty, giving vast amounts of power to the EU – going against their own manifesto in which they specifically said they would give the people a referendum.
      20. Allowing rich people to buy peerages – even Police interviewed the Prime Minister – what sort of Prime Minister is that! Possibly the one currently under-going Maxwellisation under Chilcot!
      21. Started HS2.
      22. PFI – again where does one start – just £50 Billion’s worth is costing us £300 Billion in repayments-genius!
      23. They have given us a radical Muslim problem which sometime in the future the country is going to have to face head on.
      24. They can’t even run their party finances with constant debts – Nor Co-op Bank – relying on Union Barons to call the shots.
      25. Under Labour MPs fiddling/expenses ballooned – same as Pedophile scandals.
Even 5 Labour MPs found guilty of expenses fraud by a court and sent to prison
      26. Racist Diane Abbott.,
      27. Labour corruption from Eccleston to Qinteq defence service making LABOUR Lord Drayson worth over £542 MILLION
      28. The gap between rich and poor widened vastly under Labour?
      28. They allowed a substantial amount of our 0.7% overseas aid pledge to be corrupted.
      29. Sucked up to crony public sector Unions inflating public pay and pensions way above the private sector.
      30. Imposed postal voting extension open to political corruption – just look at Tower Hamlets recently – tip of an iceberg!
      31. Packed Quangos full of Labour cronies that it is causing huge ongoing problems for the majority of the Nation who do not vote Labour.
      32. Impoverished millions with the Climate Change Act of alternative energy zealotry.
      33. Created the catastrophe of multicultural extremism by damming those RACIST who dared to point out the real issues.
      34. Sent our military to wars under equipped – heinous.
      35. Created welfare as a lifestyle, with the totally dysfunctional tax credit system, and the catastrophe of excessive housing benefit
      36. Labour insisted on 50% of pupils going to university even though degree level jobs for only 20%.

Got a 100 other points – but the blood pressure too much now!

Ed Balls making every parent a ‘criminal’ if they shared a car to take kids to school without a CRB check and then the godawful ‘Badman Review’ which would have banned all Parents legally educating their own children at home. Then there are the Quangos and NGO’s (thousands) appointed by Gordon Brown to carry the torch for Labour in opposition (or in government), The BBC is one big Quango. Stuffing the House of Lords with unpatriotic and self serving Labour jobs worths (unemployable). Treason by changing 1664 Charity Regulations to become corrupted by Suzi Leather and Andrew Hinde (ex BBC) which enabled public money to fund Labour pet charities in secret. National Lottery money was ‘diverted’ to fund Labour causes and benefits. We know that the EU LISBON treaty (2008) was treachery and all kept secret just before they ran out of time (AND MONEY!) “The Zwarte Pieten have roughly the same relationship to the Dutch Saint Nicolas that the elves have to America’s Santa Claus. According to tradition, the saint has a Piet for every function: there is a head piet (Hoofdpiet), navigation Pieten (wegwijspiet) to navigate the steamboat from Spain to the Netherlands, packing Pieten (pakjespiet) to pack all the gifts, acrobatic Pieten to climb roofs and stuff presents down the chimney, or to climb down the chimneys themselves. Over the years many stories have been added, but over the years.
Zwarte Piet developed from a rather unintelligent assistant into a full assistant of the absent-minded Sint.[3]

Traditionally their faces are blackened because Zwarte Piet is a Spanish (Moorish) servant of Sinterklaas (though some people said Zwarte Piet was originally a slave who, when Sinterklaas bought him his freedom, was so grateful that he stayed to assist him). Today, sometimes the more politically correct explanation that Pete’s face is “black from soot” (as Pete has to climb through chimneys to deliver his gifts) is used.
With the influx of immigrants to the Netherlands starting in the late 1950s, Zwarte Piet is now felt by some to be racist”

In the Nederland we have black Pete

In the Uk, we’ve had the black and white minstrels, blacked up Morris dancers ,all have been condemned as racist.

      Then we have these:
      True Identity

      White Chicks

For some strange reason nobody has spoken out about the last two, especially if somebody white knocked out a film called black chicks today, it would be seen as pure racism.

Watching Newsnight last night as it went through the charade of faux concern over the death murder of James Foley, I thought that discovering the identity of the British-accented Islamic State criminal who carried out the crime should not be very difficult at all. His voice was more than clear enough in that recording for anyone who knew him here at home to recognise it, or to at least have a very, very good suspicion who he is.

Family? They know who he is. Neighbours? They know who he is. His friends here in the UK? They know who he is.

Have these ‘moderate’ muslims, concerned for ‘community cohesion’ and ‘cultural diversity’ in our community come rushing forward to the relevant authorities with their information to help identify this homicidal maniac?

Nah, thought not. Many muslims here in the UK know who this man is. Why are they not coming forward?

I had to phone somewhere last year and the man who answered came out with his name, ********** , Jim ******* speaking. I was stunned, I replied, that’s not Jim ******* from ******* and he replied yes it is *******, calling me by name.

        1) I never gave my name

        2) I hadn’t spoken to the bloke for over 20 years.

It’s all in the words: Radio 5’s Rhod Sharp introduces an item on Californian solar power with the comparison between “liberal environmentalists and the extreme far right” [1:42]. The reporter sums up, after the words from a previous Republican presidential candidate Barry Goldwater Jnr. , “liberal left and hard right” [1:45].

Which side is the ‘good’ side children? Drip, drip, drip.

In passing, the next item is about Asians buying houses in New York. No not those Asians, silly! The ones that get on with their lives and who make all those goodies for us for grains of rice.

Beeboids are forever campaigning for limitless numbers of ‘asylum seekers’ to enter Britain.

This Beeboid report on Austria indicates how easy it is for the Islamic jihad Trojan Horse to get into the E.U via that route.

Strangely, I found it because it is sitting at No. 4 in the “most shared” list – but it is nowhere in the “most read” list. Yet. Call me cynical, but I wonder who is doing the sharing to make sure it’s prominent in the list?

Interesting you should notice that. I noticed a similar thing the other day. All the ‘most shared’ stories seemed to be the ones sympathetic to the BBC’s view but the ‘most read’ weren’t. And what does the widget default to? Most shared.

They’re not manipulating this, are they??

The BBC and claims; those they like, those they ignore, those they share others like, or don’t….

    Media Lens ‏@medialens
BBC: ‘Then came President Assad’s use of chemical weapons against his own people.’ No, it remains a contested claim http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-28867370

It’s not balance though. As too many agree the BBC punts out claims under a variety of guises, ranging from flat out uncorroborated fact through PR to “quotes” to, all too rarely, flagged ‘best there is’, which often may be better left until proven.

Whatever it is, once through the BBC Editorial Guidelines and internal filters, it is not news, probably inaccurate and seldom objective.

News24: bBC selective as to how PC they are, forever using the word alleged when something is obvious has happened. So when reporting on the undercover cops that they are not to face criminal prosecution; they claimed that the cops conned the women. Where is the proof, bBC makes a judgement as to what happened.

I must admit I find it a very strange case. Having sexual relations with a woman whilst pretending to be someone else surely isn’t a crime. The women were adults and consented. If the Policemen committed a crime than so has every bloke who pretended to have a good job and a car so they can get their leg over some woman who is only interested in what they can get out of a bloke.

and the story appears to be that the “Gentle Giant” had already wrestled for the cop’s gun while the cop was in the car – and was now rushing at the cop whom he had already beaten badly from about 20 feet away.

Sounds like self-defence to me, just like the George Wasserman case. But the BBC will not present that possibility to us.

Not BBC I know, but the junior partner in the BBC-Guardian axis. The Guardian’s reporting on UKIP’s sneak peak at its manifesto is already beyond belief before it’s even started:

    Immediately beneath the title:

Reading the entire piece, it’s all over the place. It reeks of fear tbh.

The shock, I tell you shock here at this revelation is hard to quantify.

One does notice ‘the BBC’ did not have room in the headline to point out it was the BBC DG offering this unconflicted opinion about the BBC.

So rather than answering any questions, Lord Pantone has simply pulled a ‘got it about right’ and moved on.

      Not so uniquely.

‘The force complained to Lord Hall and said the BBC appeared to have broken its own editorial guidelines.’

This rather key aspect appears to remain unaddressed.

      Why?

This was an item on yesterday’s Media Show on Radio 4. The conclusion was that the BBC was perfectly correct to blackmail the police into giving them an exclusive, but that the police were seriously at fault for allowing themselves to be blackmailed.

‘Enough sages have decided the BBC and South Yorkshire Police have questions to answer about the search of Sir Cliff Richard’s Sunningdale flat to require a fairly detailed response from both parties.’

Yet Tone has issued waffle and the key question (above) remains unanswered. Very BBC.

‘If he did his own thinking over the deal with South Yorkshire Police, he may wish to reconsider. At least, it wasn’t him who called the helicopters in.’

That sack must be awfully full. Or big. Or both.

So I’m watching this bBC report on the funeral of Mohammed Daif and Yolande Knell reports from the site of the air strike wearing body armour and no helmet. The question I have to ask is why?
    1) There are no IDF troops in Gaza, so no chance of getting shot.
    2) if on the chance, an airstrike hits nearby , wearing body armour would make very little difference, however wearing a Helmet would make more of a difference.(not much,)

So the question you have to ask is why is she wearing body armour ? Could it be to promote this sense of Gazian victimhood, that people are scared to go outside in case they get hit from above. Well if that was the case the thousands of people who attended shown at the start of the video protesting don’t subscribe to that fearset.

This is how the bbC defends Islamic terrorism
