Has anybody else notice how the when the bBC reports from the current situation in Gaza, it quotes a collective figure for Israeli air strikes ( 550) yet only offers how many rockets Hamas has launch today (72)
Which allows them to promote this view that the Jew is nasty and evil towards those poor bloody thirsty f-ing muslims who during their so called unholy month prefer ‘Murder, death, kill’ to peaceful thoughts.

Today I heard an Israelispokesman being told that Israel will have to make concessions if it wants peace (sorry but cannot remember if Radio 4 or BBC 1 news) and will have to stop building new settlements. But the Hamas spokesman was not asked if Hamas should accept that Israel has the right to exist just had the weasel words from him that Israel should withdraw from Palestinian Territories . He was not asked if by that he meant Israel itself, which he probably did.

Here’s a transcript of the Lawson/Hoskins interview on Today.

      http://www.thegwpf.org/Hoskins-vs-lawson-the-climate-debate-the-bbc-wants-to-censor/

If the BBC’s argument for further restricting sceptic input to their discussions on AGW is the superior knowledge of ‘the scientists’, Hoskins fails spectacularly to make that superiority count:

‘Justin Webb: Lord Lawson was saying there that there had been a pause – which you hear a lot about – a pause of 10 / 15 years in measured rising of temperature. That is the case isn’t it?

Sir Brian Hoskins: It hasn’t risen very much over the last 10-15 years. If you measure the climate from the globally averaged surface temperature, during that time the excess energy has still been absorbed by the climate system and is being absorbed by the oceans.

Justin Webb: So it’s there somewhere?

Sir Brian Hoskins: Oh yes, it’s there in the oceans.

Lord Lawson: That is pure speculation.

Sir Brian Hoskins: No, it’s a measurement.

Lord Lawson: No, it’s not. It’s speculation.’

Lawson is right, there is no comprehensive historical temperature record – and virtually none at all for the southern hemisphere – to prove this theory. It doesn’t take a scientist to be aware of that fact.

No wonder the BBC were deluged with complaints from the eco-fascists but, instead of weighing up the arguments themselves by a doing a bit of research available to anybody with access to the internet, they stick their arses in the air and enjoy a good rogering from their 28gate mates.

      Quelle surprise.

Heard this on the news. The North South divide- Because London sucks in all the investment into the UK the Government is giving northern areas money to help address the balance. One are in the North East is getting £170 Million and with that they are going to build a new roundabout and link two towns. Apparently this will increase the knowledge base of the area. Those poor people in the North East would have Degrees and Doctorates by now but for the want of a new roundabout
Then the next item of news was that London will receive £330 Million to build yet another bridge over the Thames Fantastic!

Yes we get so much in the SE. The SE Thames crossing that was planned in the 70’s still not built. Tolls on bridges in the North are being reduced. The Dartford toll that was supposed to stop because it was all paid off, sold off by Brown to a private company. Yes we do get a lot down here.

Al Beeb reports that NHS is in crisis. We may have to pay for services.
In my opinion,..its because the service is being turned into an International Health Service with the million plus immigrants, legal and otherwise that have flooded in to the country under the previous government, added to the fact that the present government have been totally inept in stemming the tide. Compounding this crisis, we have a huge percentage of the NHS staff being employed as administrators at a time when computers should have long replaced all bureaucracy now in existence. Time to turn ‘pen-pushers’ into ‘doctors and nurses’.

  7. Rob says:

Heard this on the radio the other day. Because London and the SE sucks in most of the investment into the UK. The Government has started to give grants to areas in the north to reduce the North-South divide and distribute more evenly some of the investment. One area in the NE is to get a £170 Million grant and will use this money to build a new roundabout and link two areas together. Apparently this will up-skill the people in that area. There must be lots or people in the NE glad that they will now be able to go to University and many with Masters Degrees can now complete their Doctorates now that a new roundabout will be built. Then as if that wasn’t condescending enough, the next item was that London was to receive £330 Million to build yet another bridge across the Thames! Looks like the only North South divide the Government in fact any Government is concerned about is the divide across the Thames

Does not take long to find gross bias. I had been listening to the whole presentation in Parliament of the bill caused by the EU court. At 1.40pm on 24 news they showed only Cooper giving a small part of her speech which showed some concerns, then David Davis with his criticism.

What they did not state or show was that Labour collaborated with the Bill and Cooper fully agreeing with it.
The they went on about the strikes and interviewed the Greens latest leader. I doubt that the public realise that Greens are Socialist that are even more bonkers than labour. bBC news molding your mind, no wonder the EU is called the Fourth Reich, the bBC is ready to be given the role of suppliers of Propaganda.

Why Coe is set to win BBC race – http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-28243080

‘for the government, which for this sort of thing really means the prime minister and chancellor, Lord Coe is the outstanding candidate.

So presumably they will find a way to get him over these many hurdles.

Why do they rate him so highly?

Well they know him well (George Osborne and Coe once shared an office, I think),

Oh, and he is a Tory, which is de rigueur (other candidates take note).’

FFS Peston, don’t beat around the bush. If you think that Cameron is guilty of cronyism, come out and say it!

‘Also Lord Coe is reckoned to be broadly positive about the BBC, which matters to Cameron and Osborne because – unlike perhaps the majority of Tory MPs – they are supporters of and believers in the BBC.’

If true. that’s because they were wets, not real Tories in the Mrs Thatcher mold.

But they place value on how the BBC wins important friends for Britain overseas – the role it plays in reinforcing the country’s “soft power” – and what they would see as its largely standard-raising role in the ecology of UK news, arts and media businesses.
I’m sure they don’t value the general anti-Tory bias in BBC reporting, or how the BBC makes it harder for unsubsidized private sector media companies to compete.
That does not mean the review of the BBC’s charter – which the government said when advertising for the post of Trust chairman will now not start till after the general election – would be easy for the BBC, if the Tories form the next government.

The BBC would doubtless face challenges on the scope of what it does and could not expect any increase in the licence fee out of line with austerity in the rest of the public sector.
In other words, if you value the BBC, vote Labour.
the BBC Trust chairman could step into the fray and shield the DG from heat in a crisis, without that compromising the chairman’s perceived impartiality as regulator
Oh lovely – good to know that public money is still used to pay for whipping boys.
if the BBC is not dismantled, the Trust may be.
Here’s hoping that they both are dismantled or at least privatised.

Something else I’ve just noticed about that piece was that it was opened up for comments, which has prompted a flurry of silly Tory bashing remarks (which is unsurprising, given that Peston had basically accused the Tories of rigging the outcome).

I question why comments are allowed for some stories but not others. It’s like someone at the BBC thought:

‘If we allow people to comment on this article, there will be lots of Tory bashing comments. Let’s do it!’.

Luckily (for the BBC), such decisions fall under the blanket of ‘purposes of…’, so even if BBC editorial only opened the comment thread during a period when vast numbers of public sector Labour voting ‘workers’ were enjoying the sun at home whilst those who fund them struggled into the office or factory, such decisions would remain their little secret.

Given the number of journalist and researchers at its disposal, it’s very difficult indeed to imagine the BBC will have missed this article in The Times:

    http://www.thegwpf.org/research-paper-on-ipcc-climate-models-censored-by-american-meteorological-society-journal/

‘Research that questioned the accuracy of computer models used to predict global warming was “censored” by climate scientists, it was alleged yesterday.

One academic reviewer said that a section should not be published because it “would lead to unnecessary confusion in the climate science community”. Another wrote: “This entire discussion has to disappear.”

The paper suggested that the computer models used by the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) were flawed, resulting in human influence on the climate being exaggerated and the impact of natural variability being underplayed.’

Hmmm, this was a paper written by climate scientists – you know, the sceptical variety that aren’t supposed to exist according to the BBC.

And, as the BBC have ignored the story, they clearly still don’t.

BBC headline story on the web page, apparent illegal immigrant is refused entry to the UK after he loses ‘his’ ‘passport’ with all the Home Office documents in it, of which he has failed to take a single copy!

The beastly Home Office is the villain of the piece for refusing to reissue a legitimate passport on the ground that they have no records of him ever being granted one, and the onus being on him to prove that he was.

Totally biased and one sided, just read the language used and decide for yourself if this is a fair representation of both sides.

    • Umbongo says:

Not that I’d believe the Home Office if it said the sun will rise tomorrow but, if said Indonesian does have indefinite leave to remain, then the HO should be able to access the documentation accordingly. Presumably there is a file at the HO (either on hard disc and/or paper) headed “Agung Mantra” containing details of his residential status.
Although I wouldn’t put it past the HO to lie through its collective teeth on any matter you care to mention, as Thoughtful implies, a foreign “businessman” with no copies (either with him or with his wife at home) of his immigration status in the country where he lives and works is highly suspicious.
However, let’s praise the BBC for “learning” of yet another case of apparent racism. Of course, the BBC in its usual misleading fashion headlines this as happening not to an “Indonesian” but to a “Cornwall man” and he’s further described as a “Cornish businessman”. How’s that for “accuracy”?
An objective and impartial description of Mr Mantra would be “an Indonesian living and working in Cornwall” but a headline “Indonesian stranded in Bali” just doesn’t have the resonance and would be on a par with, say, “Scotsman trapped in Glasgow”.
I’m surprised he’s not described as a “Briton”. After all, the BBC’s favourite son, Binyam Mohammed, was constantly referred to as a British resident by the BBC when he was nothing of the kind.

Channel 4 boss (Lord Burns) said in The Times (Today Friday) that the BBC should be paid by subscription only and it was absurd that no alternative funding was being investigated by the BBC – now we have and use ‘freeview’ and the BBC ‘iPlayer’. ‘Nobody at the BBC wants to address this’ he said. And the former head of media regulator ‘Ofcom’ (Dame Colette Bowe) also said that the BBC should be open to a dramatic change in the funding model. (Needless to say the BBC is not regulated by OfCom). James Purnell the BBC’s ‘head of strategy’ stated that ‘…’it would jeopardise the BBC’s public broadcasting ethos and be hugely expensive’ – and by that he refereed to ‘freeview’ TV services having to block millions of ‘non-subscribers’ (i.e. the UK public refusing to pay for it), and stand to loose about £500 million pounds in revenue’. Moving to ‘subscriptions based’ would mean that households could opt-out of paying for the BBC without facing prosecution. But the BBC wants it BOTH ways i.e exclusive rights to ‘iPlayer’ (and keep the License fee to access ‘iPlayer for license holders” this means blocking Channel 4 based on ‘security issues’ no doubt requiring big bucks to pay the BBC ‘under license’.

I did not mean to watch it honest I was just browsing and there it was. I am not the type of person that watches that type of stuff you have to believe me officer. BBC last night Russell Howards good news it was so bad I am not sure if I was just imagining it, he compared George Bush’s mother to a monkey urinating into its own mouth. Would he dared do the same to a black democrat?
