‘I wouldn’t call it England anymore!’

The BBC run this bit of anti-Israeli propaganda:

The Christian family refusing to give up its Bethlehem hill farm

Lots of emotive language and phrasing used by the BBC to create a sense that the Israelis are oppressing these people, these victims.

The BBC could have saved a lot of time and effort and just recycled this old trope:

A picture is worth a thousand words…..and that pretty much sums up the BBC’s article.

The BBC though doesn’t bother with other unwanted ‘settlers’, this time in the UK:

Angry villagers warn of riots unless police act on Roma: Residents say they will take law into their own hands if authorities do not take action over anti-social behaviour

Hexthorpe has a population of 3,300 and 500 Roma residents, most of whom are said to have arrived since January when entry rules to the UK were relaxed.

Villagers claim Roma groups are fly-tipping and leaving litter in the streets. They say they make so much noise at night that elderly residents have to sleep with ear plugs, while others are scared to go outside.

The meeting also heard allegations of assault.

Paul Adams, 44, who works in advertising, said: ‘They don’t care about the village or our community. All they are here for is the benefits.

‘They are here to play the system. They are loud, aggressive and intimidating. They gather in groups in the park and on the streets. They’ve attacked people, threatened people. People are intimidated just leaving the house.

‘They throw rubbish everywhere, literally out of their windows into their garden, in the knowledge someone from the council will have to clear it up. It is degrading for the street cleaners to have to be treated that way. What these people need is educating in how to be part of the community.’

He said the problems had hit local house prices too warning: ‘It will come to a point where blood will be spilt if things don’t improve.’

Wonder whose side the BBC would take in that dispute?

Meanwhile elswhere the BBC has been promoting East European immigration, once again selling us the benefits without mentioning the downsides:

Pole to Pole

No guessing what, or who, this is about…curious the Poles moan loudly about any reports of compatriot’s bad behaviour in the Press but have no complaints about a positive press from the likes of the BBC.

The aim of this programme is not to inform or add to the debate on immigration, it is pure hype, selling the sizzle, polishing the Polish.  Its sole aim is to create a warm fuzzy feeling in the listener’s heart for the good old Poles, so hard working, so intelligent, so nice, so paying taxes, so not claiming any benefits…..once you realise what warm and wonderful characters these Poles are, how much they add to the economy, how much culture, creativity and vitality they bring to staid old Britain, you’ll welcome them, in their millions, with open arms.

The whole premise of that narrative is of course missing the point.  The Poles are, or many of them, undoubtedly all those things, but the issue is numbers of immigrants and whose job are they going to be undercutting, whose house are they going to be living in, whose school place will their kids be taking, whose hospital bed or GP slot will they occupy etc etc.

All issues the BBC doesn’t like to emphasise.  It just likes to emphasise the positive, even if the positive is more often than not merely positive thinking, an immigration policy based on the optimistic belief that it’ll all turn out alright, eventually…and in the meantime….

Even the Poles themselves thought immigration had gone too far saying:

I wouldn’t call it England anymore…you have gone too far.’

At least the BBC let that comment through without being blue pencilled.

Radio 4 followed that up with this today:

Hail Marys and Miniskirts

Yet again telling us how great the immigrants were, this time Irish in the swinging 60’s.

Can’t help being suspicious this had a subtext beyond championing immigration as it revolved a great deal around the extremism of the Catholic Church in Ireland…..any coincidence coming just after much debate about Muslim extremism in British schools and society?  Are we supposed to say  ‘What a nightmare the  Catholic Church is…maybe Muslims aren’t so bad after all‘?

However despite being a nightmare, faith, in a personal sense, we are told was ‘central to life and identity….the Church was very important to them.’

So perhaps the message we are supposed to imbibe from the BBC is let Muslims get on with their religion….so important to their life and identity that we mustn’t judge or proscribe.

The BBC, just entertaining and informing us, or targeting and manipulating us and our views?

While the BBC may not be missing the major Israeli story of the kidnapped boys it is certainly underplaying it. The farm story may be just coincidence but I doubt it.

On the specifics of the story. If as the story states Bishara (“Gospel”) Nassar was a child when his father bought this land in 1916. there are documents. If he doesn’t have the original title deeds (hmmm?) the Turkish real estate registry in Istanbul definitely does. He could, in one day, gain an injunction in Israeli courts to stop development and fight the alleged land grab through the Israeli system.

The claim that he doesn’t have funds is nonsense. Dozens of weell-funded NGOs would fund the case as it suits their agenda and I would be surprised if the Palestinian Authority and overseas governments would fail to ante up

The core group of Gush Etzion includes four Jewish agricultural villages that were founded in 1940-1947 on property purchased in the 1920s and 1930s, and destroyed by the Arab Legion before the outbreak of the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. The original settlements were rebuilt after the 1967 Six-Day War, along with new communities that have expanded the area of the Etzion Bloc to 22 communities with a population of 70,000.

BTW It is extremely unlikely that in the event of a settlement, with the Arabs, that the Etzion Bloc will become part of a Palestinian State but will be formally incorporated in Israel and equivalent land transferred to the Palestinians. The Nassars will become Israeli residents and presumably citizens.

With all the blather about Christians in the holyland the BBC misses three important issues. Firstly, Christians have been deeply involved in Palestinian Nationalism from the earliest days. This was explained to me once that realising they could never achieve equality or even protection in a Muslim society they aimed to be recognised as ethnic Arabs in a secular society. You could argue that the Christians (or at least some) were Palestinians long before the Muslims realised it would help them in the propaganda war to adopt the label.

Secondly, the peace and love vibe is not typical of Christians in the area. Apart from those who actively joined terrorist groups (George Habash who lead PFLP, for example) other Christian groups are active participants in the public diplomacy war such as Kairos.

Thirdly, as perhaps most importantly, despite Christian efforts to prove their loyalty to Palestine and the propaganda advantages to Arafat and later Abbas to acknowledge this their population is shrinking quickly especially in areas under Palestinian control. Land grabs by the thugs of the Authority are well known and unlike those dealing with Israel they have no real recourse to the justice system.

I like the title of this post – which could almost be a new corporate tag line for the BBC – so I will make my comment here.

On line the BBC post this video

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-27905425

‘In 90 seconds: Who are ISIS?’

I was a little uneasy when I watched it. Ambiguous to say the least. It almost smacks of a recruiting ad.

    ‘Who are ISIS?’

Thanks to hyper immigration, maybe your minicab driver tonight, or the bloke in the corner shop….

…and those impressionable and culturally square pegged into a round holed left-liberal post-England ‘by default’ are going to pick up on the measured BBC voice over rather than the sheer infotainment of it all? Now what was the BBC last telling me about irresponsible video games? Nasty boys toys anyone?

Agent S – are you joined up, Scotty?

It almost goes without saying. No counter argument or reply from any on the Israel side was provided – were they even asked for?

It reminds me of someone I defriended on Facebook some time ago. She had reproduced a left-wing pro-Palestinian map showing how the “Jews” had expanded their possessions in the Israel-Palestine area since 1900(?). The accusation being that Israel was trying to annexe the whole of the West Bank etc. As most of it was legally bought prior to 1948, I thought I’m sure I could find maps of Bradford or Birmingham which showed how the Muslims had increased their “land possession” since 1950 in much the same way, but without the lefties finding anything wrong with that, indeed actually welcoming and promoting that ethnic-cleansing.

Just from the first couple of lines you can see the emotive language of this being the little guy (Palas) vs the big bully (Israelis) which usually resonates with the British public as we always support the little guy.

Spot the difference between these very similar bBC articles:
Banners at east Belfast home treated as hate crime by police
Police are treating as a hate crime banners put outside a house in east Belfast where a man originally from Nigeria was due to move in. Michael Abiona, 34, was greeted with posters reading “Local Houses 4 Local People” at Glenluce Drive on Tuesday. The Housing Executive is treating it as “racial intimidation”.
    And
Nelson ‘Pakistani only’ To Let sign removed
A ‘To Let’ sign advertising for a Pakistani family has been taken down after families complained to police.

Residents contacted officers after spotting the sign in a window at a house in Nelson, Lancashire. The handwritten advert read ‘For Rent, 3 Bedrooms, Just Pakistani Family’ with an attached mobile number.Officers tracked down the landlord, who removed the sign after accepting it was “inappropriate”.….Inspector Paul Goodall, of Lancashire Constabulary, confirmed the sign was investigated as a potential “racist incident”, but no crime had been committed.

Just like Agent S, the bBC ensure they go right up the bend in which to promote the view that only whites can be racist.

  10. Doublethinker says:

It is certainly true that large parts of England may as well be in ‘a far away country of which we know very little’, so much has mass immigration changed them.
But recent polls have shown that there is a growing resentment by the British at what has been done to their country without their consent ever being sought. I have heard several times on the BBC over the past few days that, ‘ you would expect that as the number of immigrants and different cultures increased , people would become more tolerant’. It just shows how out of touch the BBC is with what we really think. They make great play on the fact that people with degrees appreciate immigrants to a much greater extent than those without degrees. Basically, the BBC and the liberal left think that if you are educated , like them of course, then you have an open welcoming attitude to mass immigration , but if you are uneducated, you are full of unreasoning fear and hate etc etc. So we can expect even greater attempts to educate people so that we all think correctly. It gets more like 1984 with every passing month.
I hope that the more propaganda they pump out, the more lies they tell us about immigration, the more we will resist and wake up to what the Labour party did to our country and the crucial role the BBC played in it. Then I hope that people give them what they deserve.

Well, it won’t, and it isn’t.

Jeez, BBC Points West finds over two minutes in a 7 minute broadcast (inc weather) to give an over-sympathetic non topical report on a Syrian anti Assad asylum seeker.

Its not about the rights or wrongs of events in Syria, but why is it necessary for a local BBC production to give an overview on an international problem with the narrative ‘poor asylum seekers’. We’re told they only get £5 a day and are ‘just a number’ yet we see a charity hall full of them looking well fed and clothed as indeed was ‘poor’ Mohammed…. The charity rep pleads for more donations as they are being ‘squeezed’

What happened to the old adage ‘charity begins at home’ ? What about our old who can’t afford to heat their homes in winter? That’s a real charity case. Without a ready supply of ‘donations’ would the BBC keep broadcasting inconsequential pro immigration sh1t like this?
