THAT MANDELA MOMENT

Stop the world, but Mandela is ill, again, and BBC instantly go into full panic. I dread to think what their coverage will be like should this ancient communist loving terrorist commander pop his clogs.

well Chris lets hope it can make the main news page,
because the poor old DofE can t get on there at the minute.
I think the royal correspondent has tried, but he can t get through to BBC HQ at the moment, as they re all holding hands on the candlelit Mandela vigil.

will we get blubbering hysterics?, as they all try to “outgrieve” each other?

I think you are getting confused Christopher, Prince Philip was in the Royal Navy fighting Nazi’s so I thought that would make him an anti Nazi. (Of course he isn’t as Anti Nazi as you are, braving the blogosphere to tackle Nazism wherever you find it)

Prince Philip had to leave his private school in Germany because every time the other pupils and the teachers did the Nazi salute, Philip would laugh hysterically. Hardly the sign of a committed Nazi.

This is a truly disgraceful and ignorant comment about a war veteran and a man who has served this country for many decades and is still doing so into his 90s.
Luckily Prince Philip is not a convicted terrorist married to “necklace” wielding murderer of young boys and in direct contrast to the gentleman in South Africa.

15 minutes out of the first half-hour on BBC 5 Dead 7 p.m. ‘news’ was devoted to such insights as ‘South Africans are coming to terms with the fact that the ‘father of the nation’ won’t be around for ever’ and that ‘Madiba is 94 years old’. It takes £4,000,000,000 of our money to come up with ‘news’ like that.

94 year old not well…hardly news is it?
The man colluded with and visited Mrs Thatcher-that ought to leave the poor bloke out of any BBC tributes, I`d have thought?
And are the BBC pushing the services of Dignitas at the moment…those coffin chasers normally get a few minutes on the Today show, whenever someone needs to die for the BBC schedules, and they continue to bungee jump in and out of the coffin, as Mandy is doing!

BBC still telling us Mandela is ill in hospital/

    We KNEW that,

We’ve known it for days! – the BBC has had it as a main headline non-stop. It would be impossible not to know it already.

There has been no change announced in his condition – so WHERE IS THE NEWS ?

If we think this is OTT, wait until Gerry Adams reacts badly to his flu jab, or Martin McGuinness has a hip replacement op.
The BBC will demand ten minutes silence( as much as it wanted for Alistair Milne) and a vigil with a candle that the Dalia Lama once sat on, being used.

If Prince Philip needs no other reason to get up out of his sick bed, just to spite the BBC: I reckon he only ought to look at yesterdays morning news on the BBC about the “dear old Queen” being greeted by the likes of Spoony and Trevor Nelson, Huw and Fatty Patten.
Utterly unctuous and cringing bilge; as a sack of republican grease guns trailed about after here whooping and hollering, with mobiles to hand. After the way that the BBC covered her Jubilee last year, she must have had a pretty pungent nosegay under her nostrils to stomach the oily creeps “celebrating” Her Maj…as well as a considerable upgrade to inhabit Goebbels Domed Mausoleum, at our expense sine die.
Philip really ought to have done his Muslim “Head of T”Household” bit and banned the little woman from having to meet the Marxist jackals and smarm merchants alone. He knows all about the BBC, and his chilling piece with Fiona Bruce put the Beeboid in her wicca coffin once and for all.
Get up and out there Phil, me old son…the BBC are taking the piss as ever!

Oh the outrage! Nick Griffin has described Mandela as a ‘murdering old tyrant’. The thing is Griffin has to have his facts right or he’ll be back in court again, and even telling the truth is no defence, don’t people know that even reality is racist?

The comments and the highest rated tell another story however, and many go on to make the point of how Mandela and Zuma have destroyed the ‘African Powerhouse’ economy which once was South Africa. Zimbabwe here we come!

By the logic of the collection of nut-job keyboard warriors around here, Count von Stauffenberg and Rommel were both “terrorists” and “communists” because they broke the law of the land at the current time.
I suggest, after you’ve showered, you take a long look at your convictions and how you choose to express them. I don’t expect a positive response (or that you’ll leave your keyboards to shower)

One Rommel fought for the Nazi government not against his later anger at his leaders was brought about after they left his army to rot in the desert !
Stauffenberg was also a servant who broke with his Nazi bosses but not because he was trying to save the Jews or the oppressed he was out to save his own country and military not the millions being tortured and killed by his party !

By what stretch of a tortured post-colonial guilt-stricken imagination is Nelson Mandela “one of the worlds Great Statesmen” (sic)? A great figurehead, perhaps. An icon for the liberal Left, undoubtedly. A secular saint for the BBC, indeed. But a “Great Statesman” (caps noted)? Not in a month of Sundays.

And that nasty little smear about Nick Griffin is unworthy of even the trolls here. If Griffin correctly identified today as Monday, should we all chant ‘No it;s not! It’s Tuesday’ for being contaminated by agreement?

Mr Mandela will not live forever.

When he dies the world’s media will try to capture the reactions of people here and around the world, and, in retelling his extraordinary life story, try to do justice to the memory of the man.

I suspect we shall all fail to live up to the magnitude of the moment.

But we will try our best.
