WAIT. WHAT?
By Mishal Husain’s logic, Hamas’s terrorist activity in firing rockets into Israel, they were ‘stopping worse happening’.

Husain argues, live on air, that the rockets being fired into Israel are irrelevant due to the fact that they have killed only ’20 people since 2005′. Even though the real figure is likely more than double that, Husain ignores the fact that these terrorist attacks are not specifically just designed to kill, but also to maim, destroy property, and generally bring insecurity and terror to the lives of the people of Israel.
Note than Husain is using the recent Economist casualty figures that Donnison used to mislead us in regard to casualty figures on either side….comparing Israeli casualties caused by rockets against Palestinian ones caused by Israeli military action….which misses out all those Israelis killed by other means by Palestinians….over 1200 Israelis killed and 8000 injured in a decade….somewhat more than ’20’ that Husain peddles in order to mislead the viewer.

I commented on this Mishal Husain interview several days ago on this site. It is one of the most shocking examples of cynical bias I have ever seen on the BBC; in fact, the whole premise that attempted murder is nothing to worry about until it comes to fruition is simply outrageous. She has well and truly nailed her colours to the mast with this disgraceful performance.

I stand to be corrected, it may have been another BBC female Asian newsreader, but was she involved in a kerfuffle and accused someone of racism at an airport a year or so ago? It was making a mountian out of a molehill, as per usual, can someone enlighten me?
Radio 4 news 8am this morning covered the exhumation of Arafat and stated that for the Pallies ‘it is an unacknowledged fact’ that he was murdered by the Israelis, although it was added that if the Israeli’s had done it they would have been assisted by one of Arafet’s close circle. So why bother with an exhumation and scientific inquiry when you have unacknowledged facts?
I heard that. I thought the spirit of the comment was this was not a reasonable assumption. There was certainly no suggestion during the report that blaming Israel was a reasonable assumption
All the BBC coverage of the conflict so far has made me angry, but this has somehow made me even angrier; could the BBC and Mishal Husain sink any lower?
I already know the answer; yes, they could, and they will.
I no longer listen to any BBC interview on Israel. It is pointless. I have said it before. Israel should expel all BBC journalists . They will never change and are unrelentingly hostile to the existence of Israel however many ifs and buts they use in their proaganda for those who seek Israel’s destruction.
Be under no illusion. The destruction of Israel is the end game for all those concerned in this propaganda war.

Wow, I am almost lost for words – this is one of the worst biased pro-Palestinian “interviews” I’ve seen. Mishal Husain certainly nailed her colours to the mast there and if it doesn’t break the BBC charter of impartiality then I don’t know what does.

Until I caught up with this interview on this invaluable Blog, I always thought Hussain was very bland, a weekend newsreader with no personality, just sat there looking immaculate and expressionless reading her autocue. Now she has revealed herself as someone with no knowledge of what terrorism sets out to do. Also as a highly unpleasant person with no feeling for the victims of terrorism.
The rockets fired by Arabs from Gaza are fired to terrorise the Israeli population. It doesn’t matter how many die, the potential to die is always there, you don’t know where the rockets will land.
Immediately after the 7/7 London Tube bombings you couldn’t get a taxi for love or money, people were scared shitless of travelling on the tube. The act of terrorism had worked, people were terrified. As a person obviously with some Muslim connections, Hussain should be especially aware of what Muslims did to Britain on that day.
Like all other BBC interviewers when interviewing Israelis, she treated Hoffman with scorn and derision, no doubt egged on by her editor speaking into her ear microphone. I thought he was amazingly eloquent, calm and patient.
Horrible woman, I’ll switch off in future when she’s reading the news, I tend to watch Sky anyhow.

Husain gained her first experience of journalism at the age of 18, spending three months as a city reporter in Islamabad at Pakistan’s leading English-language newspaper The News. See her Indie article about a family holiday retracing the footsteps of her ten years of happy childhood in Dubai. Her account leaves you with the impression it’s still an idyllic place.
“Although Mishal’s home is now London, most of her extended family lives in Pakistan, and she and her brother grew up in Abu Dhabi where her doctor father moved for professional reasons. “I was born in England and we moved to the Emirates when I was two,” says Mishal. She considers herself lucky to have spent those years in the Middle East. “It made my links with Pakistan stronger, because of the geographical factor,” she says. Apart from the fact that it was so close to family in Pakistan, she recalls that Abu Dhabi was also a wonderful place to grow up in because “in those days it was a more international, less materialistic place.””

I have disliked Mishal Hussain from the first times I saw her on BBC World, several years ago. Smirking, supercilious, arrogant. And biased to the core.
