What Is The Purpose Of Life? Plastic, The Earth Needs Plastic

Now we’ve had a comedy programme showing us the softer side of  Muslims perhaps the BBC will do the same for climate change sceptics who get a rough Press.

Perhaps they could just show this.

Black & Co have a history of trying to discredit climate change sceptics…claiming they are in the pay of big business or influenced by rightwing news papers, that they are nazis, or were abused in their childhood and have a  lack of human empathy.

A quote from one of Black’s efforts to malign sceptics:

“I’ve been debating the science with them for years, but recently I realised we shouldn’t be talking about the science but about something unpleasant that happened in their childhood”.

Is this an orchestrated campaign?  You bet your ass it is.

‘BBC insiders say the close links between the Corporation and the UEA’s two climate science departments, the Climatic Research Unit (CRU) and the Tyndall Centre for Climate Research, have had a significant impact on its coverage.

‘Following their lead has meant the whole thrust and tone of BBC reporting has been that the science is settled, and that there is no need for debate,’ one journalist said. ‘If you disagree, you’re branded a loony.’

I noticed Harrabin the BBC’s ‘analyst’ when reporting on the Arctic ice just can’t contain himself.
Within a couple of sentences, he told us companies were intent on ‘profiting’ from the melting or ‘cashing in’ on it.
How much of his earnings are profit I wonder?

“Climate change is the new religion.”
That certainly is the case when you consider that over the centuries religion of one kind or another has been used to control the populous and gain power for the exponents.

Staunch support for free markets is a harbinger of insane conspiracy thinking, is it? Says more about the people who did the study than anything else. And to think David Gregory used to ridicule us when we expressed concern that the Warmist movement was driven by people with neo-Marxist dreams who wanted to use the threat of Global Warming to end the free market, capitalist system.

Science is never settled. It is open to discovery and change. Only religion is ” settled” – or so say the priests.
I am sick to death of the crap coming from the BBC about “Climate” but I have to pay them £145.50 on threat of prison. Seems that is “settled” too, well well.

They don’t give in, though, do they – this morning they were wittering on about carbon being released from the melting permafrost in Siberia (or wherever), and being converted in the sea to methane, and vast amounts of carbon, which is going to warm the globe! No balancing argument from anyone who may not agree with that supposition though, and the interviewee sounded rather like a foreign crackpot professor. When asked if it was all due to man, he cunningly suggested that man kicked it all off in the first place…

Of course Evan swallowed it (the story, I mean…)

But you are not addressing the reality that temperatures for whatever reason are rising. Not a good thing if you live on the coast. So discussing how we can at least ameliorate the rise makes a lot more sense than having a crackpot waste time pretending it isn’t happening. It is!

Which temperatures? As I understand it there has been no warming since 2000 (or even earlier), and even if there was, it is so infinitesimal as to be laughably unimportant, and not unexpected, and not dissimilar to the last 4.5 billion years of climate to-ing and fro-ing. What is at stake is this religious fanaticism amongst those who for some reason believe that the presence of humanity upon the earth is causing the climate to change catastrophically, and will result in our collective demise, unless we, well, stop living.

      Now that, I find, preposterous.

No warming since 1998, in fact. Plus they cherrypick the data to suit them, omitting the fall in temperatures over the 30-year period following WW2.

Do I vaguely remember Angela Merkel promising to cut the earth’s temperature by three degrees C only to be trumped by Mad Gordon McRuin promising to cut it by four degrees C.

Not a single one of the warmists *know* that AGW exists. I don’t know it doesn’t exist.

But I tell you what, I know a dirty stinking great big scam when I see it and the whole IPCC/ UEA/ Al Gore/ Monbiot/ BBC/ Guardian / EC love-in with AGW is a dirty stinking great big scam.

I know it and, guess what, so do they.

That’s the thing with the Alarmists, despite all their dire predictions being proved wrong by that old-fashioned thing called evidence, they continue to spout their ridiculous, discredited propaganda as though the real world doesn’t exist. I wouldn’t mind but most of the wild claims they continue to make are not substantiated by the IPPC reports, one of the prime examples being any kind of link between ‘extreme weather’ events and global warming.

Brainwashing in its purest form, but the sad thing is a large percentage of people still believe them. Why? Because thanks to the likes of the BBC, you never hear scientists giving the other point of view. Pure, unadulterated bias, and the reason this website exists.

          Respect, B-BBC!

Jah Your question implies that either mankind is responsible or alternately can do something about it.

At our present level of understanding we can do nothing about the sun, the tides, the tilt and orbit of the earth or output from volcanoes. King Canute ordering the sea comes to mind although, perhaps like the BBC, the monarch didn’t believe in the words passing his lips.

When King Canute is mentioned in connection with the BBC, the words of Edmund Clerihew Bentley spring to mind:

        King Canute
Was a secretive sort of brute:
        He’d never admit it, but
        His name was really Cnut.

‘Not a good thing if you live on the coast’? Why? countless studies – you know, the ones you choose to ignore, show sea levels have risen at a constant rate since the Little Ice Age.

And please explain the lack of warming for 15 years, because ‘your’ scientists certainly can’t (back to the drawing board with those models!)

And whilst I’m (still) waiting for a reply from your fellow Alarmist Earth Echo (I guess the clue is in the name), on the earlier ‘Third Rock From The Sun’ thread let me refer this extract to you for comment:

‘The earth has gradually been warming since the Little Ice Age and at a consistently steady rate, though with periodic variations – thus the 1930s was the hottest decade of the 20th century, yet for the 30 years following WW2 there was a cooling, despite rapidly increasing CO2 levels, which led scientists at the time to warn of another ice age (perhaps you are too young to remember this). Then a warming up until the late 90s, and now a flatlining. So please get your facts right.

I suspect you are just another eco-warmist, using the bogus science to advance your ecological agenda. So here’s a question: do you think Michael Mann has got it about right with his ‘hockey stick graph’? Just a yes or no’.

Temperatures are now falling, it always happens in September. The Global Warming in August was caused by Summer, this happens every year, and generates an increase in scare stories from the BBC . Also the sea rises because of the tides. If man in the form of JAH prays to the memory of King Canute at high tide, the tide will retreat.

‘The study, to be published in the journal Psychological Science, also found that those who reject the scientific consensus on the human contribution to climate change are more likely to to reject other scientific findings such as the linkage between tobacco and lung cancer or between HIV and Aids’.

The Alarmists are getting desperate. Their smearing of those who believe science is not governed by consensus gets more ridiculous by the day.

But then, as we all know, it’s bog-all to do with science and everything to do with eco-socialist totalitarianism, as many good books on the subject out there will tell you.

      I’ve said it before…

Green NGO’s and their propagandist CAGW supporters in science and government (step forward the UN and EU) all seem to mistake Orwell’s novel 1984 for an instruction manual.

Far be it for me to invoke Godwin’s Law, but we see all the familiar traits of bullying fascists in the way climate alarmists twist (or ignore) the truth and the facts – together with their outright fear of facing informed and erudite critics in public and their fondness for ad hominen attacks on all who may dissent from their Party Line.
