Mitt Romney and Lech Walesa Fail

In the open thread, I made a comment that Lech Walesa was now on the BBC’s sh!t list for having spoken positively of and essentially endorsing Mitt Romney. Since Romney is the enemy of the President, I just knew the BBC wasn’t going to look favorably upon the hero of Solidarity and Polish freedom from Soviet oppression.

No prizes for guessing if I was right.

Mitt Romney Poland Visit Stirs Solidarity

Why, what do you know: it’s a negative perspective.

The Republican candidate is due to lay a wreath on Tuesday, to mark the Nazi invasion of Poland in September 1939.

But trade union movement Solidarity has distanced itself from the visit.

Mr Romney has just travelled from Israel where comments he made about the Palestinian economy angered a senior Palestinian official.

Yep, there’s even more space spent on the Israel visit, spun negatively, so even less room (On the internet? There are no space limitations. -ed) to mention that Walesa might have kinda sorta endorsed Romney. In fact, as of this writing, only half the news brief was given over to Poland. Wasn’t there enough slamming of Romney in your other reports, BBC? (If News Sniffer or The Wayback Machine show that the story “evolved” later and they make the piece at even slightly more about the actual Poland visit, I’ll post an update.)

The only part of Walesa’s remarks the BBC will allow through the censors is this bit, which is at least positive:

“He’s very open, and brimming with values, his wife is always by his side, he’s got five kids — we’re very much alike, I really like him and am pleased we met,” Mr Walesa told reporters.

Curiously, the BBC chose that over this bit:

“I wish you to be successful, because this success is needed to the United States, of course, but to Europe and the rest of the world, too,” Walesa told Romney at the end of their meeting Monday. “Gov. Romney, get your success — be successful!”

I wonder what editorial thought process went into that choice? In the interests of balance, of course, this is immediately followed by harsh words from the BBC’s trade union friends in Poland:

But the trade union movement, which originated in Gdansk and toppled Poland’s communist regime in the late 1980s, said it had nothing to do with Mr Romney’s trip to the city.

“Regretfully, we were informed by our friends from the American headquarters of AFL-CIO (trade union in the US), which represents more than 12 million employees… that Mitt Romney supported attacks on trade unions and employees’ rights,” Solidarity said in a statement.

I guess this is the best the AFL-CIO can do these days since they pulled funding from the President’s campaign in order to focus on themselves. Anyways, Walesa is then dismissed.

Mr Walesa and Solidarity have not seen eye to eye for some years.

In other words, Walesa’s words are now to be taken with a large grain of salt, right, BBC? Negative, negative, negative. To judge by BBC reporting, in the last few days Romney has angered the entire planet and appeased only a few wealthy Jews. Can’t wait for the stop in Warsaw to see how awful things are next.

Champagne socialists despise people from working class backgrounds, anyway. Even Precott, who they pretend to admire, but patronise instead.

As for Walesa, he’s been filed under BNP thugs.

The BBC really have the knives out for Romney.

The 5.35am review of the newspapers this morning bizarrely included a New York Times report claiming that Romney had been racist in his Israel speech.

Now we have Naughtie at 6.50am repeating the ridiculous racism slur, and letting a Dem spokesman say that Romney’s entire trip so far has been a debacle.

Naughtie – “there is a lot of surprise that Romney has not been more surefooted”

Fortunately the Repub spokesman stressed that Romney trades in candour, that a lot of the criticism is hypocritical. But the whole thrust of Naughtie’s approach was critical of Romney.

NEVER would we hear from Naughtie et al that Obama has made a pigs ear of Middle East policy, that he has set out to deliberately undermine Israel, that he has on a whole succession of occasions belittled Britain,- and that he sold the Poles down the river in his “reset” policy with the Russians. Yes, those friendly Russians who block every move on Syria and are now planning to build a naval base in Cuba.

We can expect the final 100 days of the US election campaign to give us unremitting BBC bias against Romney and praise for Obama with omission of his many gaffes.

Making a meal of Romney’s remarks in Israel which went down well there compares starkly with the BBC’s failure to cover properly the ongoing storm over Obama;s “You didn’t build it” insult to small businessman, or his ludicrous claim “We tried our plan for the economy – and it worked”

Mardell brought that racism slur to the BBC yesterday. He even went so far as to suggest that it was really certain other factors which kept the Palestinians down, compounding Romney’s horrible faux pas, leaving everyone except his few supporters “aghast”. And now we see it spread across the spectrum of BBC broadcasting.

The alternative headline for that “Mitt Romney Poland Visit Stirs Solidarity” article (visible from the World, Europe and US & Canada pages) is even more negative:

    “Romney visit irks Polish unions”

    As John says, unremitting.

Was there any reaction from other areas of Polish society? Or is Solidarity all that matters?

The only thing the average Beeboid knows about Poland is that’s where the hired help and plumbers come from.

There was a time when Beeboids politically admired Lech Walesa; but Beeboids now give their political priority to campaigning for mass immigration into Europe and UK, for ‘multiculturalism’, and for Islamisation.

It seems to me Mitt Romney has already started the process of debunking the “Religion of Peace” and “Political Correctness”. To me this is a huge breath of fresh air that will in the long run only bring about a better understanding of the nonsense that has slowly been pervading our media and society in the west for the last 50 years.

Truth is the first casualty in war and it certainly went down the pan when we started appeasing the enemies in our midst following 9/11 and 7/7. Until truth returns there will never be peace and if it takes a plain speaking Yank who refuses to see things through crazy anti-business rose tinted socialist goggles then great, terrific and about bloody time.

Even better I notice our resident trolls on the previous thread seem particularly incensed.

So, there is hope for my grandchildren in my dotage, albeit they will have to be de-programmed and taught that the world will still spin even if mum does take them to school in a 4 x 4. They may even learn that there were free hospitals before 1948 (one saved my life in 1945) but my publicity machine might be a little under-funded on that one, eh Danny?

And always remember children: – It Started in America!

AND ! Mitt Romney has just announced that he will stop all tax credits to wind generators ! Let them stand or fall (!) on their own financial figures.

Compare that to the utter bilge the Today programme lets Ed Davey the Melon get away with when talking about “sustainable energy”.

Populating Britain’s beautiful countryside with utterly uneconomic and ugly wind farms is as bad as William Blake’s dark satanic mills. Danny Boyle gave the bucolic vision of the old countryside – we still have the countryside but it is being despoiled by successive Governmenrts.

Mitt Romney has the guts to call a halt. Unlike the wimps we have here.

Poland has fifty years experience of living under totalitarian Socialism, the system of choice of the bBC. The only issue the bBC have with Obama is that he is taking too long to get there. Romney is an obstacle to be brushed aside, to speed up the process.

So basically the BBC have turned ‘Polish trade unions dislike Republican presidential candidate because of his policies’ into a news story!

What next? ‘The pope is catholic’? ‘Bear sh**s in wood?’

I expect they will find some racism in it somewhere ?

Reminder: a few months ago the White House planned to give a medal to the last Polish Holocaust survivor, The man was too old and sick to travel, so the Poles suggested that Lech Walesa pick it up on his behalf. Obama himself vetoed the suggestion.
Now why would he do that?

Another anti-Romney report from Mark Mardell on the Today programme this morning. Playing up the “gaffe” of strident left-wing reporters being forcefully told off for shouting “gaffe” questions at Romney at Poland’s Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The gist of Mardell’s report stays the same – Romney’s tour has been a disaster, just a succession of gaffes.

Well Mr Mardell – don’t you think the many Poles in Britain, as well as Americans working here, would like to hear what Romney actually said to the Poles ? Isn’t THAT the real news, not your Obama-talking-points ? Romney portrayed the success of the Polish economy in staying clear of the general mess in Europe as being due to policies based on smaller Government, spending, free enterprise,, avoiding debt.

Of course that is an anti-Obama, and anti-Labour message. So THAT is why Mardell and the leftie media keep trying to avoid the real issues for the US election.

Mardell did exactly the same on the Israel segment of Romney’s trip – focus on the absurd Palestinian charge of racist offence – play down the central message that Israel is a vibrant capitalist democracy based on cultural factors that help economic progress.

I hope the Romney campaign is taking note of Mardell’s acutely biased reports. The Romney campaign seems to be taking a robust line towards leftie journalists. I would not be surprised to see Mardell frozen out most of the time – he is a nonentity – and if he does get an interview Romney will take a calculated swipe at him. No more Mr Nice Guy – slap the biased idiot down.

Check out the 3rd video clip here – leftie reporters shouting at Romney.

The reporters involved have been identified as WaPo, NYT and Politico. And Mardell and the Today programme call TeamRomney’s response to this disgraceful behaviour “news”, a “gaffe” ???

    “Islam’s Universal Economic Failure”

    by Daniel Greenfield.

    [Excerpt]:-

“In Britain the myth of the hardworking Bangladeshi or Pakistani storekeeper is practically sacred. In reality 70 percent of Bangladeshis and Pakistanis live in low income households, compared to 50 percent of Africans, 30 percent of Indians and 20 percent of the natives. Bangladeshis and Pakistanis not only have dramatically higher unemployment rates than natives, but they have higher unemployment rates than Africans.
“If the issue were racism, then their unemployment rates would be in line with far lower Indian unemployment rates. Instead Muslims have the worst economic record in the UK. Pakistani Muslims in the UK are three times more likely to be unemployed than Hindus. Indian Muslims are twice as likely to be unemployed as Indian Hindus.”
