ANOTHER GAY DAY…

At a time of potential economic meltdown, you might think the BBC had other issues to devote itself to but gay marriage is so important to the BBC that it is rarely far from the headlines. Today sees the Church of England warn that Government proposals for gay marriage would dilute an institution “vastly” important to a healthy society.

Responding to a consultation on the issue in England and Wales, the Church said the legislation was “shallow”.

Well, the BBC was not going to take that one lying down, so to speak. I caught some COE cleric being given the Spanish Inquisition on BBC TV News this morning by Bill Turnbull. Bill’s ever so clever question was to demand to know where it says in the Bible that gay weddings should not be performed in Church.  The answer, as he well knew, is that does not make any reference to gay weddings since in Christian terms the concept is oxymoronic. To the BBC it is matter of faith that the State shall compel the Church to accept things which go directly against its teachings. This totalitarianism is dressed up in the clothes of equality and advanced vigorously at every opportunity by the State broadcaster.  This is all part of the danger BBC bias represents, it actually undermines vast chunks of the stuff that hold our society together.

NHS HOPELESS, CAMERON TO BLAME

Circles within circles.

First up, the “news” that Public satisfaction with the NHS has dropped by a record amount, the British Social Attitudes Survey suggests.

The poll indicates satisfaction fell from 70% to 58% last year – the largest annual drop since it started in 1983.

And who sponsored this poll? Yes…

The King’s Fund think-tank sponsored the NHS questions put to more than 1,000 people and said their answers appeared to be a comment on reforms and spending squeezes and not care quality.

The King’s Fund being a raving agitprop lefty pressure group much favoured by the BBC.

Next up, Labour weigh on the back of this, claiming it is all Cameron’s fault that parts of the NHS are poor at providing a decent service. I watched the pouting Susannah Reid leading the charge on BBC this morning….parroting Labour talking points.

The King’s Fund, Labour, the NHS and the BBC…ALL linked and all doing a job in further undermining this government and bringing about the return of the Government that almost bankrupted the United Kingdom.

NEWS PRIORITIES

BBC news priorities…a reader observes;

“The Camerons leaving their child at the pub for all of 15 minutes, which took place over 2 months ago, is considered the 5th most important headline on the BBC today. And never missing the chance to have a swipe;

”Communities Secretary Eric Pickles – who is promoting a scheme to give English councils a financial incentive to deal with so-called “troubled families” – was asked on BBC Radio 5 live if he drew parallels between troubled families and parents who inadvertently left their children in a pub.”

So the Camerons, who were out for lunch, are no different to parents who go on 12 hour binges and load their kids up on Blackcurrant fruit shoot.”

The BBC relished this one.

HIDEOUSLY WHITE…

A Biased BBC reader remarks on the all too obvious multicultural engineering that is going on in Newsround – the BBC children’s programme.

“I only noticed it because my kids watch it, but if you would care to google image “newsround presenters” you will see that the ratio of Black and Ethnics Minorities presenters to white presenters is just about the opposite of what the ratio is in the country as a whole, ie overwhelmingly BEM presenters. This is no coincidence I am sure but an attempt to push the multicultural agenda onto a generation of young minds.”

I was on a BBC pilot programme the other week, it’s for the news series of Sunday Morning Live. At one point, the presenter alleged that multiculturalism was surely a good thing. I out her straight on that, to her evident chagrin. The prevailing wisdom at the BBC is that multiculturalism is a good thing and only bad fascists oppose this concept. As the Biased BBC reader points out, the BBC can use their power to instil this into young minds, as the Newround instance clearly demonstrates. Still, better than being “hideously white”…right?

COMPARE AND CONTRAST..

Was entertained by this and all on the same BBC web page today..

An additional £10m ($15m) will be provided by the UK for countries in West Africa facing the threat of drought, the government has announced.

And…

The Department for International Development (DfID) said action was needed before the rainy season made large areas of West Africa inaccessible for aid workers in as little as four weeks’ time.

Hap tip to Biased BBC reader Gary.

‘ELLO ‘ELLO ‘ELLO…

Biased BBC contributor Alan observes “Not much choice on the radio today…either the resurrection of the KKK in Poland and the Ukraine or the appalling possibility of Tom Winsor heading the HMIC.

The BBC manage to find the completely independent Police Federation to talk about Tom Winsor’s merits but I never heard any description of exactly what responsibities the HMIC actually has….and what effect it has on the work of frontline police officers…..so I had a look at Inspector Gadget for the real dirt.

Here is the BBC getting the Federation’s take……

‘Paul McKeever, chairman of the Police Federation, which represents rank-and-file officers, told Today the organisation was “very surprised that the home secretary has chosen somebody who has so little experience of policing”.  He said: “When you look across the police service there are so many people with real experience and real understanding – a profound understanding – of policing, we don’t know why the government has chosen a commercial lawyer.”

The Police Superintendents’ Association of England and Wales commented that the role had previously always been “fulfilled by an individual with a strong and credible record of achievement within policing and knowledge and understanding of the wider criminal justice system”.’

So just how much good does all that ‘experience’ do for the police officer on the beat?

And here is Inspector gadget’s few words on the subject…..

‘With regards to HMIC; As you would expect (and probably the reason you are here at this Blog) I have a rather different view. Many people are throwing their hands in the air in a giant Mexican wave at the thought of Winsor being HMIC. Personally, I know that HMIC has been behind every silly piece of policing nonsense over the last two decades.
From the odious ‘Detection culture’ via ‘Public Confidence’ and ‘Citizen Focus’ to an obsession with targets, and then an obsession with cutting targets. In Ruralshire, we actually have a target for the number of targets we must cut.
Police officers in this country no longer know what their mission is as we swing from one knee-jerk reaction to another, trying to appease the media or bend to whatever single-issue agenda shouts loudest. HMIC could have sorted this out but instead they have made it worse.

HMIC consists of police officers on attachment who spend their time criticising operational officers for not doing things they didn’t do themselves when they were operational. Most of them are desperate for promotion and working for HMIC is a great way to pad the portfolio.

So for me, in light of the appalling lack of backbone and disloyalty shown by HMIC and ACPO over that last two decades, it doesn’t matter who has the job. Winsor probably won’t expect us to walk around a housing estate with a megaphone shouting at people to close their windows. He probably won’t expect me to celebrate Gypsy Culture Week or apologise for slavery either.’

To me that sounds like he thinks the HMIC is a complete waste of time and utterly hopeless at providing direction to the police service. I could be wrong but I don’t think so.
