The BBC narrative is clear. Bankers were solely responsible for the global financial crisis. Go a little deeper and the narrative refines itself even more alarmingly; Capitalism was solely responsible for the global financial crisis. If only the State could control things. Next, seize on every opportunity to nail this in the public psyche. Take this current onslaught against RBS Chairman Stephen Hester. His crime has been to abide by his contract – a contract put in place under the gaze of a Labour Government. Now, the BBC allows Labour spokesman Chuka Umunna to rage against the sheer iniquity of what HIS party facilitated in the first place! 1. Didn`t Brown force Lloyds and RSB to be shacked up together for some reason?…
2. Didn`t Brown and Darling come up with the financial arrangements/contracts before the likes of Hester got their jobs?
If both of the above are true in some way-how the hell does an Umunna or a Miliband dare to presume any right to give us advice about what ought to be done…because they have crapped all over the house, and now blame the cleaners for the stink!
And no amount of trying to get Ed fit for purpose on Womans Hour will ever redress it…I am sick of these LaborLiars blaming the wall for the carcrash of an economy that they left burning in the rubble back in 2010.
Labor caused every bit of this-and only the suicidal pervs at the Beeb would get some thrill over pawing at the victims, and wanting another chance to suck the stumps!
The BBC even with 7,000 journalists and writers is incapable of putting on a nightly schedule of watchable programmes, decoy blockbusters aside.
Channel 4 has much more of interest on a vastly smaller budget. And they don’t ban American series and programmes.
Is the BBC’s fsilure anything to do with the £900 million of licence fee money just allocated by the BBC Trust to its staff pension scheme to meet its liabilities, instead of being used to make programmes?
Mark Thompson’s immediately payable pension will simply add substantially to that scheme’s deficit. Why allow him to quit at age 54 with a whopper pay-off and pension as big as an RBS bank chairman’s when everyone else has to work until age 60?
