SANTA MAYBE….

Easing my way back into this post-Christmas blogging and I am sure you will have read about the horrific mass murder in Texas carried out by a “gunman who shot dead six relatives before killing himself at a family Christmas celebration in Texas was dressed as Santa Claus.” The curious thing is that the killer was also a devout Muslim and it looks like it was an honour killing with extras. Naturally the BBC choses not to update the story with this detail – after all it’s not relevant…right?

Domestic violence and an estranged husband murdering family members is certainly not an exclusively Muslim phenomenon. Not even remotely. But the fact that every single news outlet that came up on a basic internet search censored the names made me suspicious.

Then I found this from a local paper:

Friends, neighbors and media reports identified the dead as Yazdanpanah; his estranged wife, Fatemeh Rahmati, who left her husband this year; their children, Nona, 19, and Ali, 15; Fatemeh Rahmati’s sister, Zohreh Rahmaty, 58; her husband, Hossein Zarei, 59; and their daughter, Sahra Zarei, 22.

ABC News also got the names once the local coroner’s office came back to the office after the holiday. But that didn’t show up until I did a search for the name.

I suppose the murderer could be a Zoroastrian, although I doubt any people of Iranian descent who name their kids “Ali” are anything other than Mohammedan.

One presumes the BBC will see this story as more useful to the “Stupid violent Americans and their stupid gunz” (with bonus points for Rick Perry’s Texas) Narrative, and so won’t be rushing to update the story with the names and background. Although, apparently at least one of the guns was bought 15 years ago, which means he didn’t go out last week and buy it in anger. Another blow to the anti-gun Narrative.

Having said all that, I guess the fact that the murderer dressed up as Santa Claus to do his bit of ultra-violence shows that Muslim assimilation in the US is better than the BBC claims.

importnat note: Santa is not exclusively Christian (although I know historically he was a bishop or something and then St Nicholas) and appears all over the Middle East. I was in Jordan just before Christmas and the malls have a Santa display and the children all want their photo with him etc etc, in one I was probably among the 1% or less non Jordanian there (admittedly soem could have been Christain) so it certainly isn’t for the expats/tourists/ whatever. Same in USAE although ther ethe percent Western is far higher.

Fatima was the daughter of the Mohammed. Topping yourself is not a usual feature of honour killings although killing your children is perfectly legal under at least one school of shariah law.

Probably easier just to assume that no murder or pointless rampage will be reported faithfully by the BBC unless the assailants are white with names we can recognise as Anglo-Saxon.
Presumably those key words like Muslim, terrorist, gangland or previous convictions just don`t get through the new Lord Chamberlains edits( he`d not be known as such of course…we assume roles with none of that constitutional flummery these days , you guys!).
Let the BBC self-censor all that they like in their Teletubbie world…but if we don`t get the truth, we shall find other outlets…and the BBC is already at the out door and ready to be pushed out as surplus to our needs.
Sites like this actually save lives-better to know you`re not alone that to go loopy a la Breivik!
