Newsnight's Paul Mason puts the case for rioting

Fascinating insight into the BBC’s Paul Mason here.

“In what will doubtless be seen as further evidence of a Left-wing agenda at the BBC, Paul Mason, the economics editor of Newsnight, posits the case in a new book that the summer riots were part of a “global revolution”.

The publishing house Verso gives a taste of the line that Mason takes inWhy It’s Kicking Off Everywhere: The New Global Revolutions in its latest catalogue.
Beneath a picture of the 144-year-old furniture store House of Reeves ablaze in Croydon during the riots in August, Mason is quoted as saying: “What has started with students in Millbank now erupts across the poverty-stricken streets of London: the network defeats the hierarchy; the political elite flounders, bereft of explanations.”

The bit that makes me wonder is here did Mason gain his credentials to talk about economics? As far as I can see he is qualified as a music teacher.

    ‘The Strike.’

Is Comrade MASON polishing his polemic for  BBC-NUJ-Guardian-Labour-Marx ‘NEWSNIGHT’ thus?:

‘It may not be 1789, but embedded as I have been today in the massive political demonstration against the capitalist state, which, let’s face it Mr Cameron, that’s what it is – the political atmosphere had the whiff of Paris 1968 about it.

‘Perhaps what impressed me most today was the number of wonderful young people of all ethnic backgrounds, young people who have cut their political teeth in the recent  activity of the ‘greenies’ in closing down power stations, and the ‘UKUncut’ young people who closed down capitalist businesses in London and beyond, and not forgetting the important formative political trailblazing of the so-called ‘rioters’ of earlier this year…’

Ours not to ever question how or why the likes of Mason end up whereever the BBC choose to place their cultural masseurs.
Hence the idea of history being fuddy duddy and irrelevant.
“We are where we are”…Mason is in situ and who are we to question his credentials?
This goes for all of the Beeb stuffers…the % of them trusted and qualified to speak as they do won`t even be 1:5 I`m sure.
Watching Paxman doing his panto dame impression with Osbornes statement on telly last night only shows how current affairs is now high camp floss!

Actually, there’s no better pin up for the toxic mix of entitlement and post-hippy Marxism motivating the Occutards than an elderly adolescent ranting about smashing the system, maaaan, while coining it in working for a multi-billion pound corporation funded by coericion.

That this person, with an evitently less than obscure belief system, is the Ecomonics editor of the national broadcaster’s premier news magazine, seems inexplicable.

Then again, Jeremy Bowen is the chosen one for objective coverage of the situation in the Middle East.

Ever feel one is being taken for a ride?

Mr Mason needs to do some research into psychological effects. Derren Brown did an excellent series recently on Channel 4 involving psychological experiments. One of them was on the subject of “Deindividuation” – the process whereby those in a group are easily persuaded to go against their individual moral standards.

The riots happened because enough people at once decided to act like thugs. It caught on because of deindividuation. It was nothing to do with “the poverty stricken rebelling against the elite”. It was people being arseholes.

If ‘Humbert’ Mason had ’embedded’ himself with the ‘political trailblazers’ in Croydon High Street, one afternoon last August, he would have got his dumb white head filled in. A necessary corrective, I would say.

Mason hasn’t the first idea who the poor are or what they think. He’s a screwed up middle class prick. The poor are too decent and honest to thieve – that’s why they are poor. They buy a lottery ticket because chance is the only way they might become rich, not thieving. I didn’t see too many frozen pensioners among the rioters, nor single parent mums with brood in tow.
He lives in a Marxist fantasy of Students and Workers rising up. Paints it on top of what is really there, and that we all can see while he can’t.
Why is is this middle class self-appointed vanguard of the proletariat Comrade Mason employed at all? Let him go and become poor, and earn the right to carry that stupid placard. If he wants to report Pension Robbery, go down the local nick and report one Gordon Brown.

You dont have to be qualified to get senior postions in the BBC, you do have to have left wing credentials and you have to be on message and you have to be picked out for both traits by those in positions to advance these hand picked candidates. The quango empire works on the same principles as does common purpose, they have managed to arrive at a hermetically sealed off employment system where only the correct applicants ever the jobs.

It has produced a peculiar breed of person already, not quite human and a vacuum for a moral centre.

Seeing as how the Ecnnomics Editor of Newsnight is a dyed-in-the-wool neo-Marxist, and the Political Editor is a Guardianista and biographer of a pair of Socialists, it doesn’t matter if one suspects that Paxman is secretly a “hang-’em-and-flog-’em” conservative.  The show is obviously compromised, and there can be no pretending of balance or chance for impartiality.

I didn’t need a photo of Paul Mason to tell me where his politics were. Remember Katty Kay romantically describing the “twinkling” lights during the Occupy New York demos? Well, here we go again: would a truly objective reporter – rather than an advocate – use “freezing” dawn and “quietly fuming”? (see below) Once again it’s the little words that give people away:

“As in Greece, in that circumstance, for every protester camped in the freezing dawn there may be many more quietly fuming in their living rooms who feel the same way.
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-15326636

It obvious he is on their side. He is the one “quietly fuming”.

All you need to know is that he “works for” the BBC.  All BBC employees, to the best of my knowledge, have the same narrow, bigoted set of immature opinions.

Are Beeboids all leftists? Not quite. The important ones are, that’s why they’re promoted. But independent and politically right-wing folk who slip in the employment process and exist lower down the food chain make a painful decision quite early in their careers: buckle down, keep quiet, collect the mortgage – or leave. They leave. It’s a self–selecting process. Are they cowards? No. Just realists. The thing is too big to change from within.

Mason is a professional northerner, so doubtless seen as the heir to Maxton or Jimmy Reid…they were too far north, but “so working clarss”.
Never see these Beeboids redistributing their own wealth amongst the plucky proletariat…like the pigs in Animal Farm, they deem their privileges to be well-earned, and the flat cap saps are delighted at their honeyed words of exhortation and eloquence!
That they get to meet kindred spirits of lotus eaters in Umbria or Naxos on their working holidays at our expense only foments the necesary international solidarity and goodwill needed. We ungrateful reactionaries really ought to rejoice at that news.

Mason like all leftwingers can only conceive of a “revolutionary ” movement as coming from the left.
This colours even their view of the so called Arab Spring which I am sure they believe to be really in this tradition.
What they cannot understand is that this country in particular is different. It is conservative in a way he simply cannot understand and always has been.
Very soon we will tire of the misgovernment and chaos and will into power those men and women who are needed to put things right.
Mason and his like are not going to like it at all and to be frank neither will many of us. But it will be the reality and long overdue.
Playground revolutionaries and politicians should beware. Their day is nearly done.

Having just watched bits of Newsnight, I would like Lords Skidelsky and Desai to be taken into consideration.
Presumably these boffoons have been doodling in the engine room down below. Now that the ship is DEFINITELY heading for the rocks, the BBC feel safe in producing these poltroons to show the rest of us just what calibre of oaf we`ve been allowing to stoke the fires.
These “peoples peers” are clearly low-grade useless windsocks/perforated condoms who have wallowed in the Lords and allowed the MPs to do as they like since `97.
These two summed up so much about what brain rot has done to Further Education….hence the likes of Mason getting degrees!
Desai reminded me of a thick, amoral and disingenuous Don King!

Desai, a complete Labour lackey. Writes books about film stars when not examining dodgy PhDs.  Why couldn’t India or the Americans keep him? As for Mason, you are failing to recognise Renaissance Man! From whatever it was he studied for a first degree, to post-grad music resdearch and music teaching, composing, musical theatre producing, to newspaper writing, to publishing, to business and e-business editing and magazine starting, to the starry heights of Business Editor of Newsnight and finally the even more dizzying peak of Economics Editor of the same. Phew! What a Talent, as Beeboids like to call themselves.
