NOT ON THE BBC

The wisdom of Occupy Wall Street protesters, via the Howard Stern show:

Comparing and contrasting this to how Britain’s biggest broadcaster has covered the 0.0000028% of the population currently showing their backsides in London, I’d have to say that when it comes to practicisng actual journalism Stern>BBC. Must be the unique way they’re funded…

I really laughed listening to this. But seriously, if our education systems have churned out people like this, then it is going to take decades to repair our countries. Assuming anyone wants to. The last guy trying to say the word ‘specific’ is hilarious, maybe he could do stand-up comedy and earn some money.

Out of interest has there been any mockery of the Occupy protests on the BBC? The Tea Party was often treated with derision by the BBC, and not just by its lefty comedy mafia. Snide comments and mocking tones infected the reports of supposedly impartial journalists, too. In contrast one senses that the Occupy movement is being protected from ridicule lest it have the same affect as Kryptonite on Superman.

Yes, what do we get from  that large number of politically like-minded ‘leftist’ comedians on BBC-NUJ?: zilch.

      • D B says:

Mocking the Tea Party became the fashionable position on BBC programmes. I would be interested if anyone has heard any examples – casual asides on discussion shows like Start The Week, that sort of thing – regarding Occupy.

(Correction to above – meant “the same effect as Kryptonite…” For shame.)

I think they’re probably corn nuts, Llew. The lady in question is comedian Kelley Lynn and judging by her most recent blog she has a penchant for these very noisy snacks. She also runs a Twitter feed taking the piss out of imbecilic celebrity tweets and has a touching blog dedicated to her recently deceased husband. Kathy Shaidle has more.

Several days in and I’m none the wiser as to what it is these protestors actually want (other than some soap).  I’ve been told by the BBC what they’re against: bank bailouts and big corporations, whatever that really means.  But what’s their alternative answer?  Has anyone at the BBC actually asked them?  If they have, I haven’t heard it.

    • DJ says:

The BBC already knows what they want and they also know that if these toltalitarian loons ever got the chance to let the public know what they really want, it would undercut for ever the narrative that these people are simply goofy idealists.

Originally they wanted the many provable cases of fraud and other high crimes which have undoubtedly been committed by the biggest banks to be investigated properly leading to arrests, charges filed and cases coming before the courts.  They wanted to see the FED audited and/or shut down and the issuance of currency, interest free, given back to Congress as the constitution demands.  They wanted an end to the endless bailouts of Wall street when Main street has been left to rot. They wanted a fair chance to compete and run businesses in an open marketplace and an end to the revolving door between the Wall Street corporations and Washington DC.

All fair and reasonable demands in my view.

Sadly we have seen a massive influx of left  wing loons which have completely drowned out that message.

Matt Danzico is concerned that the Occupy Wall Street message is being diluted. You won’t be surprised to learn that nobody in Danzico’s film expresses any opposition to the OWS movement, just varying opinions on its prospects for success.

The age composition of these gatherings is interesting.

Very few oldsters, who one might imagine may be a bit miffed having spent their entire lives paying in, only to be rooked by the banksters with government oversight.

Vs. a lot of iWeenies, who seem to be very ‘angry’, mainly because, having paid thus far zippy into anything, they are facing not getting a handout as antcipated.
