BBC Censorship: Katty Kay’s Nice Anti-Semite Edition

Yes, I know, Katty was talking about the Occupiers in New York, but her report was meant to give you the idea that they’re all mostly nice, civic-minded, and righteous. Mark Mardell is still convinced that the Tea Party movement is driven by crypto-racism. So by his logic, we can use the following to state unequivocally that the Occupier movement is driven by anti-Semitism. Check it out, and wake me up when the same BBC which spent two years telling you we’re all racists because we opposed Socialist policies report this:

How about it, BBC? Any thoughts? If you tell me this is an outlier and not worthy of smearing an entire movement, then the majority of BBC reporting on the Tea Party is discredited. An amusing report on the LA scene can be found here. Note that the majority of the crowd is hideously white. But that doesn’t imply anything about their motives, right, BBC?

And this kind of anti-Jew sentiment was on display in New York as well. Curiously, Katty Kay and Laura Trevalyan failed to spot it. Or did they?

This is unrepresentative of the whole Occupy Wall Street movement. Just like the numerous acts of Islamic Terrorism are unrepresentative of the religion of Islam. But not like the odd racist in the Tea Party, which is bang on how all of them are. Even if they’re not acting, or doing anything that could otherwise constitute racism. They are racist. You can see it in their eyes. I know. You can trust me. I work for the BBC. I’m Mark Mardell. Back to you in the studio, Sophie.

The All Seeing Eye’s warning, “Don’t watch with sharp objects nearby”, could just as well apply to some of the videos in your  links, David. It might be interesting to email them to Laura, Katty and Fatty, so they’ve no excuse.

Naomi Colvin of the Occupy the London Stock Exchange Movement is a happy girl:

auerfeld Naomi Colvin I know I complain about the BBC a lot, but they are giving #OccupyLSX coverage across *all* their main current affairs strands. #respect

That twitter ‘campaign’ last week when ‘the bridge too far protest’
bombed due to lack of interest, appears to have worked.

At least the BBC ‘speaks’ for the UK public… well, the iPhone-toting, twitter-manipulating corner.

OK I take back what I previously said about OWS. I have heard from my friends in the USA who have sadly left the protest.  Just as the Tea Party originally started as a movement who supported Ron Paul and who opposed corporatism (Marxist Fascism) but who where taken over and co-opted by the republicans.  the OWS genuinely started as a neutral, non-left non right anti corporatist movement, it has now been taken over and co-opted by the left wing unions, anti-capitalist protest groups, eco-mentalist protest groups and the left wing media.  Pro capitalist, pro small business, pro small-government voices are ignored now.

The elite are taking over these “grass roots” movements and merging them into the protest wings of the establishment left and right.

    It’s quite sad really.

Except you won’t see Mark Mardell or any other Beeboid stating that the Occupiers are controlled by othe groups.

Oh, and the Tea Party movement definitely did not start out as supporting Ron Paul.  It was started as an anti-tax movement about a month before Santelli’s rant which gave it the Tea Party name.  The first Tea Party gathering I attended – a couple months after it all started – had nothing whatsoever to do with Ron Paul.  His name didn’t come up once, not even from someone in the crowd. There was nobody shouting “End the Fed” or anything of the sort.  It was about ObamaCare and excessive taxes on business.  It was organized by a couple of young local Republicans, but at the time they weren’t associated with any actual Republican group or official party chapter.  No politicians, no actual organization involved other than the non-demoninational Tea Party group these two guys had formed themselves.

Only later did Ron Paul groupies show up as their own contingent.  Months later, at a larger Tea Party event I attended, they did not run the show, had nothing to do with event agenda at all.  The emcee was a local black Republican activist and radio host. Ron Paul was not mentioned once during the proceedings (I was there from start to finish), and in fact Newt Gingrich made an appearance.  He was warmly welcomed by the organizers and a small group of the crowd, but most people didn’t like him too much.  I assume this tells you that the Republicans co-opted the movement, but again, this was all done locally.  This was, though, about the time when politicians and Republican celebrities started jumping on the bandwagon.  That’s not the same thing as running the show, though.

What’s the difference between the Tea Party and OWS?  One is a bunch of nasty, bigoted racists and the other is the Tea Party.
