"I LOVE HIM!"

Hat-tip to John Horne Tooke in the comments for pointing us to the Twitter account of BBC journalist Jude Machin:

“Obamama”? Urrgh *shiver*.

OK, so she’s assigned to the 2012 Olympics and isn’t covering US politics (and quite clearly can’t be allowed to do so – right, Ms Boaden?) However, isn’t it interesting that every time a BBC hack expresses a political opinion on Twitter it always seems to come from one direction? Imagine a BBC journalist declaring his or her support for a Republican candidate on Twitter. It would mark them out as a freak. Career suicide. But announcing one’s love for Obama? Hey, no big deal, everyone at work’s cool with that.

The same sort of thing didn’t do Anita Anand’s career any harm, did it?

I have no idea who Jude Machin is. I am sure she is perfectly lovely, a wonderful mum and an inspiration to all those know her.

She may be a superb journalist; a fearless exponent of even-handed, disinterested reporting; and, as a proud employee of the BBC, impartiality may well be stamped all over like a tattoo on an Essex girl’s arse.

But she is evidently extremely dim-witted: the BBC is criticised relentlessly  by people from all over the political spectrum and it is perfectly obvious to anyone with half a brain that if you publicly profess your love – or contempt – for a controversial political figure, you are going to get a kicking from some quarters.

It is not good enough simply to be impartial – you have to be seen to be impartial. It’s really not that difficult a concept to comprehend.

I know media types have enormous egos and think that, for instance, taking the car in for an MOT is worthy of a public proclamation on Twitter but they should learn to temper their enthusiasm for self-promotion. Ultimately, no one outside their bubble really cares.

I wouldn’t want to single out Jude – she is an easy target – but it seems that half of the BBC seem not to realise that Facebook and Twitter are public fora.

    • Millie Tant says:

I wouldn’t want to single her out, seeing that numerous Beeboids seem to feel that they can write what they like on Twitter or blogs and no restraint is necessary.

Why should she be considered dim witted when she and we can see the political cheerleading Anita Anand continuing unhindered to present a political programme for the Beeboid Corporation?

I’m not sure who are the bigger mugs – the Beeboids in charge of the minions, the Beeboid Trust that allegedly represents the paying public, the regulators of Broadcasting standards, including the Government in charge of all, or the public who put up with the lot of them.

As the element of choice is withheld from the public on whether to pay or not, and mechanisms for protest are limited (I doubt my MP will see his passive support for the BBC as a vote swinger), it’s hard to place any person feeling oppressed by this situation as a mug.

But every blatant instance such as the above, the Israeli dog report or Byfordesque pension payout (with the airwaves alive today with middle aged teachers whingeing about how they are ‘going to have to’ adjust cosy lifestyles unless the private sector works until they are 80 to keep ’em on their public sector bubble) constitutes a mugging.

      • Millie Tant says:

I certainly feel oppressed through not having freedom whether to pay for the Beeboid Corporation and its propaganda or not, and may or may not be a mug for paying it but most people don’t feel the same as I do about the Beeboid Corporation –  rather, they like and support it, considering it a quality broadcaster and reliable source of news and entertainment. I’m not sure what the polls say about value for money – I wouldn’t be surprised if they also think it is good value.  How many would subscribe and would view it in the same positive light if they had the freedom to choose which television and broadcaster to pay for is another question.

Twitter has brought the political leanings of the BBC people to the attention of everyone. They seem to think that putting a caveat in their profile like “these are my views and not the BBCs” excuses them for their bias.

Can these people be balanced in their reporting when they have such a passion for socialism and its leaders?

It is impossible to reform the BBC they are staffed to the brim with people like Machin. Twitter has proved what this site has been saying for years. A French philosopher predicted that all modern life would become entertainment, ‘a series of spectacles’; eventually, one news item would carry a similar weight to another, & discrimination in actual relevance would disappear. He foresaw the age of idiocy & infantilisation, & the shallow, posturing twitterings of the Beeboids are confirmation of his prediction. Can anybody imagine somebody like the late Charles Wheeler admitting to an obsession/infatuation with JFK? Wheeler was a BBC man; he was also a thoughtful, sceptical, restrained grown up. Given the rigid conformity of the Oxbridge/LSE ‘talent pool’ from which the BBC nets its tadpoles, the situation can only get worse; there’s not a free thinker to be found, or if there is one, they wouldn’t get into Beeboidia.
Obamama? Nothing but babyspeak. Babyspeak for a president that is all spectacle. A mythic messiah that only the immature could obsess over. A president whose analytical depth, & patriotism, are as shallow as the bath water in a drought, who, away from the slickness of the autocue, is a bumbler, probably more concerned with looking as cool as Marvin Gaye, circa, 1965. All spectacle, all surface shimmer. Obadada.

I like how the writer claims “critical postmodern art” is so great because of the “multiple perspectives”, and how that doesn’t negate “truth”, when it seems that all the works depicted are coming from the same perspective, being critical of the exact same thing, only using different artistic styles to do it.  Kind of like the BBC.

Obama: Where are his girl friends?

Where are his girl friends? Strange that none have popped up!Strange to the point of being down right WEIRD!

It’s niggled at me for ages that no one who ever dated him ever showed up. The simple fact of his charisma, which caused the women to be drawn to him so obviously during his campaign, looks like some lady would not have missed the opportunity.

We all know about JFK’s magnetism, McCain was no monk, Palin’s courtship and even her athletic prowess were probed. Biden’s aneurisms are no secret. Look at Cheney and Clinton–we all know about their heart problems. How could I have left out Wild Bill before or during the White House? Nope… not one lady has stepped up and said, “He was soooo shy,” or “What a great dancer!” Now look at the rest of this – no classmates, not even the recorder for the Columbia class notes ever heard of him.

I just don’t know about this fellow.
Who was the best man at his wedding? Then check groomsmen. Then get the footage of the graduation ceremony.
Has anyone talked to the professors? It is odd that no one is bragging that they knew him or taught him or lived with him.
When did he meet Michele and how? Are there photos? Every president gives to the public all their photos, etc. for their library. What has he released?

    Does this make you wonder?

Ever wonder why no one ever came forward from Obama’s past,
saying they knew him, attended school with him, was his friend, etc. ? Not one person has ever come forward from his past.
VERY STRANGE… This should really be a cause for concern. To those who voted for him, you may have elected an unqualified, inexperienced shadow man.

Let’s face it. As insignificant as we all are… someone whom we went to school with remembers our name or face … someone remembers we were the clown or the dork or  the brain or the quiet one.  George Stephanopoulos of ABC News said the same thing during the 2008 campaign. He questions why no one has acknowledged the president was in their classroom or ate in the same cafeteria or made impromptu speeches on campus. Stephanopoulos also was a classmate of Obama at Columbia-the class of 1984. He says he never had a single class with him.

While he is such a great orator, why doesn’t anyone in Obama’s college class remember him? And, why won’t he allow Columbia to release his records? NOBODY REMEMBERS OBAMA AT COLUMBIA
Looking for evidence of Obama’s past, Fox News contacted 400 Columbia University students from the period when Obama claims to have been there, but none remembered him. For example, Wayne  Root was, like Obama, a political science major at Columbia, who also graduated in 1983. In 2008, Root says of Obama, “I don’t know a single person at Columbia that knew him, and they all know me. I don’t have a classmate who ever knew Barack Obama at Columbia … EVER! Nobody recalls him. Root adds that he was also, like Obama, “Class of ’83 political science, pre-law” and says, “You don’t get more exact or closer than that. Never met him in my life, don’t know anyone who ever met him.” At the class reunion, our 20th reunion five years ago, who was asked to be the speaker of the class? Me. No one ever heard of Barack! And five years ago, nobody even knew who he was. Obama’s photograph does not appear in the school’s yearbook, and Obama consistently declines requests to talk about his years at Columbia , provide school records, or provide the name of any former classmates or friends while at Columbia …

NOTE: Root graduated as valedictorian from his high school,
then graduated from Columbia University in 1983 as a political science major in the same class in which Barack Hussein Obama states he was.

    Some other interesting questions…

Why was Obama’s law license inactivated in 2002?
Why was Michelle’s law license inactivated by court order?
It is circulating that according to the U.S. Census, there is only one
Barack Obama but 27 Social Security numbers and over 80 aliases.
WHAT?The Social Security number he uses now originated in Connecticut where heis never reported to have lived.
No wonder all his records are sealed! Somewhere, someone had to
know him in school…before he “reorganized” Chicago and burst upon the scene at the 2004 Democratic Convention and made us swoon with his charm, poise, and speaking pizzazz.

Phew! Deborah, that is some comment! I’ve always regarded ‘Barry’s’ sudden prominence on the political scene as very dubious. I regard him as the black Great Gatsby, a man from nowhere, & rather keen to dissemble when it comes to searching personal questions. I sometimes wonder who actually selected him, & why? Is he actually ‘post-racial’? To whom does his real allegiance belong? And for how much longer can the media continue/fake their post-orgasmic euphoria after the ‘chosen one’ has been seen to have feet, & quite possibly, a head, of clay?

My wife once commented that when Presidents get elected they seem to age very quickly.

I jokingly opined that as soon as they get the keys to the Oval Office and are alone, a side door opens and the smell of brimstone pervades as they find out what really is going on.

Maybe I was closer than I knew, and this time the puppet master has tired of the behind the scenes gig.

His Harvard records are – strangely – sealed, it’s true.  Although the Harvard Crimson has records of His time there.  But I expect the reason nobody has come forward to get their fifteen minutes of fame for being a college friend/girlfriend is because there weren’t any.  He does not come across as a nice guy, someone who makes friends easily, but does seem like someone with a long list of friends cast aside or thrown under the bus.  He even disavows knowledge of His own friends (Ayers, Wright), so it’s not surprising.

I agree the lack of ex-flames coming out of the woodwork is odd, considering how much celebration of Him there was at one time.  But I think it can be mostly explained by the fact that He is, as Mark Halperin said and got kicked off air for, a dick.  I kind of doubt anyone – especially a black woman or Harvard luvvie – would come out and say such a thing publicly. Especially considering just how many people would be waiting to villify them for it.

Harvard should be held accountable for their secretiveness.  This must be the first editor of the Harvard Law Review whose writing has been hidden from the public.  I guess that give Him two Firsts, anyway.

Maybe in a couple years after He’s been sent packing back to Illinois.

But it is very true that there has been a massive lack of scrutiny about His past by the media in comparison to what they did to Sarah Palin, who wasn’t even the actual candidate.  Maybe that has something to do with the lack of voices from His past: nobody in the MSM was asking.  The BBC never sent anyone to dig up dirt on Him, either.  Instead, they’ve been sweeping it under the rug.

When Obama makes an undeniably embarrassing gaffe about someone he’s actually met in the past year, the media ignores it and only lightly touches on it after he’s had time to apologize.
