I’m sure my fellow blogger Robin Horbury will have one or two things to say about this article by Fiona Fox at the BBC College of Journalism website, but in the meantime savour the comments underneath. Marvellous stuff. (H/t Umbongo)

What’s an unbiased Beeboid doing here?
http://www.bishop-hill.net/blog/2011/2/5/carbonundrums.html
She’s getting deservedly torn to shreds in the comments on her article.
That cheered me up! The viewpoints she espouses in this article are exactly what they teach at the BBC Journalism College. No wonder all the Beeboids are caught up in this religion.
She’s getting the barrage she deserves.
I like the lime-green “COMPLAIN ABOUT THIS COMMENT” invitations. Not at all inviting a flame war in the comments (“Nation Shall Speak Peace Unto Nation” indeed).
Do they still appear when someone agrees with Fiona’s opinions ?
I notice she does this thing of declaring what is mainstream. Beeboids do the same. Whether it is about warming or views about say, immigration policy, they declare what is mainstream and therefore, also what isn’t – in their book, anyway. Anybody who merely questions what they are telling us is not mainstream, according to them. But why is it not mainstream to question something so important as the evidence for warming causes? Declaring something doesn’t make it so. And declaring something to be mainstream doesn’t mean that that something is the truth, either. It still could be wrong. And if wrong, will continue being wrong no matter how many people keep declaring it to be mainstream.
I have said it before – beeboids honestly believe the BBC is neutral. They are brainwashed leftist scum. I weep for the future of our nation as the BBC continues to successfuly grotesquely distort what England is.
Yet again I have to register my disbelief that anyone can believe beeboids are unaware of their bias.
I state once more, they are shameless propagandists abusing their positions.
All you need to know about Fiona Fox is that as journalist for Living Marxism she acted as an apologist for the regime that carried out the Rwandan genocide. She, like so many BBC Gramscians, are crimes against humanity waiting to happen.
Hippie,
No doubt she would deny Stalin’s Genocide as well !
Christ, Fox is getting a right royal reaming isnt she!
Why, its almost heart warming
The other thing that made me laugh was the one fool who tries to divert attention to some skeptics who are supposedly in the employ of big oil…only for them to get a new one ripped for them too
Will this make any difference to the BBC’s reporting of Mann Made Global Warming ™? Not likely, but at least its encouraging that there are some around who are only too willing to give al beeb a good kicking when they get the chance.

Galileo was labelled as a heritic for going against “mainsream science” Today people are called “deniers” and silenced. There is no difference.
That’s cheered me up no end!
Quote, Fiona Fox “My views on climate change are rooted in eight years of running climate science press briefings at the SMC”
So you have only ever heard one side of the debate and have indulged in partisan press-release journalism.
I think you prove all of Peter Sissons points.
Quite
Eight years scientific study would be more to the point. So far as I can see, this wretched Fox woman has no science background.
What I’m suprised about is how clumsy a piece of propaganda this is by Comrade Fox to discredit Peter Sissons.
It is so easily taken apart, as the comments section shows.
One imagines she wrote it in a hurry, with a misplaced confidence in her own genius at defending the indefensible.
HP
She’s not talking to you and she’s not talking to me. She’s talking to her constituency of CAGW enablers in the BBC and elsewhere in the publications appealing to the political class as well as the corrupters of science at hitherto respectable institutions like the Royal Society. She’ll cock a deaf’n to the comments (if she even reads them).
Of course, it’s easy to pull her pathetic posting – and, indeed, the whole construct of CAGW – to shreds. Almost daily Bishop Hill, WUWT and Climate Audit supply overwhelming evidence of the moral and scientific bankruptcy of “climate science”. Unfortunately, the only change visible at the BBC since, say, Climategate is an acceleration in CAGW propaganda.
Larks; she’s from the Helen Boaden Skool of Hole Digging, isn’t she?
If this is the calibre of brain at the top of this ‘college’, I think my kids may be better directed to the East Essex University of Hirsuite Topiary and Knitting History asap.
All I could think of was…
