I’m sure the Islington sophisticates at the BBC were horrified at the fantastic success of Glenn Beck’s “Restoring Honor” rally in Washington DC. So when leftist comedian Jon Stewart organises his counter rally in DC, the BBC can be relied upon to cast it in as favourable a light as possible. Go to the story headed “Ruly Mob” on the main news portal that has the that leads to the story “A rally for sanity”. Get the picture? Maybe you need a little more guidance so just read what BBC correspondent Finlo Rohrer has to say, it’s all so cute, such an innocent rally full of non-partisans. And not even a mention of those pictured below carrying placards showing Republican with Hitler style moustaches. Maybe Finlo missed that? As we approach the US Mid Terms the BBC has gone into full defense mode – denying that poster boy Obama is responsible for the devastation about to hit his Party.

“Yusuf Islam (aka Cat Stevens), accused of backing Salman Rusdie fatwah, appears at DC ‘Rally to Restore Sanity’ ”
http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/tobyharnden/100061519/yusuf-islam-aka-cat-stephens-accused-of-backing-salman-rusdie-fatwah-appears-at-rally-to-restore-sanity/
I think sanity is a commodity which is rendering itself more and more impossible to grasp, more’s the pity. Perhaps the US Mid Terms will give us ALL hope.
Jon Stewart is a con artist.
I was forced to watch his speech during the last hour or so of this “March to Restore Smugness”. It was an absolute con. Stewart has been claiming for weeks that he’s trying to be non-partisan, that he wants to find a place between the “extremes” of Beck and O’Reilly and the extremes of…er….Keith Olbermann and Ed Schulz (who between them have a fraction of the audience of either of the Fox News darlings).
It’s quite obvious that Jeff Randall’s quote about the BBC fits Stewart to a tee. He thinks he’s on the middle ground as well. But it’s a con.
“We all need to work together.” (now that the Democrats are in charge)
“We have to stop demonizing our opponents.” (now that the Democrats are in charge)
Where was all this reaching across the aisle and togetherness two years ago? Who is dishonest enough to say that there wasn’t this vicious anger against President Bush? Where was all this “sanity” during the previous Administration? Does anyone imagine Stewart will be singing the same hymns in two years if the Republicans take the White House? Yet everyone falls for it, hook, line, and sinker.
Jon Stewart is a con artist.
We know he’s conning but is he an artist?
