JACQUI SMITH FOR BBC?

Who would have figured?

Former Home Secretary Jacqui Smith has sparked fury by bidding for a top BBC job less than three months after her political career ended in disgrace. The ex-cabinet minister, who famously charged taxpayers for the cost of watching two pornographic films, is lobbying to become vice-chairman of the BBC Trust. The plum position pays £77,000 a year for a two-and-a-half-day week and also offers generous perks.

Even better, when the Mail called her to ask for a comment, she reportedly said “How did you find out I was applying? F**k off”.

Presumably, hubby has disappeared into the snug again with the remote control and the box of tissues. Mind you, who can blame him?

“How did you find out I was applying? F**k off”.

Things seem to have changed somewhat, since the worst Home Secretary that this Nation has ever had forced upon them, was having opposition M.P.s arrested, for daring to question New Labours self righteous fairy tales on the subject of immigration.

If she emigrated to Japan then perhaps she could make it as a Sumo wrestler, because there’s no way on earth that my taxes paying for her, to manipulate herself yet another public sector job, especially after what she presided over, under Comrade Browns cock eyed leadership.

    Ah come on you lot!
Surely she can commission some BBC films with pornographic content…plenty of focus group input from her couch back home!

She could have her own late night show on the BBC, she could call it “Wank with Jacqui”

To put it into Formula1 terms, Jacqui Smith has the charm of Fernando Alonso, the skill of Luca Badoer and the embarrassment of Ralf Schumacher.

Smith and the BBC trust suit each other perfectly!

They share many traits among which are dishonesty, socialism, secrecy, bias, hypocrisy and a gravytrain mentality combined with a stunning sense of entitlement.
Smith and the BBC trust are so alike in nature and outlook its a wonder that more failed socialist gravytrain riding parasites are not already enjoying the lavish lifestyle afforded by the states enforced taxation….ooooh yeah….Smith would only be joining her friends.

How does one go about lobbying for a position on the BBC trust?

      1. Become a member of the Labour party.

      2. Go to University and join one of those ultra-left wing student groups; the sort of thing they pack the audience with on Question Time. Then when you graduate (doesn’t matter what in because you will have been sufficiently brain-washed/CP’d by that time) you can either:

      a) Go to the government cap-in-hand and tell them you want to form some sort of do-gooder group or
      b) Go straight to the BBC and become a news presenter then lick your way up.

Either option will do nicely, so long as you can demean yourself.

    Hope she gets it.

As a perfect fit, in BBC terms, she and “trust’ are hard to separate.

Mind you, ‘nails’ and ‘in coffins’ might also be a side benefit for those less than inspired by our troughing classes in politics and media.

Ms Smith certainly fits in with the BBC’s pro-Labour, pro-Islam and
anti-Geert Wilders politics; she is just the sort of politically biased person which the BBC forces on to licencepayers.

The BBC: Lets demonstrate our political impartiality by employing someone who has made a career out of being completely partial. That makes sense.

BBC – Left-wing, SMITH – Left-wing. Two lefts always make it right in the medias eyes.

Iain Dale says that the Chairman, Sir Michael Lyons, is a former Labour councillor.

This is getting simply ridiculous now.

    • Craig says:

It’s even worse than that. The other guy who is responsible for the impartiality of the BBC is Ed Richards, head of Ofcom.

Richards was previously a Senior Policy Advisor to Tony Blair and before that Controller of Corporate Strategy at the BBC. He has also worked in consulting at London Economics Ltd, and as an advisor to Gordon Brown MP.

On a more practical level, I presume there is a mechanism for objecting if a person is not a fit and proper candidate for a public body ?

    • John Anderson says:

There is no mechanism for objecting to appointments to the BBC Trust – or to Ofcom.

Indeed we do not even get to see who is on the shortlist.

If they allow someone who banned Geert Wilders from entering the country claiming it was to maitain public safety onto the BBC Trust, you can kiss any chance of reforming the BBC goodbye.

    • John Horne Tooke says:

There is no chance of reforming the BBC – it is too late. It has to be sold off.

Does the government have any say who is on the BBC Trust?, afterall Lyons was appointed by the then government.

      • David Preiser (USA) says:

Yes, the Trustees are appointed by the Queen, on recommendation from “ministers”.  Why would Smith even bother, though, if the Tories are seriously concerned about pro-Labour bias at the BBC?

        • John Horne Tooke says:

That is why I ask the question – she must think that the “tories” will not block her application to actually go that far. The ruling elite seem to be the only people in the country who can consistently fail only to either stay where they are or go onto more lucrative pastures.  This is Mandlesohns “post-democratic” society, a one that he has excelled in.

There’s no way that Jacqui Smith could be appointed to the BBC Trust. Quite apart from her appalling reputation for expenses (which continues to enrage the public), she was also an authoritan, anti-free speech Home Secretary who did a comically bad job at it. Even the Beeboids will probably be revolted at her illiberal authoritanism.
