UN TO THE RESCUE!

Good old BBC, always giving us the facts. It reports today that the United Nations is to begin a major food distribution programe in Port-au-Prince, a mere three weeks after the earthquake. Meanwhile doctors voice concern that the US has halted evacuation of the critically injured to the US. Get with the meme; UN=good. US = Bad.

The world needs to do more for Haiti. The people there have already suffered a lot. Let us all come together for Haiti. This is Diana from Israeli Uncensore News.

  I propose we do a lot, lot less for Haiti. Several hundred million dollars less. I know we’ll have to do without <insert something useful Haiti produces, if anything> for a while, but damn it, it’s a sacrifice worth making.
  I propose France re-colonises Haiti. I hate the French and everything they stand for, but that’s the only way Haiti is ever going to be anything but a squalid zoo. They simply don’t have the ability to run a country without handouts from civilised countries and blocs.
  And if that’s unacceptable, the there’s always Plan B: cut off all aid and outside assistance, and let nature take its course.

Sorry but the UN is a joke. Typical of the BBC not to report on the farce of UN soldiers practising their instrument playing or UN soldiers taking aid away from starving people. The UN is a joke but of course it’s a bloated left wing organisation full of corrupt killers, hence loved by the BBC.

Compared to the usual doing absolutely nothing or making the situation several orders of magnitude worse, three weeks of handwringing and meetings is positively fast for the United Nations.

  I’m no fan of the UN but it should be noted the UN is totally unable to take quick action. It has no armed forces, no ships or planes and limited budget for emergencies. It is forced to beg the member states to provide this and that on a case by case basis.

    But the UN had people there on the ground, including troops and lost of trucks that could have been helping with food distribution.
    
    As with Indonesia – the UN and many of the NGOs (already present) have been pretty useless. In spite of huge funding over many years – which has simply built up the dependency culture in Haiti.

Only nation states are ever successful at this kind of thing. The UN is a failed organisation. Nothing it does is ever a success. Why we continue to fund it is beyond me.

Human rights committee full of rights abusers – FAIL
Rwanda – FAIL
Sex abuse by UN troops overlooked – FAIL
Climate change!! – FAIL
