I know that Biased BBC has quite a few readers involved in farming. A very noble but challenging activity but not one the BBC has much sympathy for – unless, of course, it is about environmentalism rather than producing food! Listened to an item this morning on Today @ 7.16am which was all about the link-up between farmers and environmentalists, aimed at squeezing more cash from Brussels in exchange for farmers…erm, not farming. Through the BBC prism, one could be forgiven for thinking that our farmers are some sort of legion of tractorised eco-warriors!

Sounded to me like everyone was pretty up front about their interests here: there’s money to be had, let’s grab it before the budget runs out. Both the CLA guy and the RSPB guy said pretty much the same thing there.
