A LOAD OF BALLS…

Sarah Montague “interviews” Ed Balls here. What a laugh. It was in essence a forum for Balls to constantly repeat that the Conservatives are out to cut back “investment” in the public sector. I love the fantastical claims that Balls makes, which Sarah gaily lets pass. “Tough Discipline in every class-room” – was this a comedy routine? The BBC pimps for Labour day in day out and it is as simple as that. Note that the arrogant and devious tone throughout from Balls and the way in which he throws around “Billions” as if it were HIS money. (PFI is “a great success” was another great throwaway line. )

Jon Snow gave Balls a pretty rough time on Channel 4 news last night in a way no Beeboid would ever do.
Balls got quite flustered and came over as a total prat.

Ed Balls came over as "a total prat"? How could that be? He is a giant of a politician, a man of the highest intellect with a massive knowledge of economics and politics, a man of the highest calibre and probity…. Sorry I think the heat is getting to me.

Roland – maybe it just feels like a lot 🙂

The key point really is that it was the Huffington Post that was specifically mentioned by Obama – so it makes sense to have her on. The other guest was from the Evening Std – hardly a liberal 'hatesite' so some form of balance (Martin – you seem a bit cross – not getting enough? I am sure I can get some people to recommend some productive gents in Hampstead or similar)

If Gordon Brown mentioned Iain Dale or Guido in a similar context then obviously they would want them on.

The interesting point was when Paxman said to Huffington 'but you're not getting both sides of the story' – the idea that some people might NOT have voted for Mousavi was completely lost on her. She makes most of our press look like a model of balance and impartiality.

Absolutely right. The problem for me is that Justin Webb takes his lead from her and her cohorts too often.
