While “soothes” is a pretty odd choice of words, considering as how this is only an effort to “soothe”, and no “soothing” seems actually to have occurred, why is the BBC so cavalier about the Prime Minister of a country getting involved in private business deals? Again?
The nonchalance with which Darling and the Beeboids are saying that government will be arranging financial sales of businesses is way too creepy.

Ours are politically correct little sheeple who wouldn’t dare dissent from their lord Obama. Come experience the southern hospitality that I’m sure you’ve heard of. Nationwide takes over Dunfermline
“The Nationwide is to buy the Dunfermline Building Society’s branches, good loans and deposits, it has been confirmed.”
This does not add up – I had to think about for a few minutes. For a bank, a loan is an asset. Its a bit of paper that will earn interest and be redeemed for the principal in the future. A branch is quite clearly an asset as well. But a deposit is a liability.
So to mention all 3 in the same sentence like they do is really bad, thoughtless journalism. Amateurish.
It is a statement that the Nationwide will buy those things. Is it factually incorrect?
