Radio 2 Controller Resigns

Radio 2 controller resigns

The events of the last two weeks happened on my watch. I believe it is right that I take responsibility for what has happened, says Lesley Douglas, which strikes me as admirably straight-forward, so no criticism from me.

I had to go to Sky to get that quote, though.

more scalps please. it is sooo enjoyable seeing these utter scumbags getting their comeuppance.

Let’s get rid of Ross too. Today near me Alex Ferguson opened a £2 million sports centre at a school in a deprived area.

Why are we giving £6 million of public money to a jerk like Ross when that money would buy three such centres?

one wonder who the hell will hire him after this?

oops.. no way out there so.

    delicious.

just reporting what ITN have just said in their 6.30 news bulletin…

agree with you on the hatred bit – this definitely looks like the proverbial straw on the camels back.

the bbc was tolerated up till now …

now middle england has collectively told the beeb to get stuffed.

The woman who has jacked as Radio 2 boss has said

“I am proud of what we have achieved together over the years and I shall miss you all.”

She’s proud of the mess she has presided over. What a disgrace. What calibre of person does the BBC recruit these days?

YES!!! Two beeboid scalps in 2 days. It doesn’t get much better. Now these fuckers know what it’s like when they were shrieking for the blood of Osbourne and Spelman.

Sack more of the beeboid fuckers!

There is a lot more around this evening. The BBC bosses have been locked up for much of the day discussing Tasteless Phonecalls Gate. (Am I alone in wondering why it’s all but impossible to get the Gate tag into this successfully?).

The complaintometer now apparently way past 30,000 for a piece of broadcasting which elicited precisely two, yet two, complaints at the time. Well as I say, it gets top billing if there are major developments. Bids in for BBC interviews of course. Nothing definite to report.

According to the BBC, they don’t monitor the number of complaints, or some such drivel.

Nice to see Sky News hammering the BBC on this story, whilst as usual the BBC tries to play it down with the usual “nothing happening here, move along please”

Anyone want to bet we get a missing data CD story or perhaps they found out that Caroline Spelman bought a dummy for her kids on expenses 15 years ago story?

but we know that the idiots wont do that – so lets look forward to weeks and weeks of a Woss witchhunt.

Here’s an ‘on the edge’ politically incorrect comment which most Beeboids won’t like:

Convert the BBC Arabic TV centre at Broadcasting House, London (currently financed by UK taxpayer to broadcast to Arab countries what Arabs want to see), into a Non-Arab TV centre, financed by Ross’s salary, to broadcast what British people want to see.

[BBC World, self-publicity for BBC taxpayer paid for Arabic TV service]:

I wonder if the BBC lawyers found that they would have to pay the egomaniac off so the 3 months suspension may be as far as they can go without shelling out megabucks to get rid of him.

Are there overnight programmes on Radio 2? Put him on permanent nights when he comes back. That would screw other income opportunities and possibly encourage him to do the decent thing.

the strain must be showing on Mark Thompson. I notice he has not had time to shave. I almost feel sorry for him but then I think of his salary and perks and just think he could have at least made an effort to shave for the Governors. It must all have come as a nasty shock to them. Ross, Brand and an unshaven DG.

Wonder how many of those 30,000 heard the original broadcast and were so incensed by it that they complained? Oh yeah, 2.

That leaves 29,998 people who were suckered in by the BBC hating press.

I have never disagreed about the BBC’s leftie agenda, but I am far more in favour of improving the corporation than elliminating it.

But what the tabloid media do is far, far worse than anything the BBC has [intentionally] aired.

So people who pay for the BBC cannot have a say unless they actually watched it. If you have shares in a company you have a vote – what is the difference.

According to your logic if the BBC pay money to terrorists – it has nothing to do with the people who fund it and they should not have a say.

Devil’s Advocate – I’m one of the 30,000 who complained who didn’t listen to it.

I never listen to Ross, but I still have to pay for it.

I never watch his television programme, but I still have to pay for it.

I had my attention drawn to it by the newspapers. I read the transcripts and watched the videos.

Then I complained, because although I never watch or listen to the horrible man I HAVE TO PAY FOR IT.

    Get it???

I think Devil Ad mis-typed. I think he meant ‘I never agreed…’ I could be wrong tho.

But no, DA, you don’t need to have heard the broadcast live to be offended by it – it is quite reasonable to hear about it later and think what Ross/Brand did was wrong.
